Government Ripoff – Tomorrow is my second visit with this group. I have 5 private doctors confirming my disability, but their "doctors" disagree. Seagate's admin staff and x-ray techs are polite, professional & caring. But, the so-called medical staff are no more doctors than the guys who serve fast food. Exams are 5 mins or less and cannot be considered thorough enough to make such life-changing decisions. There were a few people in the waiting room who did not appear ill, but illness is not always outwardly visible. These "doctors" never even look you in the eye. Anyone can put on a lab coat, but that does not make them a doctor. There are no real doctors at this facility.....and that is why they were hired by the federal government. The tax money I paid for over 40 years is better spent on illegals than US citizens.

Who's looking for free money? – I went to Seagate for the first time this week. Yes, I read the reviews but you can't believe what they say. They are just angry because they were probably to they were not disabled now that seems logical. I have to say, there are too many people claiming to be disabled. I met a lady with an oxygen tank but she was smoking a cigarette (c'mon, really). There was another lady who said she cannot worked because she was too depressed and she had trouble getting up in the morning. I am disabled because I have severe arthritis and I cannot open my hands. Our government is broke because of people who are really just too lazy to get a job. Some of us really deserve getting disability and if you were denied, good - go get a job.

I trusted the Judge, silly me – I was just in shock after my last visit to this medical group. A friend drove me and helped me get dressed after Dr. Kangaroo examined me. ISN'T ANYONE OUT THERE INVESTIGATING this sham??

Its hard enough being disabled and the fact that the judge I TRUSTED must have some idea, even though I

told him I didn't trust SEAGATE'S Drs from my first visit.

I knew after my 11 minute psych evaluation ( the Dr. acted like he was late for happy hour somewhere)

beware – if you are sent to seagate medical group for a "second opinion" by a government entity, be sure to get a copy of the report; i did, and my report had information regarding a completely different patient in some paragraphs, yet my disability status was based on that person's information; luckily i had a copy of the report and was able to clear up the problem; was the doctor neglient, sloppy, or exactly what? in any event, just be sure you get a copy of your report; this is one poorly run, sleazy outfit and our tax dollars are paying for this

Beware of Seagate and Colette Valette – This is a sham medical group that never provides any medical services but exists to help the government deny disability SSI and SSA benefits. The doctors working for Seagate always find claimants not disabled so if the government tells you to go to Seagate, tell them no, and tell them to send you to some real practicing doctors. The whole Seagate group is a scam on claimants, a fake and a big fraud. They have been paid by Social Security Administration and State Disability Group to render opinions of non-disability which would be used by the Agency to deny benefits, so beware and DON'T GO. The SSA has no right to force you to go to Seagate Evaluation, anyone else is better. The other scam is the Colette Valette PhD mental psychological group. Those two are the worst in San Diego.

Bad Medicine – Funny how the last three reviewers had such a similar experience to my own with this messed up medical group. My first response to my boyfriend upon leaving the evaluation was, "i doubt very seriously that woman was a real doctor".

I have been receiving cancer treatments for over a year now, and they have caused me many problems. Worse than the problems the cancer treatments have caused is the pain, humiliation, and stress SSI has created. This exam was atrocious. After Dr. Erics contradicted everything my other doctors have said about my condition (arthritis, osteopenia, and low bone density), she proceeded in making me touch my toes, walk oddly on my feet, and caused me serious pain that continues. She informed me that my osteopenia was very slight, and my arthritis was so minimal, she could pull 70% of the population from off of the street, and they would have worse arthritis in their backs than me. None of which would cause me pain. She said my pain was caused by inactivity.

After my exam with her, i had an appointment to see an orthopedic (an actual expert for my condition), and found that i in fact did not have osteopenia, but full blown osteoporosis. The bones in my back are so soft, bending over (to touch toes?) could result in a broken back, and i may even have cancer spread to my spine. Well, no wonder i have pain after the pseudo docs examination!

This medical group is a total farce, and are practicing medicine dangerously. Their stupid doctors are NOT specialists in the needed fields for properly evaluating someone with any kind of serious ailment. I smell trouble for them? Anyone interested in joining me?

Do not expect much!!! – I was told to go to this office to verify a disability. I brought along everything they asked me to bring. When I met with the doctor he was rude and did not listen to anything I had to say. He took very few notes on my condition or medical history. He asked if I had any tests done and when I said yes he asked for the copies of those tests. They never asked me to bring any of that nor did they ask me to sign a medical release to get copies from my doctors.

The office is clean but very old. The staff is mostly rude and the nurse complained she had to see patients all day and it was 9 am. The front door is so hard to open I am glad I had someone with me to help. The

X-ray tech was very nice and spoke very calm and sweetly. She made pleasant conversation and made me feel very relaxed - she was the only one.

It is very sad that this is financed by my tax dollars. I wish I could have gone elsewhere.

Unprofessional manner for a State recommended medical exam – This appointment was arranged by the Dept. of Social Services(Lucy K. Hildebrand). I arrived with the requested items ( medications and picture ID) The doctor informed me I would need to come back with my prosthetic leg for gait evaluation. I asked why the appt. confirmation didnt include the request to bring the leg with me, her response was flippant- stating I should wear the prosthetic all the time- I informed her of the problems with socket size and resulting skin breakdown, and back problems- The leg is being modified for fit- I will come back in one week for the exam with the leg- This doctors name is Dr. Akins-before she checked my ears, nose and throat, she asked how I lost my leg- A motorcycle accident caused a left leg amputation above the knee- TBI(traumatic brain injury) Abodominal degloving and complete fracture of left arm- resulting in very limited range of motion and strength- Her response to this was belittling to my character and she went on to comment on my tattoos- "Did you get the tattooos before or after the accident?"" And this ensued a lecture on how to present myself to a prospective employer- As to hide the tattoos with clothing or makeup to make a better impression. The exam did not include attention to the health of the amputation or any of the other injuries. I left the office with a feeling of an inadequate service and attention to the required evaluation of my physcial disabilities. The personal opionions of this woman have caused a great amount of undue stress resulting in several seizures. I am going to contact the Department of Social Services to make an official complaint and to arrange another evaluation.

Unprofessional and rude. – I have over 20 years of documentation, tests and surgeries by the top Drs in their fields.

Not only did this Dr treat me very rudely and in an unprofessional manner, she contradicted every documented item. The worst was a comment about my underwear! With no records

and history, she made comments that even a person with no medical training would have

to find ridiculous and totally erroneous. Shame on her for treating people in such a shoddy

and disrespectful way! No wonder there is a need for lawyers in our society! Many others

have expressed the same type of treatment by this Dr. Make your complaints to: SSA.COMMENTS@SSA.GOV If enough people tell of their experiences with this group, it's possible something may be done. We intend to get an attorney, although it is not our preference. Very sad that someone like this group of Drs can treat a veteran Viet Nam Era)

and hard-working tax-payer (for over 35 years) so disrespectfully and sad that my tax

dollars have been used to employ her/them. Shame on you Seagate!
