Kenzo Needs To Stick To Sushi. ONLY. – This place is small but we liked that. The menu is VERY limited. We have been there only 2ce and although the service seemed OK , in the end, no way.

Our fish was TOTAL bones (salmon !). bones were sticking out everywhere. Of course we sent it back. At the 111 Chophouse , the salmon is cooked perfectly. NO bones at all. So, one has to wonder why Kenzo ended up in Worcester after Boston and Montreal ? I suspect that, from these other reviews, HIS forte' is SUSHI, and that is fine, but why try to cook other entrees that are totally cooked or prepared improperly.

The 2nd time, we had chicken. So tough, it was like leather. (El Basha, same owners, cooks chicken just as poorly, so we cannot totally blame Kenzo for that).

Never went back. Have advised friends to avoid Haiku.

Sushi is truly an art at Haiku – Guide to an amazing time at Haiku.

1. Introduce yourself to Kenzo. He will always remember your name and create you on each return visit.

2. Sit at the Sushi bar if you can, and watch him and his wife create their masterpieces.

3. Try, try try try. Eat and eat and eat. He will continue to make you sushi concoctions that you have never dreamed of, in addition to all of what is on the menu.

The waitstaff are fantastic and the manager even remembers your drink order - or is that because I come in all the time? You can tell though that they take the care to get to know each and every one of their customers, and provide the highest level of service to each person - new or regular.

Great first date - second date - any date place, family spot, great for parties. In fact great even to go by yourself or just grab takeout. In fact I cannot even think of one reason why if you like Sushi, why you would not go!

Best sushi and sashimi in Worcester area – Chef Kenzo is a very creative Vietnamese chef. His Japanese/Vietnamese fusion style of sushi is something I hold in high regards. Kenzo has many years of cooking experience in many different places including Japan, Montreal and Boston. Kenzo's masterpieces emphasizes on both visual and taste enjoyments. Check out the exotic mango tuna maki which is not on the menu. Kenzo is also keen on creating new sauces and matching flavors. One of my favorites is the ginger sauce, which goes surprisingly well with many different kinds of sushi and maki. The fishes here are always fresh, but don't hesitate to ask Kenzo for recommendations of the freshest catches when you're there.

Now, most Japanese restaurants have terrible wine lists. Haiku, in contrast, has a very remarkable wine list of local and imported red & white wines. This is probably because they serve French food as well. The place serves great sake too. Check out the Horin premium sake.

Haiku's dining environment is quite classy. Even though the place isn't too big, the comfortable atmosphere is well-established. The restaurant consist of 3 parts - the tables, the sushi bar, and the bar. I have been to all 3, and found that they all provide the optimal environment for their purposes. The tables comfortably provides a semi-formal dining environment, the sushi bar provides interaction with chef and visual enjoyment of sushi-making, the bar provides a nice chatting spot facing a flat screen TV, and it sometimes even provides some eye-candy...

All servers serve well, and bartender/server Jack is knowledgeable in wines and liquors. His recommendations of wines and premium sakes have never disappointed me. George the manager is a very friendly guy, and contributes greatly in maintaining a happy dining atmosphere.
