Myself and several friends visited this bar. We all checked our coats with David at coat check. About an hour and a half later we came to collect our coats however my coat was strangely unaccounted for. Understandably upset I did not want to leave without the coat that had just been checked, but was told to leave and come back the next day. When I came back the next day my coat was not there. I then spoke with the proprietor Tommy who gave me his card and told me to call about it later. The next day I called. His friendly demeanor was now agitated and irritable. He tells me he checked the security footage and I was never in the bar! I tell him I have pictures of myself there, wearing my coat. I also inform him that I have several friends who can verify my attendance. He tells me he doesn't have time to do this for everyone. I noted this comment and asked him how many peoples jackets his bar loses on a regular basis. his response was to text him with the approximate time the coat was checked. I do so, and then follow up that text message with another message a day later and receive no further correspondence. The rest of the bar staff were friendly and courteous but the lack of effort to restore a coat that was lost by the bar is unconscionable. Disrespectful coat check and apathetic owner. There are PLENTY of other options, and you wont have to worry about getting your jacket stolen by a catty coat check diva.

Never a good time – My friend dragged me to the ritz this weekend and, again, it ruined my night. the staff looked miserable and were more concerned with talking to each other than serving drinks. The crowd is incredibly rude and appear to go there just to pretend they are better than everyone else and roll their eyes as you try to walk through no matter how politely you say "excuse me". The bar is right past the front door and is unusually close to the wall making the only walkway to the main area a packed nightmare. Sorry i usually don't like to leave angry reviews but this has happened on every occasion i have gone.

Best time! – I went here last night (Friday) for only the second time. I had a great time! The place was packed and the dancefloor was crazy crowded but there were no attitudes and a good mix of ages. You can't help but bump into other people but no once cares. The drinks are weak but I took care of that by giving the bartender a healthy tip and making sure I patronized only him, problem solved. The dancefloor was littered with ice, plastic cups, bottles and spilled drinks but who cares? It's simple, don't go in with an attitude, you WILL have fun here and you can find someone here. When we arrived the line to get in was incredibly long but we got in fast. If you drive in leave your coat in your car because the line for the coat check takes forever.

Simply the Best!!!!!!!! – This is where it's at! My friends and I go to the Ritz almost every day, I know we drink allot, with that being said the staff, the music, and the atmosphere, with it's outside deck can't be beat. I can't brag about this bar enough, I mean no other bar in Hell's Kitchen has won HX's Best Bar two years in a row, also Genre Magazine rates it number 1 in NYC. The drinks are great and the MUSIC!!! WOW the MUSIC ROCKS!! SEE YOU THERE!!!

hottest bar in Hells Kitchen – i was hanging out with some of my friends in hells kitchen, went to a couple of bars and most of them were boring with the same usual people. Later that night one of my friends called me from the hottest bar in hells kitchen, The Ritz. He told me that he was having a blast and that i needed to get there immediately. So i headed over and i had the greatest time there. First of all, the place its great, two floors very nicely decorated and it certainly had a party mood; all the people were dancing to the great music by the super friendly DJ. The drinks were fantastic, and so were all the hot and nice bartenders. I strongly recommend The Ritz if you want to have a great and fun night out =]

Should really be called "Attitude Bar" – I went down to Ritz on a Friday evening after a particularly boring time at Posh...I shoulda guessed from the people lining up that this was going to be a BIG mistake. This place doesn't even deserve proper paragraphs being written about it so I'll just make a few random comments. First, bartender: bad attitude, slow service, not the least bit attractive, and would have looked better if he kept his shirt on. Second, most of the clientele! SERIOULSY, even the ugly people have serious attitude problems at The Ritz. Even people who are probably quite pleasant before they step inside this vile place...they all develop a mean, bitchy, unfriendly attitude once they get inside. God, and all the 30-something guys with spiky teenage haircuts...pretty tragic. Never again, that's all I can say. Could not see ONE redeeming feature about this sh**hole of a bar. Of course, if you ARE a mean, bitchy queen then you'll probably LOVE the place. UGHHH!

A bi-level cocktail lounge in Hell's Kitchen also gives its happy hour regulars room to dance. – In Short
This high-energy gay bar in Hell's Kitchen tweaks the neighborhood lounge formula with focus group precision: Its seafaring theme (caged ship lanterns and polished brass fixtures) promises a wayward sailor or two, and a large, strobe-lit dance floor supplements typical happy-hour posing. The wall-to-wall crowd skews young and mixed, no doubt drawn to resident DJs who aren't afraid to throw some hip-hop into the fold. The vibe in the upstairs lounge is more subdued, with leather sofas and a second bar.

Hits: Diverse mix of patrons who show up regularly throughout the week.

Misses: Crowd control can be lacking on weekends.

Great Music, WEAK drinks – The drinks here tasted like water and were the size of dixie cups. Hardly anything for $7. The music is good, crowd is very unassuming.
