Manor is my fav! – My girlfriends and I usually end up here every weekend. We love to get crazy and dance and this place is the best for it. There isn't a better place in River North to start the night.
Hot girls everywhere! – Wandered over after a drink at the Kerryman and ended up walking out the door at 2:30 in the morning. Every girl in the place was smokin' and I ended up having a great night! Door guys weren't ridiculous like a lot of the other clubs, and the drinks are reasonably priced! I will be making this my first stop next weekend
DENIED FROM MANOR!!! – A group of us 10 plus people stood in line at manor to get in. I was not crazy paying for a table, but it was a friends birthday. We got there and the bouncer said that we did not have the correct ratio of women to men, we got denied. It didn't matter that we were willing to pay to get in. If you read this do not even attempt to go there because of the arrogent bouncers that take care of the door. The group that I was with ended up going to English night club on LaSalle and had a blast. I wanted to warn you not to even waste your time because if you have the incorrect ratio of women to men they will turn you away even though you have made a reservation to get in with a party. I would tell people don't even bother because it is not worth it.
Not worth your $$ or or your time – Save your money. Rude bouncers, bordering racial by the way I've seen them treat some people at the door (other reviewers can attest to this) and just plain lazy wait staff who are into themselves. Watch out for overcharges on your itemized bill. I've caught the wait staff red handed before; quickly removed the extra charges after realizing I caught them. Not worth your $$. There are other clubs and lounges in the area worth visiting.
My Worst New Year's Eve Ever – This year was the first time I've spent New Year's Eve in Chicago my 6 years here and it was definitely my worst experience ever (not to blame Chicago, but Manor).
First of all, the place is tiny, not the "ultra mega lounge" the review claims. However, I've got to say the service is the worst part of this place. For most of the night, the bouncers and bartenders were rude and obnoxious. However, the worst part came at the end. All of my friends are thrown out of the place! Two of my Asian friends are thrown out because they accidentally bumped into a girl who is friends with the bartender. (she accused them of touching her) Afterwards, I get thrown out. Then, one after the other, I see 5-6 of my other friends thrown out. Coincidentally, all of my friends are Asian. I guess the bouncer just assumed we were all friends because we're Asian. The bouncer wouldn't even let us get our personal belongings from the coat check first and picks my girlfriend up from her feet and tosses her out!
In case you were wondering, I was completely sober, civil, and polite.
In conclusion.. there's nothing else but to say that I will never go to this place again. It was simply one of the worst and insulting nights I've ever experienced.
Worst place on Earth? – Where do I start. We arrived outside - they wanted to let the girls in first. Fat chance. I reported that I was leaving if I had to wait, then suddenly our group was brought around back into the kitchen. Lame.
We get a table. Its too packed, too loud. The bouncers think they are cool cause they work there. They aren't.
Basically, what I am saying is that VIP is cool, but VIP isn't cool if you want to be seen. Paying a lot to have a good time with your friends is fun! But paying a lot so you can feel like a big shot (most of the people there are paying with company credit cards), thats LAME.
Anyways, Paris Hilton (i think) has seemed to have gotten it: VIP is so yesterday. And so is this club.
VIP - Yeah Right??!! – All the hype for this new club was just that - a lot of hype, but not at all what we expected. We've been twice and will probably not go again. As a group, we prefer VIP for the service, privacy ,and room to breathe and sit. Not only could we not breathe in Manor's VIP because the air was barely running, but we could barely sit either. Other drunk patrons had taken our seats. So basically, it was me, my party and everyone else's party too. We ended up leaving early because everyone was stepping on our toes. We felt like sardines in this overcrowded, hot, very unpleasant space. Aside from the elegant decor, I felt like I was in a dive bar in college.
River North gets a tongue-in-cheek taste of the manor-bred life at this swank lounge. – In Short
The theme is pedigree, from family crests to wood-clad walls. Flagstones contrast with richly stained paneling and red lampshades. The space opens into a bottle service area where attractive groups fuss over DIY cocktails in library-like nooks. Excellent sound deftly handles hip-hop, house and rock mash-ups busting from a raised DJ booth.
