I recently tried out Karma for the first time since moving to the area. I was very nervous about trying out a new salon but I decided to go anyway! I am SO glad I did!!! Everyone there was so nice and make me feel at home and my hair turned out even better then before! I already sent my neighbor and she went and loved it too and I even got a coupon in the mail for sending her there! This salon is super cute and I would reccomend it to anyone!
WOW! I came on here because I wanted to write how amazing my experience was at Karma and I am reading these terrible messages from what sounds like very bitter women who like to complain. I have nothing but the BEST things to say about this salon. From the minute I walked in to the moment I left every single person was so sweet and helpful! Not only is it a beautiful salon, but it has such a good vibe to it! I would recommend this salon to ANYONE who asked me where to go. I hope anyone on this site will seriously take my words to heart and not listen to the comments before mine, which to be quite honest were just discusting. I think the name of the salon is just appropriate...KARMA! Karma is my salon and I am PROUD of it!
Take my advice, don't go there. The owner will make you sit for hours on end and then when you complain about your bad hair color, she will go in the back to eat and talk bad about you.
Best Salon in Atlanta – Wow, what a nut job that last reviewer must be! Probably another Groupon user who expects to get something for nothing. It's unfortunate that the web allows people like that to spew false crap about people just trying to do their jobs. I bet they also go to restaurants and order what the waiter recommends then refuse to pay the check. I don't work at Karma, but have been going to Karma for years and that's just not how they operate. If you want the best for your hair, go to Karma. If you want the cheapest, go somewhere else, cause I certainly don't want to have to sit next to you and listen to you complain!
Horrible! They do NOT know how to color hair and charge extra for everything, if another stylist touches you there is another charge for their services too! They do not stand behind their horrible work and will not fix it and will NOT tell you prices up front! IF you like to spend $350 for a 1/4" trim and hair color that sucks and makes you look like a dog peed on your head then this is the place for you! If you want to look and feel good at a normal price (half of what they charge) then DO NOT GO HERE! Julie the owner will lie to your face and say you can call back if you don't like it and she will make it right...well she won't...she will tell you she is not the stylist for you!
Terrible experience. – This salon recently put out a Groupon, so I imagine a lot of people will be interested in the experience you may encounter.
I have had the worst experience at this salon - which started before I even got there. My appointment was double booked and I had to be rescheduled. This in itself was not a big deal, but when I rescheduled, they fit me in a time slot where there was not enough time for me to get to my next appointment. I had expressed concern, and they assured me I would be done well before I needed to leave. When I got to the salon, I was called by the wrong name by the stylist (not a big deal, but it's all about the details when you're talking about good customer experience, isn't it?). Of course with my Groupon, they had to upsell me - which was fine. But because of the upsell, there was no way I was getting out of the salon on time. I then decided to forego the ever-so-critical gloss because it became clear after just getting my foils put in that there would not be enough time - despite what the stylist had said before we started the process. My appointment ended 15 minutes past the time that I needed to be out of there, and then I had to wait another 5 minutes to be checked out.
My hair looked horrid, and I had to come back to get it darkened (why she didn't just use the darker color in the first place and save us all the headache, I don't know - oh wait, I do - to charge me an additional $45). I expressed my disappointment to the owner before going back to fix my color, and she left me a message somewhat accusing me of not understanding that the stylist said a gloss would be needed to even my hair out and that her people would never tell a client how long an appointment would take because it's not a science, and to top it off she made a snide remark about how my hair had box color on it before which may have led to the horrible coloring. I did not have box color on it, two of her people told me we would have enough time to finish my cut/color, and clearly she does not care about making a situation right. In addition to the $45 to fix my hair, my first visit also included a $10 surcharge for extra coloring because my hair was too long - also not mentioned on the Groupon. I definitely can understand the charge, but not if it's not mentioned in the fine print. The owner was quick to point out that this was a Groupon error. Then it should be between her and Groupon.
So how does my hair look after the oh-so-important gloss? Still crappy, but less orange. The color I was going for was a caramel. Not to mention that she cut it much shorter than we had agreed on, but I can deal with that as my hair grows fairly quickly. I really wanted to like this salon, and even after the first bad visit, had hopes that it could be salvaged by some good customer service the second time around. It was not.
