Never on time and RUDE!. went on 6-16-2010 at 11:40, they were closed. return back at 12:15... still closed... called around 3:00 and asked what time they are open for business and the man on the other end said in a annoying snap tone of voice "We are Open NOW!!!" and hung up. they state that they are open 11:00AM.. that is a LIE and DISHONEST!

Bad atmosphere. I hate the service, I hate the fact that mostly everyone there are regulars and when u go in they give u a look like u are not welcome. Service very slow. Waitresses are bitchy. Food, not that bad. Skip it!!

DON'T GO THERE!!!. Although we love the feel of the place and the concept, we will NEVER be going back because of the awful experience we had last time we were there.The terrible service does incredible injustice to the owner's good taste.

We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to us with menus with an empty restaurant at 8PM on a Tuesday (there were ONE other table -friends of the waitress).My husband ordered a Hookah and the rest of us ordered food.We waited for about 10 minutes and figured out that the waitress forgot it so he got up and went to the table where the waitress was smoking her hookah and drinking with her friends and tapped her on the shoulder. She admitted she forgot.

After we ate (food was great as always)I saw the wairess friends smoking cigarettes and I asked her if I can also light one up so I did not have to go outside.She said no.I then asked why that table was allowed to smoke and we weren't and she said " well, they come in a lot..."

EXCUSE ME, DO I SENSE ETHNIC DISCRIMINATION IN MY OWN COUNRTY?!?!?

We decided to go and asked for the bill. The mango juice we never got was on there and the tea that was anounced $3 on the menu, was charged almost double on the bill (it was $5).I asked her for a menu,showed her the price difference and asked her to change it to what the menu listed. She didn't care, she said "the prices change".

"Why did you not tell me before I ordered the tea, I would have gotten something else, $5 for a tea is a little exaggerate - not event 3 star restaurants in the City charge that? "

Anyway, my issue is not with the way they price things -everyone in entitled to charge as much as they want. My issue is with the fact that I feel that they tried to scam me with showing a different price on the menu.

I will let all of my friends to not go there anymore and I will post this online anywhere I can so that everyone will know what kind of business you run.

DO NOT go to dandana service is HORRIBLE!. I went with my friends to Dandana the waitress had a bitchy attitude she wa some chubby brunette girl with an egyptian accent. She charged us extra money for drinks we never ordered! When we asked her to correct it she said the prices increase after 9 which is bs because it never said anywhere in the menu about that. We did not leave her a good tip for that reason and she had a nasty attitude to ask for more tip and we told her you cheated us by charging us more! Also we wanted tap water and she said oh we don't have that we only have bottled water which is 3 bucks and its turns out she bullshitted us cuz my friend got tap water later from a another waiter! IF ur drunk WATCH OUT dey will higher ur bill cuz dey kno u will not check u will just give them the money! Also pay in cash cuz da place is really shady!

horrible waitress. I went here one Friday evening with my friends and the service was good up until the end. my friends ordered ice tea and in the menu it costs 3 dollars, however at the beginning they ordered water which costs 3 dollars each but they decided to change it for ice tea that cost 3 dollars each. Anyway in the end when we received our check the lady added the 6 dollars for 2 waters plus an extra four dollars for ice tea which wasn't necessary. When my friends explained about the incident in the check the lady denied it and said after 9pm Ice tea costs 5 dollars each which is why she added four extra dollars which totally doesn't make sense. So the service is horrible and when we asked to speak to the manager she denied. I wouldn't recommend this place plus the music is way too loud.

Avoid if you are looking for atentive service and like good music. I decided to take my parents in law out for Moroccan food. I heard about this place and decided to check it out. Well, the food was ok, nothing exceptional. But the service (wait, which service?) was beyond horrible. The worse service I had my entire life so far. And I eat out at least 3 times /week!!! The waitress forgot our order and was in a terrible mood. We were even afraid to say something that could make her mood even worse. Of course, if she had stopped at least once in our table to check it, we would have had the opportunity to complain that we had no food/drinks after 15 minutes waiting (and the place had just 2 tables at the time). The music was so loud we couldn't talk, even though was 8 pm and the restaurant was dead. We ask them to lower the music down, but the Manager/Owner (whoever he is) instead raised it. If you look to a decent environment/food/service when you go out, RUN AWAY from this place. I had to spend the rest of the night apologizing to my family.

service ,musicc. i went to dandana the last saturday with some friends , so we order some food and hukah whtever , the waitress was a blonde girl !!!! so they bring the hukahs in 5 min and she forget the food , we was waiiting for the food in 45 min then the waitress she comes and shesaiid what u guys did u order ??????? its wass seriously abbbbaaad night even they was having a dj and music stops all the times , was so crazy that night

Bark Bark Bark. I went to Dandana on a pleasant Sunday evening hoping to sit outside and enjoy a beer and a hookah. I have been here before and it has always been pretty decent accept that the service is slightly slow on occasion. Now the owner has decided to tie his dog outside and all it does is bark. Who wants to listen to a German Sheperd bark all night when you are trying to converse with your company? This really ruined my evening and I would suggest not bringing the dog and just tieing out in the street. I wasn't the only person rolling my eyes there that night.

Chill vibe.... Definitely worth checking out.. I was at Dandana this past Saturday night and I must say that I was pretty impressed. I used to smoke hookah a lot in the past and I've visited almost every single hookah spot on Steinway. Dandana puts all of them to shame. This place has a coooool chill out, vibe to it. We were a group of about 10 people and they seated us towards the back where the seating was such that some of us were lounging back and puffin on some hookah while sipping on our mint tea. I ordered the Sahlep (hot drink) and was dissapointed as I have had better but the mint tea definitely made up for it. We did not order any food because we went to Dandana after dinner but we got an awesome fruit plate and some drinks. The staff was attentive (which is a surprise for hookah spots because the service is almost always horrible). Overall we had an awesome time and I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone who wants a more sophisticated hookah lounge experience.
