dont let the beautiful dining room fool you – Ok... Where do I start. We were prompt seated but poorly served. The waitress was nothing short of an idiot. She walked around with a pitcher of water for the better half of the time. We had to prompt our order and when we asked what was on the chef's menu, she illustrated she didn't did know what the chefs menu was and also was surprised to see it on the menu. When we pointed it out, she described the menu as an appetizer and entree chosen by us... Not the chef... ??? We had such little confidence that we asked another waiter for further clarification. After taking our drink orders (which were ice water and a diet coke), she brought us a coke

Try the Angus Burger- it's the best – I've gone here for lunch and after a couple hours shopping in the Natick mall you must go here and try the angus burger with caramelized onions. It is truly something not to be missed. I'm not sure if the other Sel de la Terre locations also serve up this wonderful burger for lunch, but if they do... please do yourself a favor and try it. It's my favorite burger in Boston an I've been to all the other burger joints from Bartley's to Eagle's Deli. This is the best.

Suburban offshoot of popular Downtown restaurant serves welcoming, Provencal-style classics, from breakfast to dinner. – The Scene
Situated between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom in the swank Natick Collection shopping plaza, Sel de la Terre's relaxed, warm-hued dining room allows weary shoppers to feast on award-winning, country French cuisine. The handsome bar area is ideal for those looking to sample from an impressive, all-French wine list while nibbling on flatbread pizza. Efficient, black-clad servers are intimately familiar with the menu's many nuances.

The Food
Talk about a pedigree: Sel de la Terre is co-owned by L'Espalier's Frank McClelland. Accordingly, diners enjoy inventive, affordable interpretations of French faves like roast chicken--served with zesty lemon-herb gnocchi and a tasty melange of plum tomatoes, green olives, and arugula. Flavorful fillet of sole arrives sauteed with lemon atop jasmine rice, pine nuts and poached figs. Patrons try their best to leave room for light, refreshing desserts, including homemade strawberry-lemon sorbet and bruleed peach melba.

Hits
In an area desperately in need of quality breakfast and lunch options, it's nice to know that Sel de la Terre pays just as much attention to the quality of its non-dinner menus.

Misses
Due to its location, the restaurant often hosts dressed-down shoppers and families with kids in tow--not exactly the kind of atmosphere suited for $25 dinner entrees.
