Terrible....if you want decent mexican food or a margi....don't go here!!! Your better off at Taco Bell!!
Great Cantina in Lowry – Great neighborhood bar & restaurant. E-Dubbs took great care of us even when it was slow in the middle of the afternoon. Great selection of tacos and some good drink specials too. Not authentic mexican, but rather creative and flavorful tex-mex americano style. I would definitely recommend this place to others and I will be back soon.
they changed their salsa for the worse – We tried a lot of Mexican restaurants when we moved to Denver, and Salty Rita's chips and salsa used to be excellent. Not any more. In an effort to be original, they tossed out an excellent salsa recipe (it was too "boring" according to the cook who spoke with me) and replaced it with two equally nasty concoctions, the red salsa now predominately heavy on the black pepper and I suspect adobo chiles. They changed the chips too. Now they are whole corn tortillas deep fried and left for the diner to break up, which is very messy. The food was only average at best, but we used to order chips and salsa to go on a regular basis. Why mangle a good thing just to be different? Sometimes simple is better. What's even worse is the owner now features these salsas in all 19 of his neighborhood restaurants, a move that I can only imagine will fail miserably with their regular patrons. I guess the salsa search will continue elsewhere.
Best Mexican Food Ever – Happy hour is awesome. Food amazing. Seriously the nachos are a work of art. The chile relleno is a thick pomblano pepper with lots of delicious asadero cheeses. I can't wait to go back!
Salty Rita's a so so – Salty Rita's has one of the best chips and salsa's I have ever had. The wait staff is young but they seem to keep up. I prefer a lot of the 'traditional' type mexican food and that is lacking on their menu. It might be dark in there but it's a fun atmosphere.
Good drinks, great chips and salsa. food is ok – I figured i would be the first to review, and at least give people an idea. I just moved to denver in april and have taken a liking to salty ritas. Despite its dark interior and odd customers is a pretty good place to get a drink. the place is comfortable and they make good drinks. The wait staff is ok, and very young. The dinner food isn't very good and I dont recomend it for dining, but if you are looking for a good margarita with great chips and salsa, this is a pretty good option.
