Good experience at Must Luv Dogs. – I've left my dog, Crow with this kennel twice and found it to be clean, the staff to be polite and the owner, energetic. The prices were reasonable and my dog came back happy and tired. I would definitely recommend this place.
Under new ownership as of July 2011 – Must Luv Dogs is under new ownership as of July 2011, with many improvements underway. Feel free to learn more about us and our new approach at our revamped website. We look forward to meeting you and your dog and having the chance to serve you.
Terrible Place for Boarding!! – I gave this place two stars only because they are decent for daycare for a few hours if you are in need, but other than that, do not go here. I have two small dogs and they have both been going here for over a year. When we started going here, the staff and owners were different, except for Edgar who has remained one of the only employees that is a constant. He is amazing, knows about dogs, and should be the owner.
I dropped my dogs off on two occasions. One time, my husband went to pick them up from daycare but forgot their bowls, so he went back to Must Luv Dogs and they were closing. He saw the owner, Rachel, walk out with two dogs and he asked her if she was working the night shift. She told him she was taking them home to her apartment because they were renovating. I am sure the owners of these dogs would be furious if they knew their dogs were not staying there for the night. She then proceeded to tell him that the delivery guy from the pizza shop next door, Edwin, would be covering the overnight shift with all the dogs because they were short staffed. Edwin does not have any experience with dogs and to leave him to care for dogs overnight alone is highly irresponsible. The most unprofessional thing is that, none of the owners were told of any of this.
The second occasion happened when I dropped my dogs off for a weekend of boarding. I gave them canned food that needed to be refrigerated once opened an d when I picked them up from boarding after the weekend was over, my dogs looked skinny, as if they hadn't eaten much and were very thirsty. One of my dogs drank water from the front for a minute and the other one came home and couldn't stop drinking. When Rachel gave me the food, I noticed a pungent smell, but wasn't sure where it was coming from. When I got home, I noticed their food was terribly spoiled. I called Rachel right away and asked her if she refrigerated the food and if this terrible smelling food was fed to my dogs. She seemed clueless and asked the guy who worked the shift. She said he said he fed them the food that morning and that the food was always refrigerated. I told her over the phone that when I came home, the food was warm, smelled like garbage and did not seem like it was refrigerated at all. She did not apologize, try to get to the bottom of it, nor seem concerned for my dogs. She just said, "Well, he said he refrigerate it." She did not over a credit or anything. I was so upset that I said fine and hung up. A day later my dogs got terribly ill with vomiting and diarrhea and this was recently and they have only just recovered. This place is a disappointment. I left my dogs here many times for daycare and boarding and ever since the place has been taken over my new management and owner, it has gone downhill. Do not take your pet here for boarding if you want them safe and fed. Daycare for a few hours is okay, but make sure they are fed and walked and only if you are desperate. Try somewhere else, Unleashed or Kiki's I heard are great.
Maliwan, we're very sorry you had such bad experiences. The store is under new ownership as of July 2011. The experiences you describe would be just as utterly unacceptable to us as they were to you and your husband. There?s more about the new approach on our revamped website. Sadly a change of ownership can't change the past, but we hope you'll consider giving us a second chance in the future.
must luv and hate must luv dogs – They sometimes keep my dog behind the counter where my dog will chew random office objects and has come home and thrown them up. I don't pay for a small pen behind an office counter - it's ridiculous. They have charged my credit card twice for the same service on more than one occasion. They forgot to show up for at least one dog walk. They are generally inept and disorganized and I don't have a secure, professional feeling about the place. The positives: they're good people, they seem to really love dogs, and they're pretty nice. Just so unfortunately, inappropriately unprofessional and disorganized and not smart.
QueenTBone77, we're under new ownership now and having dogs eat random stuff, getting double charges, not showing up for walks, and being disorganized are all unacceptable! You can see our revamped website for more about our new approach.
Puppy home away from home – I just recently started taking my dog here and everytime I pick him up, he hardly wants to go home! They have a "Puppy Webcam" available for thr customers so that I can see my guy play all day with his friends and the staff. Slightly pricier than the surrounding day-care facilties but you receive more of a family feel in return. The staff greets me and my dog by name and with a smile everytime I come in, it's very comforting. I recommend them very highly. They also have very inexpensive boarding and grooming as well...
Must Loathe Dogs – Pros: Location and size
Cons: Unknowledgeable rude staff, place reeked of urine and other bad odors, staff yelled at dogs, too pricey, no owrner to speak with
I went to this place with my dog last week. I had visited Evas and Dog Addiction and wanted to see what Must Love Dogs had to offer. First of all, when I walked in the door the place reeked of urine and feces....it was overwhelming. Then, I saw a male staff member yelilng at the larger dogs in the front playroom. The girl behind the counter wasn't really able to answer basic questions about the daycare and was very abrupt with me. I had asked her if I could meet the owner and she told me the owner is only there once a week and she wojuldnt tell me when. She kept glancing to the back like there was osmething going on or she was maybe just uninterested in our conversation. Then, another staff member was bringing out a pit for a walk, and the dog snapped at my dog. No one said anything or made any apology. THe dog then dragged the girl out the door- she had no control over it! Evas may not be as big, but her staff is much nicer, more experienced and knowledgeable, the place is clenaer, and the price is right. I wouldn't recommend Must Love Dogs- Evas is the way to go.
smidesd78, we're under new ownership as of July 2011 and it's already much improved. The smell is gone thanks to our new "30 second rule" for cleaning up poop and pee. We don't yell at dogs under our our dog handling system, similar to Cesar Millan's. The new owner is at the store every day -- just ask for Jennifer. Feel free to visit our revamped website to learn more about our new approach.
Editorial Review – Must Luv Dogs day care center offers various services for pup owners to ease their schedule like grooming, obedience training and boarding.
Home away from home... – Must love Dog is a cozy little Store that emits a downtown Manhattan feel. The Store is filled with bright colors and cute little buys. The Play area for the dog is roomy and childproof. It spilt up into 3 different sections, that can easily be closed should there be a need to separate the larger and smaller breeds. The staff has been friendly and helpful. They have shown a high interested in getting to know the dogs instead of just throwing them in the back. My Maltese has become attached and treats must luv dogs as his second home! The Owner herself owns 6 pups, which allows her to be understanding to most of my concerns. If you need a place that grooms, trains and board for a reasonable price, I Highly recommend this place.
