Overpriced, some so-so items, but oysters were delicious – King's Fish House is pleasant but pricy. We chose to dine during their weekday early bird hours to get our first impression of this restaurant. This discounted menu is really just a happy hour menu served in the large bar dining area, not meals you can order in the main dining room. The happy hour bar menu is quite limited, with only about 7 choices of appetizer portions.

I don't recommend their appetizer fish tacos: I received 3 small piles of mostly salsa on 3" diameter soft tacos in a basket. If those small bits of white stuff in the taco were fish, I surely couldn't taste it. Plus, the cold toppings made the tiny tacos cool, so I sent mine back to be reheated. The kitchen made me new ones, but they were only warm, not hot. Save your $$ and go to Rubio's for fish tacos instead.

The appetizer calimari was strange. I received a basket with a large handful of so-so fried small rings of calimari (squid), but half of the portion was made up of fried squid LEGS which were chewy and flavorless. The red cocktail sauce was nice and tangy, though.

We also ordered the fried oysters dinner platter from the regular menu and by far they was the best fried oysters we've tried in years. The oysters were obviously very fresh and of high quality. On the side came average quality fries and coleslaw.

After our food was served, fresh bread was finally delivered. Apparently it had still been baking. It was delicious for white bread, lightly crust on the outside, soft yeasty chewy on the inside.

Service was spotty. It seems as if King's has cut down on the number and hours of employees during these tough economic times. All of the bar area booth tables had been dirty when we arrived and it took more than 10 minutes to flag down a busboy to clean our table.

King's Fish House is nice enough for a meal if you can handle the overpriced selections and hit-and-miss bar food specials.

Save your time and money – Decided to try it when we had some family in town. Very disapointing..especially for the price. We made tried to make reservations for 6 only to be told they won't do them that early. Then we got there and they were DEAD..so we got seated early. We asked if they had happy hour (it was a Monday night) and were informed they only honored happy hour prices at the bar..okay fine..so we order drinks...15 minutes later they arrived. Then we ordered food..took way too long to get..then they forgot my 3 year old sons burger!! My kid sat there picking off of everyone elses plate until they brought it..towards the end of our meal. No apology or anything. My seafood was rubbery and not fresh tasting at all. Honestly, we have had better food and alot better service at Red Lobster. Save yourself an hour and a half and 100 bucks and go to Red Lobster. At least then you won't be expecting anything great...
