Bye Bye Bobby – Not good enough to make it Houston, those Dallas people will eat anything and think it's gooood. Oh well, you gotta be great to make it in Houston.
Steak at it's Finest!!! – I can understand having 1 good experience at a resturant, but everytime I visit Bob's I leaving with the feeling this is comparable to The Last Supper. My wife and I are true Ribeye Steak lovers, and the Bone-In Ribeye here is to die for. Prepared in the perfect seasoning, with the best cuts of beef. Even the appetizers are fresh and tasty. The sides are nicely sized for sharing. Easily my favorite steakhouse and resturant in Houston, amongst very stiff competition (i.e. Strip House, Morton's, Capital Grille). Enjoy the food! Oh yeah, I always have great service. Demand it, you pay for it! Best steak in town!
Great FOod. Service SUCKED! – just got back from my valentine's dinner. made reservations. hostesses weren 't very friendly or happy. when you walk in a restaurant as fancy as this one is expected to be, you would think you would get greeted. well, we got prompt seating. Waiter did not even greet us for about 8 mintues. the waiter asked if it was our first time and it was. He was kind of enough to tell us about the deals and the restaurant. he knew his stuff. returned with our drinks. left.... came back 10min later for get our order. recieved our food by another server. we asked for some condements... did not get it for 20 min! we tried to make eye contact w/ our waiter. no luck. the other server who dropped it off. no luck. EVEN the MANAGER... NO LUCK. anyone...NO LUCK. seem like they did not care. my date and i just stopped eating. we only had about 2 bites and just waited. NO ONE seem to notice that we were just sitting there with unhappy looks. later, the server who dropped off our food who i noticed, had the "oh i FORGOT" look on her face and finally remembered after she dropped of condements at another table. Our OWN waiter never returned till the end, not even to see how we were doing. we had finished eating and we waited....and waited.... had to wait another 10min for th water to noticed we were done. after he finally came back... we asked for to-go boxes and we got the dessert menu. nothing appealing... he came back 7 mintues later. we then asked for the check. came back 8 minutes later. i was already tired... wanted to go. wanted to be in then out... but no..... horrible service. not very attentive. if the servers can't handle 4 tables, get more servers! especially on a special occasion where people would like to make sure the night is perfect.
Awesome steak, classy, great service – Talk about a steak house that has entrees bursting with flavor. Bob's make a steak the way it should be...how you order it! Sides are awesome and I recommend sharing. Good wine list and a great classy atmosphere that lacks pretention. Definitely going to return. This place is a great addition to Houston's continually escalating restaurant scene.
Topnotch Steakhouse – This steakhouse, in Tony's old quarters, is a real standout. Not only great steaks, but excellent pasta too, a rarity in this kind of place. Desserts were out of this world and the service was outstanding. All in all, one of the best restaurants in Houston. Highly recommended!
Top notch Steak Restaurant – My wife and I took our daughter to Bob's for a celebration. We had a wonderful meal and overall experience. My wife and daughter had filets and I had a strip. All were cooked as requested and they were very flavorfull. The side order of mushrooms were much larger than your traditional sauteed side order (they're huge). But their texture was great and their taste was almost "meaty". The restaurant is located in the former Tony's location on Post Oak. I would highly recommend Bob's as a great steak restaurant. The bar is very noisy, so if you want a quiet dinner, request to be seated far away from it.
Great food and atmosphere. – We made a reservation and where promptly seated on arrival. The bread is good and the cuts of meat are aged to perfection. My steak was so tender I could cut it with my fork and had great flavor. If you want great steak this is the place to go.
Highly Anticipate Going – Can only comment on the Dallas location, but should this place reflect the food and service, it will rival all the best steak houses in Houston. For reference I compare to my favorites: Papa Brothers and The Strip House
Upscale steakhouse in the former Tony's location welcomes Houston's power brokers and society set. – In Short
This steakhouse import from the Big D carries over its signature décor with dark mahogany paneling and plenty of brass, gilding and Old World elegance. Lightly battered crab cakes, smoked salmon, salads, fresh seafood and rack of lamb provide tempting alternatives to the USDA prime beef. Choice cuts include the bone-in ribeye, prime porterhouse and filet mignon sided by the familiar potato and glazed carrot combo. The two-fork peanut butter brownie sundae makes for a satisfying ending.