Do not go to Karma!! – OMG...I spent 5 hours in a salon chair on Friday and my hair is 3 different colors. I am so upset. They not only totally screwed my the color up, they burned my scalp. It's still burning from all the chemicals. The only thing I can do at this point is to color my hair a darker color. I didn't pay to be darker. I was that before I went in there.. What's worse is I told them what my hair would do. And after she rinsed my hair, even the owner commented how yellow my hair turned. I TOLD THEM IT WOULD DO THAT!!! My sister was a hairdresser for 30 yrs in TN. I know what my hair does. I know what you can and cannot do to my hair. .I told them how fragile my hair is...now I am not sure my hair will stay on my head...it feels like a horse tail and my scalp is still burning. I have 9 burn stops. My husband took pictures...I think maybe an attorney might be in order. I have filed a BBB report complaint and will be sending the Georgia Board of Cosmetology a long letter of complaint. Hopefully this salon will be investigated before anyone gets another license.
Karma is Awesome! – I had my hair done at Karma yesterday and it looks great! I've been there several times and have always been treated with the utmost respect and care. When I want to feel good and look pretty, I go to Karma!
Do not go to Karma – Save your time, Save your money, And most of all Save your hair! There is only one word to describe my hair and that word is HORRIBLE! Everyone was very nice in the salon but they either do not know how to do hair or they did it on purpose to get more money out of me. I went in for blonde hair and came out with orange hair. When I arrived the wait time was short and everyone was very nice. I discussed with the stylist what I wanted done with my hair and she immediately started to try to get me to buy more services. I told her with The color I was going for she should have been able to achieve with color alone and no toner. I have had my hair done enough times to know how it responds to color. I told her I did not want any brassiness or orange in my hair and even told her she might want to mix some blue or ash to keep the brassy color out. Well she did not listen and told me in the beginning that I may need a toner and it would be 55.00. I told her we should be ale to get what I want with out a toner so I feel like it was done on purpose just so I would have to purchase the toner also. Anyway I sat there looking at my hair saying to myself Never Again!! I was not ugly and I did not say a word about how horrible my hair looked. Even the owner had the nerve to say your hair looks great which made me wonder is she blind??? I have been to a salon before where the owner would not have let you walk out with hideous looking hair because that is a reflection on her. I went to Sally's beauty supply and the lady working laughed at my hair. I laughed with her as I told her to hurry and give me something to fix it before anyone else saw it and started laughing. To the owner: either one, get better stylists, two, stop being greedy remember "karma" or three, do not let people walk out of your salon with hideous hair. It will only come back to hurt you and you business. Thankfully I was able to fix the orange hair with what the lady sold me at Sally's. It cost me 8.14. It cost Karma a customer and I will always let everyone know where NOT to go.
From the Owner – This is In response to "MaddiesMom" This is not exactly how the whole situation happened. As the owner I would like to make this statement in defense of my stylists and my salon's reputation.
As far as this situation goes, this client came in to my salon for her wedding trial up do and trial make-up for her wedding day. She came in with a plan for her hair and one of my stylist did exactly what she wanted and it looked great. The client stated to us that she was happy about everything! So the trial for her up do ended and she moved to make-up.
My stylist went and did her make up very natural and bridal. The client didn't like our line of foundation and wanted to use her own. So I went over as the owner and told her that was perfectly fine and she could come in for another trial at no charge with her own personal foundation.
The client said she couldn't come back that day because she was going to the court house to get her marriage certificate. That was fine with us and as she left she was happy with everything except the foundation which we had already had a solution for that.
She then called the salon demanding a refund and to cancel all her appointments for the day of her wedding. We informed her of our no refund policy because my entire staff works on commission and she had already received the services and left with the product on her head and her face.
As far as the no refund policy, there are several salons that honor this policy because of the industry. The service is the product, therefore nothing can be returned for a refund. We offered this client a re do to make her happy as we do with all clients so that everyone can leave happy!!! Not because we have no money....As far as the not having pride in our work? Of course we do...that is why we try to satisfy every client that we have here in the salon. This was over less then $200...not quite as extreme as this client is making it out to be as far as the "worst salon in the USA"???
