Fresh Sushi at Great Prices!!!! Esp Happy Hour – I too moved from NYC Nicholas! I went to all (or nearly all) the awesome Japanese restaurants in NYC and Hayashi is right up there with them! Feel quite lucky to find this gem!
Hayashi always has excellent food, clean facilities, friendly staff....did I mention the fresh fish?!
Definitely worth a trip to see for yourself! If you're not a sushi fan, they have plenty of non-sushi dishes too. Enjoy!!
Great food, Nice people – I moved from New York, very surprise that is great japanese restaurant in the G'town TX. Great sushi, very fresh, and my friend had teriyaki, she told me sauce is very delicious . The chef told us they made all sauce themself. i will come back.
Good food, excellant waiter, manager/chef? awful – The food was good. Kenny, our waiter, was attentive and helpful. The manager/chef, Yao, was unbelievably rude. We would never eat at this restaurant again. He came to our table and made an embarrassing scene with the waiter. He was obviously upset with the waiter but he should have handled it privately. Kenny, the waiter, was very gracious and apologized. We tipped Kenny well. I hope he did not have to share his tip with Yao.
Small portions – This place charged too much for such a small portion. My 9 year old was still hungry and so was I. They need to add more for the price they charged. Don't recommened this place to anyone. Go some where else for better asian food.
Kobi Burgers - who knew they could be so good – what a great appetizer or even a full meal if you want to keep it light. A perfect version of Japanese sliders.
Ill come back for more.
Yummy sushi – Seeing that we live in the suburbs, I am so glad there is a sushi joint by the house. Going to Austin can be exhausting. This place is really nice and doesn't have the typical sushi smell. We were warmly greeted in Japanese. We had great service so I'm not sure what the other reviews are talking about. I ordered the Cherry Blossom Drink, it was so tasty and my husband had a Sapporo Draft. I almost ordered a second one but I had to save room for sushi. My husband and I ordered the stuff tuna for an appetizer which came with 3 pieces. This stuff was to die for. It just melted in my mouth. Then we ordered the Foxy Lady and the Hayashi roll. The Foxy Lady was my favorite. I love how it comes wrapped with pink soy paper. The Hayashi was a bit too spicy for me but my hubby sure loved it. I have never seen that before. Overall my favorite sushi restaurant in the area. I'm definitely going there on my birthday and I'm going to try the 5 course meal they offer. I think its called the Omokase.
WORST RESTAURANT!! – no host/hostess,one server, so service are slow.fish are not fresh.dirty tables.waste of money!!!dont ever go there....
I found great sushi in Cedar Park – Oh my gosh, I found a new great sushi place in Cedar Park. You wouldn't think, because of the location, that it would have such a good modern atmosphere. It is much different and much more high end than the other restaurants in the area. We used to have sushi downtown but now we found a great place that is much closer to where we live. We now found the downtown atmosphere closer to home. This was a great place to impress my cousin from out of town. The fish was very fresh, the server was welcoming, and the atmosphere gave a downtown feel which we were looking for instead of driving downtown. I would recommend this place for a date or just to hang out with friends!
Best Sushi in Georgetown – A few years ago you couldn't find much sushi in Austin, let alone all the way up in Round Rock and Georgetown. Didn't find this hidden gem until I found out the sushi chef lived down the street from me. Now go regularly. They take great care of us and it's kid friendly too.
Disappointed in service... – My place of residence is in San Diego, but have a 2nd house in Cedar Park & was there over the holidays. We had heard of Hayashi Sushi at the Cedar Park location. It had just opened approximately 6mos ago and was near the movie theaters, which was perfect, because we were wanting to go see a movie too.
We arrived there, just after 1:00p on New Year's Eve, was greeted by the hostess and was seated right away. Unfortunately, we weren't approached by our waiter for atleast 10 minutes. No big deal...so I thought, but I did tell my husband maybe we should order our food as soon as our waiter comes to our table and greets us.
We ordered Katsu Pork and a Two Roll Combo. My husband and I, was served our Miso Soup, with our waiter not using a tray, but by holding the bowl with his thumb on the rim and the reason why I noticed it, is because he was burning his fingers. Then, we didn't get our salad until 25 minutes later & at that time we were told by our waiter "We got busy, plus we are under staffed...so I forgot to put your order in." I told him not to worry. What could I say? I can tell you...now you really start to watch the time, your waiter & everyone in the restaurant.
Our waiter brought us some Edamame to get us through until our food came...which wasn't until after 2p. You would've thought after the mess-up, our waiter would've been more attentive. He never once came back to us asking if we wanted more water, was everything okay, etc. We even had to wave him down, to ask for our check.
Here's the clincher: When he finally brought us our check, he said, "The least I could do is comp the Edamame for the additional 5 minutes you had to wait." How in the heck can he comp something, when we didn't even order it?
During our time in the restaurant, there were two Sushi Chefs, two Waiters and never was there more than 6 tables with 2 customers at each table. That's 3 tables for each Waiter.
The time stamp on our check: 2:26:33p
