This is a review only of their retail operation. Their service has generally been very good (though don't ask how long it will take - the answer will have no bearing on reality).
On the retail end - note that even though their website will tell you that pretty much every machine is "in stock," they don't actually have them in stock but simply arrange drop shipping through the manufacturer. Therefore, while they may promise certain delivery times, this is quite dishonest as the manufacturer can neither confirm nor promise such delivery times.
We ordered a $1000 machine and were told that it was in stock, would ship that day or the next, and would likely arrive by the end of the week. On Friday, I asked for a status update and was told (without apology) to expect it instead next Tuesday. On Tuesday, without any communication on their part, I again ask for status, and was told that it is on back order. Meanwhile, the web site continues to read "In stock" for other unsuspecting customers. And, of course, they charge your credit card even before confirming that the item is in stock and can actually ship.
I used to very much enjoy doing business with this company. However, their misrepresentation of "in stock" or shipping times, with no apology or recourse short of canceling the order, seems very dishonest.
UPDATE: The owner informed me that they "discovered" an open box in "perfect," new condition that they could ship to me "right away," for delivery in a week. A subtle request for expedited shipping (since we are now over a week behind the original promised date) was ignored--in fact, he told me that expedited shipping would take "even longer" (huh?).
In the end, I just felt that I could not trust anything I was being told, with a constantly-chainging and evasive story. Life is too short to wonder if a company is lying to me, especially when I'm about to spend $1000.
We recently purchased a new Jura Giga 5 from this company. My wife and I were very skeptical and a bit concerened to spend so much money on a coffee machine, but since we are "aficianados" we figuered we would give it a go. We purchased the unit on the alattehotte site through paypal which gave us the peace of mind in haivng security from a company we never purchased through before. I have to say, I am so pleased by the customer service, instantaneous support prompt reponses by alattehotte. They always responded to my questions quickly and this really solidified the buying experience in my mind. We would certainly purchase from alattehotte again --- they are very engaging and easy to talk to.
Rob sent us some of his mustache express coffee, it's pretty extreme stuff, definetly fit for espresso but not sure about cappuccinos. I wouldn't have his coffee in multiples, it made me feel very very productive.
The Jura Giga machine is pretty wild, I love having the ability to make two kinds of coffees or blend the bean hoppers. My wife has her decaf in one bean hopper and I have my intelligentsia in the other. We both get what we want.
With many, many years of great service, my Saeco Magic Comfort + machine finally gave out. I was a little sad to part with my wonderful, reliable machine. On a regular basis, I would send in the machine for service and the very helpful people at aLatteHotte would quickly work on it and ship the machine back to me out in Ohio.
I certainly was in a pinch about how to replace my machine. After I spoke with Rob about purchasing a new machine, I learned of the generous trade-in program they offer towards the purchase of a new machine. A trade-in credit was an added bonus to all the freebies included with my new machine purchase.
I had set out wanting a replacement model to my trustworthy Magic Comfort +. It turns out the machine was phased out of production several years back. Saeco manufactures a whole array of machines. The next best thing to my previous machine is a Royal One Touch by Saeco. It looks really sharp. It is a significantly smaller machine in terms of size than the Magic Comfort +. Now here is where I made the leap of faith.
For the same price as a new Saeco Royal One Touch, Jura makes the ENA 9 Cappuccino, an even smaller machine. What a wonderful little machine. It does everything with one button touch controls. Clean up is a snap since milk never goes inside the machine. There is minimal maintenance, a cleaning cycle with a tablet once a month. What a breeze.
Now, I have a great new machine with the solid reputation of Swiss precision manufacturing. I've had my machine for a few months now; I look forward to many years of great espresso! And thanks aLatteHotte for the great recommendation.
Speedy turn-around time on Royal CoffeeBar !
Our Manhattan Beach Corporate office has a few espresso aficionados. We were so thankful that alattehatte was able to repair and return our Saeco Royal CoffeeBar on the following business day after a newbie poured water into the grinder (a big no -no!) The team over at alattehatte saved the day. It's a great service to have a local repair facility.
Our company has a few machines that we periodically take in for sevice. While I'm there, I usually pick up a few bags of the Lavazza coffee they recommend. It seems to keep the machine going steady and the office crew happy as well!
