Excellent Tapas – We dined here on a Wednesday night. The food was very, very good and the service was also friendly and attentive, but not overly attentive. The tapas were delivered at a nice pace, one at a time, and we never felt rushed. We sat on the patio, and though the tables were close together, it was still very nice. We had the Pan con tomatoe with the ham and cheese, the asparagus with oyster mushrooms, the fried crabmeat croquettes, and the tuna tartare. All of them were perfectly seasoned and were simply fantastic. This place is better than Cafe Madrid. For dessert we had the churros and although they were also very good, I've tasted better ones. But overall, I would definitely recommend it and I will be going back !
great food, good atmosphere – I love this tapas bar! The atmosphere is great and the service is perfect. If it is crowded, it might be hard to get a seat but once you do, they do not rush you at all. It is a really pleasurable experience that is meant to be a very long meal. We started off with the Pan con Tomate (you must order it with the serrano ham and the manchego cheese!-- the dish sounds so simple, but it really is fantastic). They have several different Sangrias, but I had the red. It was very good. We then ordered the Ensaladita de Tuna Tartare. The hazelnuts and the unusual dressing make this a great take on Tuna Tartare. We ordered the Gambas al Ajillo next. This was not my favorite because they leave the shrimp heads on and it lacked a bit of flavor. They definitely have better dishes. We tried several specialties (like Kobe beef skewers and saffron croquettes). The dessert we ordered, the churros with hot chocolate sauce is absolutely amazing. The whole table can split it and you really shouldn't get too full before having this-- it is really amazing. Overall, this is a great can't miss spot in Dallas.
Great for pre-symphony bite – My wife and I were running a bit short on time before attending the symphony, so we immediately thought tapas and decided to give Sangria a try. It was early on a Saturday night (6:15 perhaps) and we were seated immediately. Our server came by quickly and was very personable, but not in an intrusive and gum-smacking, "my name is Skippy and I'll be yer server tonite" sort of way. We told him we were in a bit of a rush and ordered the standard sangria (for me) and the champagne sangria (for her). I've never really gotten into sangria before, and this sangria left me feeling the same way. It might be fine sangria, but I'll not try it again.
We ordered four tapas and were pleased with the speed and efficiency of the service. The patatas bravas con aioli were plentiful and nicely crisp and spiced, but while the sauces were tasty, there was not nearly enough of either. The Esparragos y Setas a la Plancha (Asparagus and oyster mushrooms sauteed with olive oil and garlic) were outstanding. The mix of tender-crisp asparagus and the soft, moist mushrooms was fabulous. The Ensaladita de Tuna Tartare was fine, though not exceptional: somehow the tuna got lost in all the rest of it. Lastly, the Pan con Tomate with Serrano Ham and Manchego was fine. I would definitely recommend getting the optional ham and manchego with it, as the Pan de Tomate would be a bit thin and uninteresting without them.
We got out in plenty of time and were able to enjoy a drink before the symphony. Although I don't feel we got to try out all the aspects of Sangria's, I was very pleased with this visit and look forward to more in the future.

Perfect choice for a girls night out. – The perfect girls night out! This place was the perfect choice for us 40ish women. We love good food and sharing? this was perfect with the different yummy choices that were displayed before us in a beautiful presentation. The wine choices were good, the pricing fair, the atmosphere fun and friendly, but I would also recommend it for a romantic dinner or a first date place as well. All 6 of us gave it a thumbs up. Thank you Lombardi Family for creating another top notch restaurant for us to dine in, we will ALL be back!
horrible service – The atmosphere here is great. Stood in the bar for about 45 minutes on a Saturday night having red sangria. Weak, but tasty. That was the good part of the evening. We were seated and the waiter took at least 10 minutes to arrive at our table. We could not hear one thing he was saying to us b/c the music was SO loud and there were so many people. He could only talk to one of us at a time. We first asked him about one of the tapas specials up on the chalkboard. He had NO idea what it was or how it was prepared. He asked another waitress and she had no idea either! He came back w/ a description of something totally different than was on the board. We decided against ordering it. The spicy shrimp tapas was mealy and way over cooked. When we mentioned this, the waiter did not seem to care. The kobe beef was good, as were the lamb chops. Everything else was mediocre and way overpriced. To top it off, we paid $100 to not be full AND we just got our credit card bill only to discover the waiter added an additional tip for himself!! We will see what the manager has to say. The "manager" who answered the phone told us to call back tomorrow and talk to another person.
terrible drinks (very weak), okay food. – Just went on Saturday night, expecting a great food and drink experience. Mojito was very weak, switched to sangria; also very weak. Spent a ton on drinks and left feeling like I had drank a lot of juice. Service was okay, once we were finally greeted after about ten minutes of sitting there. Food was not impresive at all, very bland flavors. The only thing that was remotely good was the seared tuna. Overall, if you name is Sangrias, at least have good sangria.
They also have the front door wide open, and not very much air conditioning going. A little warm inside. This also means flys. Not impressed...
Don't make a complaint -- they will call the police! – Well where should I begin? I have just gotten home from what should have been a great Sunday. Unfortunately I went to Sangria Tapas Bar in uptown. Excited about the "bottomless sangria" my wife and I decided to go. We both ordered "bottomless sangria" and we ordered two tapas total. We were generally satisfied with our experience until we got the bill. We were charged for four "bottomless sangrias"? We thought it was just a mistake. The only mistake was going to Sangria Tapas Bar.
We spoke to the manager, "Chima," who told us that we had to order something off the brunch menu to get bottomless sangria. We asked him to show us the menu, but it had no such notation. We asked why the tapas we ordered didn't count. He told us we had to spend more money and then he asked us where else we could get bottomless sangria in Dallas. I told him that I would not pay for the extra order of "bottomless sangria," because it was his job to let us know in advance what they would be charging. Our server didn't know the policy either, and apologized for the confusion. We knew it wasn't here fault.
He then CALLED THE POLICE!!!! I found this out when I asked to speak to him a second time. He left us with the check and told us the police were coming. At that point, I figured that I had no choice but to pay. We paid and waited for the rain to subside. We then saw that two Dallas police squad cars arrived. I guess he told them there was no problem, because we weren't arrested and didn't have to speak to the police. The embarassment was unbelievable. And the unexpected expense didn't feel nice either.
In sum, avoid any Lombardi restaurant - if you are unsatisfied, you have no choice but to pay or be arrested. I have never been treated so poorly by any professional establishment. I hope that this notice to you serves as fair warning.
Wonderful experience, great night, courteous service – I was worried when I read other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised that my group had a wonderful experience. There were 8 of us, so we had many warning that we had to have our full party and not be late or we would lose our reservation. The place was very small, so this is understandable.
Luckily, our party all arrived on time and from that point on we were not rushed at all. We had a TON of food, plenty of sangria and mojitos and left very happy.
The food is excellent and the place is beautiful.
Tasty Tapas – Great decor, crowed but with an open feel and high energy. Ate at the bar with good service. Started off with a red sangria and mojito (loved the mojito) and some hot peppers nicely cooked with a kick of heat. We were very pleased with the bacon wrapped dates, garlic shrimp, spanish cheese plate, and asparagus with oyster muchrooms. The spinach and shrimp empanada was very flavorful, but short on shrimp. The potatoe bravas were cooked perfectly with two sauces on the side. For dessert we had the backlava pastry -a perfect end to the meal. 2 people; 5 drinks, 6 tapas, 1 dessert = $90 plus tip.
