You don't get what you pay for – I took my husband to Massage Envy to get a couples massage for our anniversary. I booked a week ahead of time, and since we were new customers, we were asked to come in early to fill out paperwork. We arrived early, filled out our paperwork and then spent the next 15 minutes being ignored by the office staff. They were more concerned about their Easter plans and dropping the F bomb every other word to each other.
When they finally realized we were sitting there staring at them, they showed us around and took us to the Tranquility Room, to spend another 10 minutes waiting there. Time count.... 15 minutes into our massage time already.
By the time the therapists started working on us, it was 20 past the hour and our massages lasted a whopping 30-35 minutes. Not exactly what I was promised, nor paid for. Completely disappointed. My husband had never had a massage before and he was really disappointed all together.
All in all, it was a huge bummer. The office staff needs to actually pay attention to the customers and act professional.
Terrible customer service, dishonest. – I'm an unsatisfied customer. Last year I bought a 6-month subscription for one pre-paid massage a month. After the 6 months were up they called us and said they were going to put a "freeze" on our account. That sounded fine. But after one month, they lifted the freeze without telling us and began billing us again monthly, WITHOUT OUR APROVAL.
On top of that, this happened on Wednesday. I have 4 pre-paid massages left at Massage Envy. I had a massage booked Wednesday and when I got there they said "oh dear, you payment didn't go through this month." I said "Yeah, because our subscription was only for 6 months and then we cancelled it, but I still have 4 massages I paid for but didn't get yet." The lady said "Yeaaaah, well, you can't use those massages until you've paid for this month." I said 'But we cancelled it. I still paid for those 4 that are left." She said "I'm sorry, but you can't access those because your account is frozen until you pay for this month. But you can go ahead and get your massage and just pay when you're done." I told them that I'm not going to pay for another one when I've already paid for 4 that I haven't gotten yet, and I left without my massage.
Sometimes Good, Sometimes Bad---- depends on the day and the LMP – I've been going to Massage Envy several months now. It has several things that are a plus: location, hours, pricing, parking. The decor is nice---- an asian/ grape theme going on. There are several things that are lacking: phone etiquette. There is one man with a deep, smug voice that definitely sounds like he SHOULD NEVER BE ON THE PHONES. I don't know if he thinks he's amusing but when he goes to look up appointments, he says things in a drawl. Like, "Wellll, let me jussst seee." Every time I call I hope it's not him. Another is the booking. For the past three months they've been using the excuse they're changing over their computers. Is that why they don't do confirmation calls? Is that why they can't tell me who massaged me the first two times? Is that why they can't keep track of whether or not I receive a free massage for a referral? Also, two massage therapists have had bad breath. It's not as though they just ate a cheeseburger w/ feta and raw onions-- they seriously had halitosis. Please put an Altoid in your mouth before a massage session! Drink more water! No one wants to turn over and have your hot rank breath breathing right on them while you massage their neck and head. Not the best way to end a session.
