great deck out front for sipping gin and tonics and tossing back some oysters. Sit outside and indulge in the raw bar!

My family took my mother out for her birthday yesterday. When I checked Here To Serve's website, I saw that on Sundays they feature half-price seafood boils, and $5 Fresh Catch items between 5:00 and 6:30. My family loves seafood, so we decided to do an early dinner rather than brunch or lunch, and I made a reservation for 5:15. When we arrived and were seated, our server went over the specials and I asked about the $5 Fresh Catch, and he confirmed that the special was in effect until 6:30.

We have dinner and everything's going well until we get the bill - and we're charged full price for all but two of our Fresh Catch dinner selections. I expressed our concerns to Jacobi, but he didn't offer any solutions. All he did was apologize and walk away. He sent Jessica the manager over, and we heard the same rhetoric from her. What she told me is that all of the Fresh Catch selections aren't included in the $5 special, because there are restrictions. These so-called restrictions aren't mentioned ANYWHERE on the website. I told her that I asked the server if the Fresh Catch items were $5, and he said yes. He also never mentioned any restrictions, but Jessica told me that since Jacobi is a "veteran server" she found it hard to believe that he would tell us that all Fresh Catches were $5, even though he pretty much did. Jessica also went so far as to say that the special isn't really offered unless guests ask for it. Huh? What kind of policy is that? When I continued to voice my discontent, she made the token gesture of reducing ONE of the entrees we purchased to $5 (while still charging us for the side that we purchased with it), and taking one of our desserts off the bill.

The issue wasn't the price - we can well afford to pay our bill no matter where we dine. The issue is being blatantly misled by a publicized policy - in effect, a bait and switch. A restaurant should honor the specials it advertises, and not only for those who know the secret password and the special handshake. (The menu that is currently on their website is not the one that was on the website last week, and is not the menu we were given upon our arrival at the restaurant.) I also don't appreciate practically being called a liar when I informed Jessica of what the policy states. Customer service is sorely lacking at Coast. My family won't be returning there, and we'll be sure to inform anyone who asks of the shady practices in effect there.

And by the way -m the food was pretty good, but there are better seafood restaurants in Atlanta. No matter what type of seafood you order and how you want it cooked, it's served with the same red sauce. Original. Seems like they're not quite sure what to do with different types of seafood...

Classy dining experience – Went to Home on New Year's Eve after hearing excellent things about it. I was satisfied but not necessarily blown away. My general thoughts?

----Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They readily answered questions and seemed to know the menu very well. They were a little TOO hands-off for my taste though. They gave us too much time to pick our order and drinks and didn't come around that often. Maybe it was just because we were starving, but we would have liked a little more attention.

----The food was great but not earth-shattering. And for the prices, which weren't exorbitant, but definitely mid-range, I was expecting slightly better. I would describe the food as simple-- and I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. They use very fresh ingredients and expect the flavor of the quality meats and veggies to shine through. I would have hoped for some more seasoning, spices or sauces-- something to bring the dishes to the next level. I had the short rib (which were very well prepared) and others at my table had the sole and the lamb. Everyone was satisfied but not wowed. For dessert I had the bread pudding and others at my table had the almond lace basket. They said the dessert impressed them. My bread pudding was too dense for my taste. All in all, if someone else were paying, I'd be very pleased to go there but I'm not running back myself. It's a very classy dining experience and if you're trying to impress a client or a date it would definitely fit the bill. Solid 4 stars.
