HORRIBLE Experience – Facility is beautiful, very nicely designed and decorated. BUT the food service is HORRIBLE! We had 150 guests, and in our menu package, we requested a carving station of brisket and turkey. The server had the smallest pieces of meat on the carving station, and served out SLIVERS of NOTHING! They were very stingy with their servings. And they served us HAM. HAM?!?!?!? Which we DID NOT request! The response from Ramsey (in charge of Lake House) regarding this was that "the guests ate more than they expected so they quickly heated the ham they had for the next event to help us." THEY SHOULD HAVE PREPARED ENOUGH AND ACCORDINGLY! Two briskets and one turkey is not enough for 150 people. And DON'T serve something the bride did not request. I HATE ham and hated the fact that they served this. In my opinion, they have done enough weddings to know that two briskets and one turkey is not enough for 150 people. You ALWAYS prepare more than enough (which is also stated in their contract), and this is something they didn't do.

And they also didn't fill the serving dishes when they were low. The Lake House tells clients that "they prepare more than enough for your guests and will give you all the leftovers". Well, my parents (the bride's parents) had to tell them to refill the pans. Also, the carving station was not always staffed; guests were waiting. THAT IS SAD! And supposedly they had plenty of staff.... IF they had plenty of staff, they would have noticed the pans getting low. I think they just cut corners in food preparation, to make more money. And ham was cheap so they prepared this, instead of the meat that we requested. Even my wedding party and guests said that they were stingy with the meat/food. That is horrible.

We also had a chocolate fountain. It looked NOTHING like the pictures that we were shown (by Kami). The pictures they have (when completing the paperwork to book with them) showed a beautiful chocolate fountain with lots of dipping varieties. For my wedding, it was YET another skimpy presentation. One of our menu items was supposed to Mini Muffalettas. Instead, they served 1/2" slices of a po-boy sandwich.

If you want a beautiful facility, Lake House is perfect. If you want good food and presentation, I DO NOT recommend them. I even called Lake House, a few weeks after my event, and gave them feedback. At the end of my call, I thanked them, yet said I was greatly disappointed. Ramsey hung up on me and never said anything.

HORRIBLE – Well the evening began with appetizers that could be made by anyone accompanied with stale chips, plastic plates, and a refusal to open the bar for another ten minutes. It was then followed with rude employees wearing what looked like pajama pants. They served the salad, which was clearly bagged salad, about 30 minutes before anyone sat down. No one knew whether to eat or not. They then picked up the dirty plates by asking us to pass the plates to to them, stacking them messily on top of one another or using a huge bus tray. They were also kind enough to push you out of the way so they could walk by. They gave you your drinks with their fingers around the rim of your glass where you placed your mouth to sip. There was a menu which led everyone to believe that we could chose our entre. That was not the case. All of the sudden, they brought everyone "prime rib," which was actually overcooked , thinly sliced roast beef - whcih was worse than the piccadilly I had the night before. The roast beef was covered with "hollandaise sauce," i.e., melted cheese. To add to it, they did not cut the white, hard end off the asparagus or cook it for that matter. Nothing was seasoned, including the new potatos. The meal was barely edible. After dinner, they were kind enough to place all of the desert and coffee in a room next to us and tell us to help ourselves. Not to mention, about an hour before the dinner ended, they began refusing to serve us with glasses (which they made us re-use the entire night) and instead provided us with plastic cups. These matched nicely with the mismatched cheap silver and plates used to serve us. This was all wrapped up with a big bow when we realiuzed they had just recently painted the patio, which we could clearly smell and left paint on the bottom of our shoes. Oh.. and did I forget to mention that they clanged glasses together and rolled the keg to the back while speeches were being given. Put it this way, I felt terrible for those who were paying for the meal as it was clearly not what they expected or deserved for their wonderful celebration. If I could, I would forbid anyone from using this poorly educated and rude company. It is blatantly obvious that no one who works for this company has every worked in the hospitality industry and clearly does not care about anything but the money they get in return.

Worst experience planning an event that I have ever had – The lakehouse is a beautiful reception center with excellent food. However, they are more than lacking on their customer service skills. To say I had an unpleasant experience is more than an understatement. They appeared flexible and eager to please, until I signed the contract. I was then assigned an event coordinator who can only be described as unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. She refused to accomadate even my simplist requests, and released my venders without my knowledge. I have planned events with other venues and have never had the difficulties with their employees that I have experienced with Lakehouse. I will never do business with them again, and I do not recommend them to anyone as a reception facility. However, as a catering service, they do have both excellent food and menu options.
