Different and yummy. – I went in with my roommate and ordered 2 burgers to go. One for me, and one for my hubby. My roommate and I had a drink while we waited. Not too long of a wait. We sat at the bar so, we could actually see the cooks and they were moving pretty fast considering it was almost closing time.
The bartender seemed kinda quiet but, it was close to closing time and he just appeared to be tired from a long shift. He was polite, in any case.
I ordered the Teds Bacon Cheeseburger for me, Medium-rare. And, the Green and Hot Burger for my hubby..well done. Both, Bison. With regular fries for both. We left and drove home...about a 10-15 min drive.
The food was cooked exactly to order! And Seasoned Just right! If you've ever had a Bison burger, or cooked one, it's a little milder than regular beef and EASY to over or under-season. Both of our were Delicious! Plus, our fries were too and held their crisp until we made it home!
We will FOR SURE BE BACK for those Burgers! I blinked, and my husband's whole burger was gone and we are picky about burgers!
Families and large groups feast on hearty cuts and comfort food at this Rocky-Mountain style steakhouse. – In Short
Lots of mahogany, tin ceilings, metal crown molding and Arts and Crafts-style décor prevail at this casual, comfortable saloon, part of media mogul Ted Turner's domain. Beef and bison are king, and they're hand-cut on site. Other bites include beer-can chicken, bison prime rib and cedar planked salmon. For dessert, there's home-made cookies, Kahlua fudge brownies, Coke floats and strawberry shortcake.
great food, nice servers – I've always had a good experience here. Love the convenient location to downtown Decatur. My favorite thing to order is the wedge salad... soooooo good. Wait staff has always been prompt and courteous. Highly recommended.
Sprisingly bad! – When we walked in the restaurant, it felt like a diner. No music, quite (few tables on a Wednesday night.) Bartender was talking about quitting his job to another server who was complaining about slow business. I know how tough this business is but a customer should not hear about it.
Our server started telling us about the special or the menu or something? I do not know since I did not understand a word about what she was taking about since it was so fast and bad talking. She apologized about her talking and that was nice. Anyways, I ordered a beer and it did not arrive for 25 minutes, I could see my beer at the bar waiting for the pick up but none did. I had to go there and get it myself and next table did the same thing for their wine. By the way the bartender (with no customer) should have run my beer instead of complaining that he is not making money. He saw how irritated we were that beer was so close to us but it was still on the bar instead of our table.
My salad came with my entree, which was supposed to come before hand. It was the worst ceaser salad I have ever had. So much lemon juice, uneatable, sour, gross, two peace of croutons My burger was overcooked which I especially had asked it to be cooked MR. I had ordered wheat bun but it came with regular one. The beans were discussing, just over boiled ridicules beans. My wife seemed to like her meatloaf. She had to wait 30 minutes for her coffee. The manager, who was the chef/expediter at the same time, came to table and apologized about I do not know which fault but he took the salad off the check. This restaurant has been open for a while and owned by two big business man. If they knew what a bad shape this restaurant is, I am sure they would have done something about it but I think the problem is they just do not know.
Potential to be great, but fell a little short – The service was great. I think every single server plus the manager stopped by my table either to check on me or bring me something. Unfortunately the food wasn't quite as good. Don't get me wrong, the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't as great as people had told me it was. I ordered America's Cup, which is a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms. I decided to be adventurous and get it with bison instead of beef. There were two small problems with this sandwich. First of all, the bacon was completely limp. Secondly, the bison really wasn't very flavorful. It tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all. On the other hand, the onions and mushrooms were terrific, and I don't even really like onions!
For dessert, I ordered the Kahlua browning. This is something else that had great potential but fell flat. I think it would have been tremendous if the brownie had been warm!
All in all, even though this wasn't my favorite meal ever, I would go back and try something else.
