Avoid if you can...or maybe we just got them on a bad day.
Sorry.....but we had to leave hungry w/out being fed after waiting an hour for egg omelets. One thing after the other.....having to get our own menus, ask for water, running out of coffee....other people served before us that had arrived later. One waitress who was young and very slow. The other was doing as good a job as she could with a kitchen that clearly could not handle making even one meall in a timely manner. We're pretty sure our food was given to someone else. Finally we asked if our order was even submitted to the kitchen. Didn't really give us an answer. So we left very hungry and now we are home in our own kitchen eating good food. Oh yes....this is why I don't out to breakfast. Thought I had heard good things about this place. AVOID AVOID....too bad...it was cute but that's about all. The nice waitress did say sorry and she didn't charge us for coffee. So we were at least happy about that. I give it a zero rating.

great food, aggressively unhip.
This is a quiet, clean bar and restaurant with friendly folks inside. It looks like everyone at the bar either knows you or would if you wanted them to.
The food is outstanding. The lamb is a great full plate choice and the Shepherd's pie is comfort food at its best.
I go during the weekdays for dinner, and on the weekends for the brunch.

Awful waitress more happy pills for you honey.
There were only 2 or 3 tables taken at the time i walked in. It is a seat yourself kind of establishment but yet she was trying to railroad me into sitting somewhere I didn't want to sit. She stood there and argued while I sat and patiently listened to her ramble on about all the reasons blablabla. I actually felt embarassed for her as people around were kind of getting unsettled as well. There was no way in hell that I was going to stay there after that episode. Left and went down to Smarty Pants and had a great breakfast. My advice - let people sit where they want to sit, in the long run it will give you more money and less of a headache.

Friendly fun place.
Calamity Jane's is still rather new and growing. The service has been changing and improving. There are some amazing soups, if you like soups, and I do. Wednesday has a Scotch Broth that I think is one of the best soups ever, but they are all good. The Lamb Tangine is one of the best lamb dinners I have ever had. The Cincinnati Chili on Thursdays is also one of my favorites. The Saturday and Sunday brunch has amazing food that offers Southern style grits, home made nitrate free sausage and kick ass bloody Mary's.
Monday nights has a fun Bingo game, which is for an adult crowd and quite fun. How often do you get to see young, hip, tattooed individuals playing Bingo? Well it happens on Mondays in Georgetown at Calamity Jane's.

It's a bar in georgetown.
If you're coming from Ballard, Magnolia, Madison Park, Wallingford etc. you might be surprised with Calamity Jane's. Suffice it to say, gentrification has not taken hold in Georgetown the way you hope it has, and a monthly slum for the art walk doesn't change that. CJs is a great bar with great food, decent service if you treat the staff like actual human people, and don't expect them to kiss your a$$ like the help in bars on hills.

Good food, service with an attitude.
We finally decided to check with place out (2 adults, 2 kids) on an early Friday evening. The restaurant was empty (maybe two tables taken) and we were asked to seat ourselves. Reading all the other reviews we were a bit skeptical about the wait staff and how they would "react" to our kids.
While the waitress was not unfriendly, we were under the impression that kids weren't her preferred customers based on the way she interacted with us and not at all with them. Also, no crayons or paper, or anything to keep them busy were provided (we got our own back from the car). We had to wait a long time for the waitress to take our order.
The food arrived quickly and it was very good. We probably would eat there again but without the kids.

Comfy little food spot.
We live on Beacon Hill, and thought we'd try the new stuff in Georgetown. What a treat and a surprise!
The rough edges of the neighborhood are completely smoothed out by the friendly folks at C.Js My
husband is from the south, and he's picky about his greens. These folks have them perfect.
The wait staff was funky and friendly, and the service was quick. The art on the walls was actual
stuff the locals have done, and the food was affordable and great. It's a casual and romantic little
neighbeorhood restaurant, well worth the trip.

best food in Georgetown.
I took my new girlfriend there and we had Ahi Tuna Kabobs. WOW what a taste treat. this surprisingly light tasty meal was served on salad and we finished our meal with a HUGE piece of the cooks grandmothers chocolate cake. To die for. I live in Renton and I usually end up eating in downtown seattle when i'm here but i've found a new place to tempt my palate. Well Done Calamity Jane's!

try it you'll like it.
I went there on a Monday recently and tried the special. it was fresh green salad with steak.OMG it was delicious. the presentation was delightful. the staff was friendly, a rough looking character who was surprisingly fun and gregarious. We almost did not stop there after eating there some weeks earlier and having a messy plate of beans and greens. for future reference please wipe the sides of your dishes before serving them, nobody likes their food running down the side of a bowl. The atmosphere was great, a nice place for families and large groups. upon reading the menu i see a homey style of cuisine with some surprising specials presented here and there. absolutely the best food in Georgetown. try it you'll like it.

worst service I've had in years....
We puttered in - mostly because we drive past on our way to Smarty Pants - and have said 1,000 times... We outta try the new place! And - gosh - that was a HORRIBLE idea. Beer was warm. There were only about 6 people in there and it still took 10 minutes to put in a drink order. Ordered a burger... saw it (done) and sitting under the heat lamp for about 15 minutes... while we sat with emply glasses... finally asked if that was our burger... to which we got a: "maybe." And another 10 minutes with warm beer and no burger - I just went up to the freakin kitchen station and picked it up myself. It was awful and cold and the salad was literally burnt from the heat lamp. Waitress was mad at me for getting it on my own - and I reminded her that it sat there (done) for moments shy of a half hour. She noted that it was busy. Again, I say there were 6 or so people. So - all said and done - a near $40 tab for a dead burger, warm beer, serving myself and the most awful service I've had in this town in years. I will NEVER EVER EVER go there again. Go the two blocks to Smarty Pants or the Saloon. They are NICE and professional and the food is awesome and speedy. Oh yes - and the beer is COLD.
