It's been through more chefs than Paris Hilton has boyfriends, but this swanky, sexy West Village restaurant has more than enough style to make anyone forget that. The upstairs is gorgeous and the back garden even more so; but even at the bar the "talent" is of stratospheric quality, and both the drinks and the dishes more than worthy.

One of the nicest dining experiences I've had in some time. The food was wonderful; the service was superb; and the kindness of the staff was amazing. I went there three times in one week. Loved the place and would recommend highly to others.

Don't waste your time / money – I'm very surprised at some of the reviews because our experience was not good. The place does have a trendy feel though a bit loud. 3 of the 6 meals were sent back because they were cold. Service was almost non-existent but they were more than happy to add 20% gratuity to the bill. After a 5 minute discussion with the manager he finally relented and took the $6 fee off the check for tap water. I would've thought they'd throw in the water after we just spent $464 on bad food and service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Great Birthday Dinner Spot – Went to Bobo for the first time with a large group of friends for a few birthdays and the upstairs was really cool. The chandeliers, books and pictures on the walls really made it feel like I was in someones dining room. Of all the appetizers, entress, and desserts that were all shared, teh tuna appetizer was hands down one of the best Ive ever had. The service was great too, can't remember the waiters name but he looked a bit like Seth Rogen but was very attentive and really knew his wines.

wow... – ive gone to bobo afew times now & each time has been wonderful. the service has been great and so was the food. yeah the prices are abit high but this is NY people..

the burger was outstanding .. the different flavors and textures of fried and pickled leeks and the juicy burger.. toasted bun. it was fabulous. and the fries! wow.. honestly the best ive ever had.

i got acouple appetizers too.. there was a great tuna dish and fried pickles were delicious.

the drinks were good too and the overall feel of the resturant was great.. i loved the decor.

the only problem i had was that it was abit small inside.. but it gave it a cozy home like feel.

i know i will be going back again...

Most Unique Atmosphere – I've been coming here for a few years nows. Virtually everything on the menu is good and each individual dining area has its own personal theme. You definitely know you're in the W. Village when you walk into Bobo's, which was once an brownstone, but the food and ambiance make up for the slightly cramped upstairs seating.

Wonderful night out – We had a great night out here the other night. We had to wait a few minutes for out reservation so we were shown to the bar by the lovely host. The drinks were fantastic - get the Stealth margarita - it was really good! Then we were shown upstairs to our table and feasted on their canape section, followed by salads and finishing with the "signature duck dish" that the waitress recommended. Apparently the chef was just nominated for a Rising Star Award (the waitress proudly informed us) and you could definitely see why. the menu was balanced throughout and includes a number of dishes with local organic produce. We had a super time and cannot wait to go back.

Who are they trying to kid? – This restaurant would be maybe worth 3 stars (out of 5) if every item on the menu was $5 cheaper. The salads were priced at $12 and $13 and were nothing special. The tomato salad consisted of one SMALL beefsteak (not even heirloom) tomato and was covered with rather woody stems of an unidentifiable herb. The soup was a tastless matzo ball soup and likewise was way too expensive. The entrees were barely adequate--the scallops were overcooked, the pork chop was cooked to medium but still had the consistency of shoe leather, the pork schnitzel was melt in your mouth tender, but the only flavor coming across was that of the grease it had been fried in. The $8 "market sides" of seasonal vegetables were delicious, but one needed a microscope to see them--barely 4 bites each. Likewise the desserts, priced at $12 each were an insult. They were better than average, but again, barely 4 bites, and at $3 a bite, they needed to be extraordinary--and they weren't. Service was good--they kept filling our water glasses every five seconds--which considering they charge $1 per person for TAP water (ok so it was "purified" big deal) they had better. Our waiter, however, knew details about the food, but kept having to ask everyone to repeat what they were ordering. Yes, the ambience is nice, but none of it was even remotely worth the outrageous prices. Save your money and go to any of the hundreds of other restaurants in the city that are just as good if not much better for less than half the cost.

Chicken and Artichokes with Chef Patrick Connolly – I've just finished reading reviews for Bobo and plan on making reservations soon!

Watching Chef Patrick Connolly make chicken and artichokes with herbs solidified my choice, so if you'd like an inside as to how things are made, check out Behind the Burner's video page.

Enjoy and happy eating!

Can't Wait to Go Back – My wife and I have been eager to try this place ever since the new chef started. It exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back again soon. In addition to a great wine list that my wife enjoyed - the appetizers were so enticing that we barely had room left for our entrees. We had the potato-and-bone-marrow dauphines, the tempura-fried cornichons, along with the spare ribs. All of them were excellent and my wife had to talk me out of ordering another fried cornichons (fried small pickles) to save room for my burger, which I had heard was one of the best burger's in the city. In my opinion, it is the best burger - and I found it to be a fantastic symphony of flavors - that after one bite you will say, "wow - that is a great burger". The mix of the gruyere cheese, fried leeks are piled on top, along with the great seasoning made this meal one to remember - surpassing expectations. My wife's striped bass was flavorful and just as memorable and when combined atmosphere, provide a romantic yet chic vibe. We can't wait to go back!
