Join with Caution- A year can be eternity! – This is the first negative review I've written about any business ever. I'm doing it simply because I don't want others to have my bad experience.
I entered a year membership at Face Logic Arboretum and usually the facials were ok. I bought gift certificates for friends and referred neighbors to try this "bargain" facial program. However, there became an obvious problem with high turn-over and inexperienced staff. I rarely saw the same aesthetician. One time a new girl put so much slimy gel on my face that it coated all of my hair. I looked like I was ready to work at a haunted house. The slimy product was running down my chest and into my jeans. Needless to say it was a very uncomfortable experience! I thought I was on "Candid Camera" or something, but no... I had to pay for that service.
They tell you it is only a certain charge per month, but the trick is that they give you a hard pitch with each facial, trying to get you to purchase more...Not my idea of relaxation.
I could let go of all of the above, but now I'm mad! Nine months into the deal, I asked to terminate the membership due to extreme financial changes. The girl at the desk said I was required contactually to keep paying until the end of my year. I was discouraged, but respectfully paid the last 3 months understanding that I was in a contract. I called and again explained to another staff member that I needed to be sure to end the program ASAP. Then I noticed they kept charging my credit card for the 2 months after my agreement. That is 5 facials they charged me for that I did not receive! What a racket! I left messages kindly asking to be reimbursed for the 2 months of charges after my annual agreement. The owner finally returned my call and said the contract renews itself year after year, unless I provided a written letter of termination. Why wasn't that told to me before?! I would have handled it immediately! Perhaps it is because the staff is usually new and inexperienced. Or, perhaps the owners are greedy.
Regardless, I didn't pay less than the average spa facial; I paid way more! If you join, read the itty- bitty fine print and memorize if for a year or Face Logic will come back and bite you.
It worked for me – I came here not to long ago and even though I don't live in austin it is a great place to come to when I am in town. I have been to the northern location and the arboretum location and some in dallas and I just wanted to say that every facelogic I have been to has been differnt but a great experience and I have never had a "rude" person when I went to the arboretum location the receptionist there actually found a location for me to my dallas trip as well which was nice. I do wonder why some locations do have the curtians and other do not though?
My 2 cents worth... – I have been a member since December 2007. Although there has been alot of staff turnaround, everyone I have encountered is friendly & takes care of my needs. You are divided into the same large room with up to 8 others. I have never been in there with more than 3 - I guess this depends on what day/time you set your appt. You get what you pay for. If you want privacy, pay more somewhere else. I always enjoy my experience, great price for the service & come out feeling relaxed. The products they offer in their facials & for sale are top quality. You also over time earn credits for discounts on spa products & add on services which is a nice bonus. Overall I would recommend going if you are looking for a mini spa experience on a monthly basis without breaking the piggy bank.
facials?! – I recentely went this spa, brought in by my girlfriend, I honestly really didn't want to go but ended up having a great experience and have actually already returned without her even being there. Although I didn't get a room to myself, which was a concern of the last posting I still very much enjoyed my time there because I was so relaxed back in the zero gravity chairs I forgot about the other people in the cubical next me. As far as the staff goes they seem to help me in whatever I needed, I will be returning soon!
Not that great : P – The facial was okay but I was in a room with at least 5 or 6 other people so it wasn't quiet or relaxing; I could feel the people across from me staring. I assumed I would get my own room and have some privacy but was wrong. Also, I arrived early but had to wait 20 min after my appointment was supposed to start! The staff was really fake and kept trying to push me to buy their products and sign up for a monthly membership, which I did not want. More of a business than a spa.
Growing Pains?? – I've been a member for some time now, and yes there has been changes and not all so good. I've not had my face done by the same person twice either because they keep leaving! However it did get me someone I like even more than the first girl who I liked alot! The front desk girl, who has been there a while is the most helpful and sweetest person you could meet. When I went in the other week she wsn't there and I thought "another change"...but they girls in the back told me that it was her day off! Sometimes you have to go through growing pains -- lets hope this is all it is!
good things are here...but better are to come?? – I have been a member of this spa since november and after reading the last post I thought I'd share my thoughts as well. Although the girls I first saw in the begining are no longer there I feel like most of the girls currently are more than capable to help me with my concerns. I do agree that there have been too many changes and I feel like I haven't been able to choose which ones I want to try it's overwhelming almost, but personally I would rather have to many to choose from than not enough. As far as management goes for the most part I have been taken care of by the same girl since november and I feel like if I need anything she can help me in anyway, they are very welcoming and I LOVE the new Organic Facials they are now doing..If you are looking to relax and not pay ridiculous prices this is the place for you..
Not the same...changes are frustrating. – This is a okay spa with products that I could find elsewhere, and services I can pay a lil bit more for down the street so the savings are nice. I am unhappy that there have been so many changes...the staff just doesn't seem to stay. I am a member, and while I like the facial, I have never had the same person more then twice. I would prefer consistancy and feel like I am not seeing good results because there are different services and products recommended by different people everytime...it is confusing but I trust the girls so I agree hoping it will work for me. I was really dissapointed when I called there recently and found that the front desk girl there who signed me up was gone, she seemed to be the one who knew what was going on. The last visit I had was not only not the best facial but the person who checked me out was not very organized or helpful. It seems like things are in chaos there right now and it doesn't feel very welcoming. I have about 7 months left on my membership and I think I will probably cancel my dues then. I guess if I saw more results or they had their stuff together by that time I would maybe consider continuing...we'll see.
Facials are fantastic! – Went for Valentines with my sweetie...amazing!
Even HE loved the relaxation and information.
Their chocolate mask was divine and I love the massage.
Not sure I will be come a member, but I am sure I will return...I am more about relaxation then skincare. This would be a great opportunity though...I am a Nurse and know that the skin is the first place to show wear and tear as well as age, so treating it well benefits everyone.
They even had healthy snacks and lemon water and green tea to add to my contentment.
I would definitely suggest you try some of their body products...I got a new body and hand lotion and can't get enough of the delicious scent...it is all essential oils so it is good for me too!
Go and treat yourself...and the one you love...it is SOO worth it!
