Don't Waste Your Time – To be consistent with the other reviews the Customer Service was terrible. Not only will I never eat there again but the old saying of if one person has a bad experience and then they tell 10 others - well!

I took my parents who were visiting from out of town and my daughter and was very excited about trying this place. My mom wanted the Baby Spinach salad with organic greens instead of spinach and I wanted the same salad but without goat cheese since I don't eat goat cheese. Silly me - I made the mistake of asking if there was any other kind of cheese I could get. The waiter went to ask and out came the owner. Without a doubt the MOST RUDE PERSON EVER!! He started to reprimand me that the salad comes the way it does because of the "flavor profile" and for me to want to change 2 things - they are not going to do that. I think his EGO is all over this very childish reaction and it was just great for his business!! This nasty person definately has anger management issues.

My mom also ordered the Handmade Egg Fettuccini and gave me a taste. It was horrible. We ended up sending it back and we are talking about 2 people that love and adore pasta. My dad even said it tasted very acidy.

What a shame to have to write a review like this but when it's the owner acting this way what else can you do.

Very bad customer service. Won't ever try to eat there again – I have to agree with the "terrible service" review again. I'm guessing that things go well enough most of the time, but from the various reviews out there, it really seems like these bad experiences happen pretty frequently...

In my case, I didn't even get to the food because the person who was seating people was so rude to us (telling us twice in a catty and accusatory fashion that he had called our name many times when his own staff had messed up). After I told him that it was his own staff's fault, he told us that if we didn't like it, we should go somewhere else. I accepted his advice, and did not eat there, nor will I ever. The food doesn't even look that good anyway.

Normally, I don't write these reviews. Instead, I call the place and find the person who cares about the customer service. In this case, however, I found out that the rude person was the owner, Brandon. Surprising that an owner would treat customers so poorly.

In sum, if you care about customer service, there are many better options.

Best restaurant for amazing food, ambiance, and overall dining experience! – This is the coolest and most delicious restaurant I've been to in OC in years. It's intimate without being crowded, hip without being pretentious and the food is legitimately wonderful. You can taste the fresh ingredients in everything and the original spin the chef puts on classics like mac and cheese and paninis are really cool. I'm going to go back once a week until I've tried everything on the menu.

Terrible service, what a waste – I came with a business client hoping for a classy and unique dinner experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling embarrassed to have taken him here. The service is borderline rude and absentee and starts off with a pitch for the tasting menu that is reminiscent of a used-car salesman in how aggressively it is promoted.

Rather than describe the menu's ingredients and flavors, our waiter went on and on about it being the best value (perhaps attempting to counter the fact that it is also the most expensive at $ 60 per person) and how they pour you more wine than in their regular glasses, etc. etc. Then he set off to repeat the same aggressive pitch to every table around us, so we heard it several more times. It immediately set the tone for what turned out to be a night of tacky and amateurish service in a TINY place that is more reminiscent of a stuffy closet than a restaurant. I had looked at the website and assumed the decor would be interesting and the service attentive, but I was sorely disappointed. The place was cramped and bland and, though the food looked good on paper, the preparation was sub-par to say the least. This place was regrettable through and through.

Best wine selection at excellent prices anywhere! – The Old Vine Cafe is truly a Local's Cafe. The day begins with absolutely the best breakfast in town. Their lunch experience features a collection of fine casual recipes in a friedly atmosphere with excellent beers and wines. Dinner is intimate with a personal touch and a cuisine not matched by many restaurants in the OC.

But the wines are absolutly outstanding. General Manager Brandon takes great effort to stock only delicious wine selections from around the world. With only a modest mark-up, he allows everyone to taste and appreciate wines that would normally be out of reach cost wise for most diners. He also sells all of his wines right there at the reastaurant. Also, try the Monday wine and cheese tasting. The best I have ever had.

Old Vine Cafe is a must for all who love fine cuisine and appreciate the personal touch in service, selection, and dining pleasure.
