As I hold my nose and cough... – Ok, so I don't much care for bad reviews. I care even less about giving them. But, in this one rare exception, I MUST warn my fellow gastrinoms of the total lack of service, disgustingly poor choice of salad options, and terrible meat selections at this restaurant. The food is goes down gaggingly as the non-existent wait staff watches drink rings form around the base of your empty glass. It must take a herculean effort to provide such terrible quality at such a nice location. And, after shelling out thirty bucks a head to eat crappy food... you make me GO GET IT?? No thank you.
Worst Restaurant Experience Ever! – Worst restaurant experience ever! You have to go up and order your meat then visit the salad bar. [Which is bare.] Once we picked up our meat and headed back to our seats [for the price you are paying you shouldn't have to do this much work.] the meat was cold and poor quailty. They ran out of chicken, salad and flan. We witness anyother family leave about 20 mins after they first arrived due to the lack of food and poor quality . They were still charged full price. Owner was outside and didn't show his face. My husband and I both felt sick later in the evening. Can't see this place making it through the month.
Worst of the worst! – The worst "restaurant" I've been to in my almost 50 years of life. From service to food just terrible, terrible, terrible!
Perfect touch – Very relaxing atmosphere with wonderful customer service. Not too fancy, but a little nicer than an Olive Garden or such. The food is suppose to taste different, that's the entire point so don't go there if you're not one to experiment. I loved it and certainly reccommend trying it. The meats are cut different so don't expect the same flavor in the steak as you would normal American steak. Personally, I almost prefer the cut; it's just delightfully different. There are plenty of meats to choose from and you can try them all for the same price, how great is that? You're bound to find something that fancies your tastebuds.
Cheapest meat I've ever tasted – This place has got to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. The meat was so dry and tasteless, the buffet bar had flies landing on everything and most of it looked spoiled. The prices are outrageous as they're trying to compare themselves with Crazy Buffet across the street though they need far to go. Maybe this food is acceptable in third world countries, but this is America where you can buy better quality.
GOOD FOOD..... GREAT PRICE – PARKING IS OK.
BUFFET IS GOOD.. ALTHOUGH needs more of a SELECTION.
CHEF MAKES AN EXCELLENT STEAK!!
Meat buffet bar/grill did not have any meat ready – We hoped this would be a good place to frequent, sorry it wasn't .
The menu pricing is weird,, you have 2 choices, Menu A or Menu B .
With Menu A you get full salad and meat/grill buffet and a glass of wine,
With Menu B you get full salad and meat/grill buffet and a bottle of wine, and a desert..
You can't order a bottle for the table. Wine amount is by menu group selection.
If you select A and your partner selects B, you end up with one full glass of wine, and one full bottle with a glass. Just weird.
Salad bar was extensive and items were different and tasty,,if the serving plates had food in them.
But the biggest problem was the walk up meat/grill buffet.
Cooks were cooking a good selection of meats, BUT, not the ones people wanted.
Pork was still cooking each time we asked. The fish was rubbery, and the Brazilian Picana was not cooked at all when they sliced it onto our plates.
Place was busy, but not so overwhelming that the listed grilled meats couldn't be available when you went to the meat/grill buffet..
The Wait staff was pleasant.
We were very disappointed and will not go back.
best restaurant ever and the price is wonderful – The place is great, very nice decoration, the service is very good. The owners came to the table to check if everything was ok. The argentinean grill was awesome, and the buffet...well, I don't know of anything similar in the area...simply amazing!
I am a fan, visit the place 3 times a week...what else to say? if you are planning to go on weekends, reserve in advance, place is packed...there must be a reason...
Poor service, cold food ,grill area not set up proper. – First time dining here. Went on a Saturday evening and was suprised at the lack of business. We were shown around the resaurant and we decided to give it a try. Many items on the cold bar were dried out looking possibly from sitting out a while but we were able to find a few items that were ok. Ordered our steaks and waited for them to cook. Went to the grill to retrieve them and the cook asked what side items we wanted. I proceeded to watch him take each side item and throw them in a microwave to heat them up. Everything from the grill area as far as side items were not fresh/had to be heated and were still cold. Baked potato was dry as a bone. The steaks we had were terrible. It was cheap steak that I could have gotten from the local G. Corral. If this place got crowded you would never get the steak you ordered. Waitress gave poor service and even left before we were finished. This was so unpleasant our stay only lasted maybe 40 minutes from our time of arrival.
NOT recommended - worst meat I've ever had – I really wanted to like this place. Maybe we were there on a bad night.
The idea is cool. Tables are set around a handsome salad bar/ buffet that features all kinds of delicious chilled food, including some very expensive items - frutti di mare salad, for example, some excellent ham, sliced tongue, etc. We were very impressed and looking forward to trying the grilled meat that gave the place its name.
But things got off to a bad start. The service was chaotic (I only saw two servers for most of our meal, and this was a Sunday night.) Drinks, which are included in the price of the meal, took a long time to arrive and the server, who seemed like an earnest young man, had to be reminded a few times of what we actually wanted. It was also hard getting a clear explanation of how the restaurant actually worked.
The idea, as we eventually deduced, was that you placed your orders at the grill and got potatoes on the side. When we did go up to the grill, it was organized chaos - the cook was alternating between asking people what they wanted and "auctioning off" various meats (sausage, kebabs, pork, etc.) that looked on the verge of being overcooked. I ordered NY strips for my parents and myself and specified medium rare.
Here's a hint: If you're going to have "steak" in the name of your restaurant, the steak should at least be edible. This was not. Gristly, fatty, chewy - it barely qualified as steak. My mother's meat was badly overcooked. Pushing aside the inedible steaks, I went back and got some pork and beef ribs for my father, a kebab for mom and some chicken breast for me. The chicken was the only meat that really qualified as "good." Three of the ribs were pure fat.
For the price ($17.99 for dinner, which includes tea, soda or one glass of beer or wine) it was a ripoff. There's also an option to add another drink and dessert for $26.99, and salad-bar only, at lunch, for $9.99. Lunch is the only option I can recommend.
