Yup, This is a gem!! – I have been looking to try a Tapas restaurant in the Albany area for several years now and could not think of the name of this one. On our travels today I called information from the car and asked for "Tapas" in Albany. The opperator connected me with the Tapas restaurant off fo Wolf road in Albany, I asked the woman on the other end of the phone for directions and as it was early in the afternoon I asked when did the dinner hour start. Well, She belted out a laugh and said "we close at 6" .As I did not think this question was ment to be funny in any way and thought it to be a reasonable inquiry I was not comfortable to be laughed at again. However I did remember a restaurant in the Latham Farms, I think it was a Tapas bar and we drove there. We were welcomed with a warm smile and a good description of the nightly specials and were offered the wine list. My hubby chose a sensible white and I a glass of Zinfandel. The wine was delightfull and after we sampled each others for a moment we were exited to explore the menu. "look honey they have the calamari you like and Ahi tuna and Lamb chops and Oysters and Beef Carpaccio and wow, a lot of the things we love, at that point the sever came to attend to us and I asked what the soup was. She gleefully described a garbonzo bean with bacon soup and after some talk about my oyster craving she offered that the oysters were Blue point oysters. So then we ordered, Thinking that four of the small plates would satisfy us we ordered just that. We spent a moment with our wine while she busied herself with the computer to get our odrer correct. With out judgement from our server we spent several moments out side for a smoke and returned to the bar, Yes sometimes we enjoy eating at the bar. Our dinner arrived just minutes later. First the 'blue point oysters. My gosh, fresh and cold with all of the acutremonts, cocktail sauce and lemon, and a delightfull sauce I had not had before. They were amazing. Next, the Calamarii, The sauce was perfect! garlic, herbs and... tender, Oh boy it was heaven. The Tuna Sashimi next, It just kept getting better. Like buddah, Fresh, sliced right and ginger and wasabi, Wow! Trailing was the Lamb chops. cooked to perfection! Tasty, juicry and hot. I would say the sauce (paste) lacked flavor defination but easy to overcome. Yum, Yum, Yum...The portions were ample enough to bring to mind the fact that we could bring our close friends (another couple) here to share five "small plates" and all leave satisfied. After another unrushed smoke break (yes we are hooked) it was decided to hear what was for desert. Our canned question- "Are your deserts made in house?" Hubby then says to me "just 'cause the chef makes a good meal doesn;t mean he/she is a good pastery chef". Our server honestly gave us the scoop, Some are made here and some come from a small bakery nearby. We chose the in-house pears foster. Well we tried. The pairs were under cooked and the wholr thing was a sloppy mess. Noticing our dissapointment the server sprung into action and cleared the mostly un-raten plate She served us a delightfull sherry as a consolution prize. Charming! razins and plumbs with a not so overpowering spice it was the desert we were looking for. We finished with an enjoyable chit-chat about our epicurian travels and parted as friends.

Would we be back? Definatly!

Would we recomend?

You cannot live in the Albany are without visiting!

We truly enjoyed ourselves.

In fact we visited the wine store several doors down (owned by the same owners) and purchased a case of the whith, Six bottles pf the Zinfandel,, oh and two bottles of the sherry. At quite reasonable prices too. Hope to see you there!