Well I had a fantastic experience with aLatteHotte. Previously I have called them a few times for advice using a saeco coffee maker that I own and they have always been very helpful over the phone, even though I never bought the machine from them. What I like most is that they answer the phone late into the evening when nobody else seems to be around, especially saeco. Well my Saeco bit the dust when we had a power surge (due to a problem with Edison in our neighborhood) and I decided not to fix the product but to buy another one. So who did I call? Of course these guys because they have helped me in the past and I know that they will be there in the future to help me with me new maker. This time I went with a Jura and I must say, itâ??s very different. The coffee tastes stronger but I think thatâ??s because it makes a 16 gram shot and I love the taste of the espresso, it is just magnificent. I was all set to go with another Saeco unit because overall it has been a pretty decent coffee maker for an inexpensive product (if you think $500 is inexpensive). The model of the Jura I went with is the C9 and I must say, the Automatic Cappuccino features is priceless! My mornings are simple and my evenings are just bliss. aLatteHotte was also a gem when it came to selecting the machine and setting it up over the phone. I couldnâ??t have had a better experience with this company and I will continue to send my friends their way!
Best place for service and support! – aLatteHotte is one of the most helpful coffee companies I have ever found on the web. I am the owner of three Saeco espresso makers, all the same model, Vienna. I have had very good luck with my coffee machines but in the event that trouble arises, we know who to call because they are always there for us. aLatteHotte services my Vienna makers and they sold me my last saeco which has been totally trouble free. I was just in to pick up some coffee and have the maintenance done on my home Vienna and I was introduced to the new saeco xelsis which of course I fell in love with. I have never seen a company that would personally spend so much time with a customer whether or not they were going to sell me something. They really are a full service company and they seem to stand by their lifetime maintenance program. We have already used it several times for grinder related issues, but now that we are using higher quality espresso roast beans, we are not having the issues. This company has saved me time and money and they have always been super pleasant to do business with, only the best recommendation from my family!
VERY HAPPY with Experience and Servivce! – Extremely helpful customer service, received a brand new Jura coffee machine and I just love it! I would recommend aLattreHotte to anyone, in fact I already suggested them to my brother and he is equally as happy with the service. They are very helpful and pleasant and rather than telling me to buy a more expensive machine that I was prepared to buy they pointed me towards a much less expensive machine that I have fallen in love with. There are so many options on the market for espresso coffee makers, and many stores to buy them from. I chose this company, aLatteHotte for a few reasons, mainly that they answer the phone on a Sunday and get back to me right away by email. Since I am new to this fancy kind of coffee product (Im a convert from a Krups coffee pot), it was important to have the service that I require. aLatteHotte made my purchase very simple and I saved about six hundred dollars by not purchasing a more expensive unit. I was steered towards the Jura ENA 9 which has really met all of my expecations. I only wish the unit did hot milk just for hot chocolate but that is something that Jura could iron out. aLatteHotte was just awesome. The most personal coffee service around! – Me and my wife and a couple of co-workers have been coming to aLatteHotte for a long time now. I can’t explain how important it is to have a great coffee service at your side! We bring our Saeco coffee espresso machines here for service every year and whenever we get it back, the maker is the way it is when we bought it. Their service is definitely top notch. The employees are fun to talk to and always have delicious coffee on top, so it’s like going to the café and getting your buzz on while they work on your machine. It’s almost fun when our machine breaks down (kidding). They have always treated me very kindly and now that we are going on to our second coffee maker, I can honestly say that I am very satisfied with the sales experience and with the service experience. We have one machine that we take on the plane with us out to California every time we make the LA journey and we always spend half an hour or so with Rob for the tune-up. LatteHotte is a fun experience all around. My favorite coffee that they have me absolutely hooked on is the Intelligentsia black cat, while my neighbor and coworker both stick with the Lavazza coffee, I think the black cat is one of the most supreme blends out there! Great Experience - Great Service – These guys were instrumental in making sure we had eveything we needed for our office. We previously had a saeco machine in for service and it continues to serves us well, very glad we purchased another machine from them, got the best deal and always great service!
Excellent Trade-in program, always very helpful – Excellent phone support, we have bought a few machines from alattehotte over the years. They always help when we need it and go above and beyond the call of duty when we bring our viennas in for service. We have used their trade-in program a couple times and find that it is the way to go when something new and exciting is available to upgrade to. I love their Intelligentsia coffee selections also. I can't say anything but good about this company...
