A long time favorite for a romantic dinner or classy HH. I concur with Allison the lamb ragu is wonderful and a $5 Gin martini with extra olives during HH, makes this a winner no matter what time of night I'm there!

With its low ceilings, flickery votives everywhere and intimate loft-like ambiance, this is one of the sexiest dining rooms in the city. They also mix A+ cocktails and have one of the best happy hours around--$5 gimlets and lots of tasty snacks for $6 and under. Which makes it a sexy AND very affordable date night if you go before 6:30pm.

Romantically lit, tucked away in an inconspicuous building with a wonderful seasonal menu. Perfect date night!

This upscale-industrial spot serves up a killer cheese plate, and its a go-to spot for business lunches. Try the farm-fresh salads or the tagliatelle with lamb ragù.

After the long wait – So after waiting for almost an hour (with reservation) we finally were seated. Service was spectacular. Lulu our server was excellent and was there for our every needs. Food was awesome. Everything was above par except for the unacceptable wait. If you have the time the service makes up for it. I would try them again but hopefully next time it won't take as long to be seated. Dominique

Very Happy – My husband and I took my mother-in-law here for a special after Mother's Day dinner. I'm so glad we did. The food was delicious and inventive, the decor was simple and beautiful, with an urban feel. The service was attentive, but not too much so, just right. My MIL was totally impressed, and felt very special that we took her to such a nice place. I noticed they have a happy hour, I'll definitely be going back!

Fantastic Happy Hour – I just tried out their happy hour for the first time ever! The food was a great deal and tasty. Drinks were nicely priced. The best deal being a martini for i think $3 or $4 bucks. Try the lamb sandwich, the mac + cheese, some spiced nuts and a butter lettuce salad. We loved every bite and spent under $30.00 plus tip for a nice little dinner before a movie. Also parking was easy. I am glad they have happy hour now. I can afford to eat there more often.

Sorry to see what has happened to Clark Lewis – Wow, what went wrong? We used to have good times. great wine, good food, here. We loved the urban decor and cool management and wait staff. Then got busy for a while and finally got back to Clark Lewis. I had planned to bring a bunch of guests there over the next few months so it was an incentive to check it out and remind myself of why I liked the place. I'm so glad I did.It was awful. Everything seems different. First the wine was expensive and bad- so bad we couldn't drink a couple of the glasses! There goes $30 down the drain. (who is their sommalier?). Tried to talk to the manager about the wine, pleasantly as I really thought he'd be interested in the feedback (especially at the prices he was charging). But I guess that wasn't his idea of service, he told me what I should do with my opinions. (Honestly, I'm not an idiot when it comes to wine). We left there shocked at the treatment we received by the manager, and finding that the quality had deteriorated a lot. We're not going back, and certainly not taking anyone else there. Sorry to post this bad review, but I think people should at least get the feedback.

FENOMENAL! – We haven't been to all the restaurants in Portland (not yet ;) but this place is definitely our very favorite so far. The menu was very impressive, food wonderful, and the staff was very professional, polite, and well familiar with every single detail on the menu. Great experience! Just booked another dinner for a party of 10 as I want all our friends from San Francisco see that we have better food here in Portland, and for less money!

The best of everything. – My friends and I decided on a whim to meet after work and enjoy a great meal, we are total food snobs and knew that clarklewis would not disappoint. We attacked the drink menu first and my choice the French Leave. Sparkling and fresh, a simple and classic mix of lillet and soda and syrup. Delish! It was indicative of what this place does best- they keep things simple yet inspired and let the ingredients sing. We decided right away to each order the chef's special this way we could get down to gabbing and not labor over the menu. I would highly recommend doing this with a few friends - it is easy to share everything and in the end you basically have sampled half of the menu in one shot. By far the standouts were the Roasted Beets with almonds and salsa cruda, the Ravioli - with fresh ricotta and wild mushrooms- with plenty of meaty hedgehog and trumpet mushrooms and the olive oil poached sturgeon. We were surprised and delighted with the honey glazed pork and flagelot beans with insane caramelized onions that might as well be candy. This dish had all the flavors of down home ham and baked beans but was much more sophisticated. Last but not least - we ended the meal with three deserts- we left the lemon semifreddo untouched - but it had tough competition - the chocolate tipsy cake was taken to another level with the addition of butterscotch prunes (who would have guessed! ) and tiny pillows of meringue - but it was the apple fritters with brown butter ice cream that we are still talking about. We met there at six and lingered until nine, the staff was that great blend of casual and competent, the place was lit up with tons of candles and we really had a great time.

fantastic food! – Dinner this past weekend was to die for. We started the night with a little bit of everything. We had many things from the starters and salads. Shared a pasta course and all had entree's. My favorite was my partner's tuna with chick peas. A must - is an order of Tipsy cake. Cute name for a serious dessert. We ordered so much food we should have invited more people. Although a group of 4 cleaned our plates. This place is worth the trip.
