Worked for me – I was looking around on this site looking for a place other than BestBuy to take my computer to be fixed. When I read the first review I had to go the store to see how bad it was because if any of it were true there would be no way they would still be in business. When I got there all the people were very nice to me and I found that the repair prices were much cheeper than BestBuy, they also had a lot of parts and products which seemed fairly priced but I only needed a repair. I was very happy with their service. It was cheeper, faster, and just all around better than other places I have been before. I had a great experience at computer works and everyone I have talked to said they did as well. I guess it is impossible to please everyone and anything can be written online. I always try things out before listening to a review and in this case I am glad I did.

Actually Very Good Service. – It is interesting how people trash a place and have nothing to complain about. Computerworks has been around for a long time compared to some of the fly by night places here in town. I try to shy away from the other small locations because they do not have the variety the Computerworks has. The prices are better than Best Buy for repairs and they fix anything. I have had all of my work done for my business and home and always go to them. One visit and you will to.

Sir Charles Bowens Thief – This “business”, if you can call it that, is owned and operated by Charles Bowen, or “SIR” Charles as he refers to himself. His wife’s name is Dian. She also has an office in the Merchant Dr. Computer Works store. His stepson, Justin Benshoof, is also in on the hook and crook. He is the General Manger and listed as the President of the business.

Here is “Sir Charles Bowens” private phone number and his personal e-mail address:

sircharles@cworksonlinedotcom , 865-387-5150. This is his personal phone number. This is the number that his employee’s use to call him because he will not answer any other phone. Why? Must be because he is afraid the person on the other end might be someone he has already cheated out of their money.

Just so you know, he drives a gold colored Lincoln Navigator with 22” chrome rims. His wife drives a late model charcoal gray Audi, one of the sport models.

This family is a bunch of thieves!

I will tell you this also. I know for a fact that a vast majority of his computer inventory comes from “public” auctions at the University of Tennessee. He pays about 25 dollars each for them, then, puts them on the store shelves for nearly 300 dollars. This is a public auction, people, you can go there and buy them yourselves for the same kind of money!

Also, these people buy a vast amount of their inventory, the parts they use to repair your computer and, when they have to “order” a computer, most of this stuff comes from Ebay. You can order your stuff there yourself!

Just to show you this man’s character, several of his former employees have cases pending against him at the local Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce. Several of them have filed lawsuits (public record). Why? He has a policy of not giving his former employees their last pay check.

How do they get away with it? They hire young people who do not know they have rights and, for the most part, cannot afford an attorney to defend them.

I know some of these employees. When they were terminated, they went to sign up on unemployment and were told that Computer Works had not paid any in on them. Furthermore, what Computer Works had paid on some, was much lower than what their year to date check stub showed.

My question is this: How can the city of Knoxville and Knox County and the state of Tennessee allow this type of business to continue to steal, cheat, lie and defraud their citizens? Where are our City councilmen? Where is Don Dare?

The Consumer Affairs, the ACLU and most importantly, where are those who are supposed to be enforcing the laws?

By the way, “Sir Charles” has not even bothered to pay the property tax on his Merchant Drive store (public record) in over two years.

Also, when you pay in cash, it tends to go straight into “Sir” Charles pocket and no tax is paid on it. The IRS, I was told by a very reliable source, has threated to shut him down at least once.

When confronted about his business practices, he laughs. It is all a joke to him. He and his family apparently think they are above the law. I guess that is an easy philosophy to adopt when you are getting away with it.
