Excellent Food and Service! – We went on a Sunday evening for dinner. I had visited once before, when this location was a part of "The Keg" franchise. Our server, Charity was young and enthusiastic. She took extremely good care of us. I had the prime rib with prawns and my lady had Salmon with rice pilaf. We each had a bowl of the french onion soup. ALL items were delicious, served at a reasonable and relaxed pace and with a smile. The soup was as good as I remembered from "Keg" days (which is very good indeed) and the entrees were superb. There was no crowd when we arrived, which surprised us, because the value and service were both excellent. We had a wonderful experience and will be visiting again soon.
cooper mt. bar and grill – from the moment we entered the building we were ignored. we stood at the front door for twenty minutes before we were even greeted. when we were greeted it was by the bartender, asking us if we'd just prefer sitting in the bar. we declined stating that we were here with family for a birthday. we then waited for another 8 minutes for the hostess to come seat us. when we finally arrived at our table our waitress was rude and awkward. we told her about our wait at the front and she told us that the hostess, Shelby, was the granddaughter of the owner and that she often leaves people up front and is continuously caught on her cell phone throughout the night. after we ordered it took thirty minutes to receive out salads. at that point we asked if we could get some bread. our waitress, Morgan, told us that she was "super busy" and " she would get it to us when she could." there were two other tables in the whole restaurant, one was being handled by another server. morgan ended up bringing the bread with our dinner, which arrived 55 minutes after we ordered it. our dinner for 4 was 162 dollars. while the food was prepared well the service more than made up for it. poorly ran restaurant with rude, slow service. after all this, our server, Morgan, had the nerve to approach us in the lobby and tell us that the tip we left was the worst she had ever received. GOOD! that was the worst service I had ever received! we will NEVER go back and if you enjoy a good dining experience then i suggest you never dine there.
Delicious Dinner, Great Service – We had dinner last night at the Cooper Mountain Bar and Grill. The food was excellent. We all had steaks or prime rib, and everyone's order was cooked exactly as requested and tasted REALLY good. The service was also very attentive. I hope that more people start going there, because it was EMPTY last night, and I'd hate to see it close down. Also, they have really yummy food on their Happy Hour menu and good beers on tap. Try it out!
not the best thanksgiving I ever had – well we made reservations for 15 of my family members and while the first two of us arrived early we were asked to sit in the bar, I had already had some drinks before we had gotten there and was really not wanting to drink I had a glass of wine.I had gotten up and went to the restroom and when I returned back to the bar my nephew told me the bartender said he was not going to serve me any more,I had not even finished my glass of wine, I asked the bartender FABIO what was up with that, he said I was harrassing the waitress, not true we were in the baer still, I know the real reason was the fact I was GAY and FABIO had a problem with that.I will be sure to let everyone know this place is not a family friendly place and will not return while the bartender who was RUDE fron the moment we walked in is still there.
Not bad, just nothing SPECIAL – My wife and I went here for our anniversary. We had no problems getting a quiet table to ourselves and the ambience is nice. For appetizers we ordered the Seared Bacon Wrapped Scallops and their Creole Barbecued Oysters. The scallops came 6 to an order and were perfectly cooked...wonderful. The oysters, while perfectly cooked and 6 to an order as well left me wanting something....they are advertised as being served with a Creole Barbecue Sauce. I was a Chef for several years and I would never consider Franks Red hot sauce to be considered a creol barbecue sauce. Seriously, that's what the sauce was. Good flavored oysters, just not what I would expect. Then we both had the prime rib, Oscar Style (crab, aparagus and bearnaise sauce over the top). The prime rib was cool and little to no outstanding flavor, the crab was full of shells fragments, the asparagus was done just right and the bearnaise sauce was just right. Even the horseradish sauce on the side was bordering flavorless. My wife, who likes a mild horseradish sauce had issues with the lack of flavor of the sauce.
All in all, I'm not sure if I go back, they are supposed to be known for their prime rib and I was disappointed in that.
It might be great place to go for happy hour or just apps with friends though.
Great value in prime rib – Paid $15.95 for a prime rib dinner with soup or salad. It was as good as $26 prime rib dinners I've had elsewhere.
I've tried other menu items with less success.
Nonetheless, it's an attractive restaurant, the food is ver good, and you can get a table quickly even during Fri/Sat nights.
