No complaints! – This isn't the typical kind of place that I go to. But, I still managed to have a good time. I went to Club Curve on a Thursday night. Got in with no line around 11pm. Music was good. It was actually pretty easy getting drinks. And of course the dancing was great! A good time was had. And I had no complaints.

Club Curve – It warrants mentioning that this review is for the happy hour and downstairs lounge ONLY. Given my (hopefully understandable) aversion to 99% of dance clubs in this city, I can't honestly say if I'll ever be able to speak about Curve in that capacity. Even my love of many things campy and retro doesn't entirely compel me to experience the (clothed) go-go dancers that are scheduled to pop in some nights. That's not this business' fault, though, and I'm certainly not deducting any stars for it. I just needed to add this disclaimer in the beginning so anyone curious about hitting this place once it starts wearing its clubbing hat knows to just skip over this review.

My coworkers and I decided to drop in for an impromptu happy hour since this is the closest place to snag a drink in proximity to our office. Their specials run from 3 PM to 7 PM, and one can pick up a Shiner for around $2.50. Not the most competitive prices in Downtown, but I don't mind paying a tiny bit extra for convenience and atmosphere. And it IS a nice atmosphere, especially since we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Everything is very geometric and contemporary, with mirrors and the bar itself drawing inspiration from the business' name. There's also a few comfortable chairs and couches (as well as some stylish end tables so you can set your drink down) towards the entrance, and tables and stools in the back. Since the upstairs was roped off that evening, we didn't get a chance to see it. But I hear tell there's a stage up there.

Since I just opted for a beer (Don't wince, dear friends of mine! The doctor said one every month or so won't send me spiraling into liver failure!), I can't speak for the quality or price of the mixed drinks. But it was nice chatting with the thankfully accommodating manager, who was filling in for the missing bartender that evening. The best part about happy hour, though, is that the "dress to impress"* code doesn't seem to apply at that time. We waltzed in with our usual jeans and t-shirts to nary a complaint. Granted, we were also the only ones there. Whether or not they change their policy around once things pick up remains to be seen, but I'm hoping it doesn't.

So Curve will stay on our radar for after-work happy hour fun-fun times. The beer's reasonable enough. It's quiet (for now). It's right there by my office. And there's couches, which is always a plus. I know notsuoH has them as well, but a goodly portion of my coworkers are grievously terrified of clowns and tragically won't set foot in there. Pansies! (Says the woman afraid of snowmen.)

I wish this place the best of luck after their official opening on Saturday!

*I never did understand the use of this phrase outside a professional context. Who exactly am I supposed to impress at a club, anyways? Might I run into a literary agent? Or perhaps someone willing to edit or purchase some of my writings? I mean, the chances of that happening seem just about as likely as meeting one anywhere else in public. Should I "dress to impress" all the time just in case? And "impress" is such a subjective term, so who's definition am I expected to use here? Mine? The bouncer's? The owner's? If I don't know them, how am I to know what they consider "impressive?" It seems I read that phrase in the copy for a lot of not-work-related places, and the semantics of it all baffle my brain bone. This, people, is why I spend most of my social life in coffee and tea shops.

Cool Place! – The music was great. The people were SUPER nice. Parking was easy to find. The whole experience was awesome. If I could, I'd be there every week.

Ibiza comes to Houston! – What a great nightclub it has everything. Great lighting, Bartenders, prices, sound and music, jet cooled dance floor, sexy male dancers, and After-hours. Definitely five stars in my book.

I felt obligated to write this – I almost did not go to see ATB at this club because of all of the horrible reviews I read about it on here. I'll try to address most of the complaints I read starting with parking. I got there at 9:45 on a Friday and parked 1/2 block away. Yes, there were homeless people around. No, they didn't hassle or even speak to me and no, my car wasn't broken into. I got to the club and there was a very short line. The bouncers did not try to extort $20 from me and as opposed to being rude, they were actually quite courteous. There are 4 bars in the club and I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a drink. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was exceedingly clean and nobody was having sex or anything close to it in there. Also, I never saw not even one person smoking while I was there. The crowd was evenly mixed regarding age but I didn't meet anyone that was anything less than friendly and polite. On whole, I enjoyed myself and look forward to going back.

This is the best night club in downtown Houston. Last week I was there with a group of friends and everything was amazing. The drinks were good, the food was good, we danced, they even have a happy hour, I just have no words. Perfect place. I like it.

YES THESE REVIEWS ARE TRUE!!! – I'm literally sitting here in shock at reading these reviews because these people are NOT lying!!! My friend and I are just getting back home. We are still shaking our heads at the way this club is ran on the outside.

There were maybe 10 or less people in front of us when we arrived. We waited an hour and a half to get in and just decided to leave. The things we saw were insane. One of the doormen went up to the mexican guy behind us and told him he won't be getting in because his pants were too baggy. The guy was like whaaaaaaaaaat, these are guess jeans, they don't come baggy. The guy said well I'm just letting you know that you're standing in line for nothing. Then, this group of black people came and paid the bouncers to let them in the club. They took their money and they continued to wait, while all these white and asian people were paying and walking right in. They had to have waited about 30 minutes. When they asked the bouncer what was going on, the bouncer told them that they didn't meet the dress code and had to leave. Needless to say the people were pissed. One of the bouncers in turn started arguing with them and the people left. Even after they had left, the bouncer was literally making a scene screaming and cursing and calling them n*ggers. At this point my friend and I said this club isn't worth all of this so we left.

Oh, and this group of noticably underage girls walked by and the creepy looking bouncer with the long hair was looking at their butts, licking his lips, pulled them over and told them he'll get them in the club. These girls were obviously still in high school. I'm from New Orleans and used to clubs, especially with Bourbon Street. I have never been so disgusted with a club in all my life. The guys at the door ARE racist against mexicans and blacks, I witnessed it with my own eyes, especially with the bouncer calling the group of blacks n*ggers. Horrible.......horrible......racist club.

Unreal night club – Been going to Club Curve for 4 years. Unreal!!! Sexy, inviting, friendly, non-aggressive and a Woman's Playground. Been to 2 other "lifestyle" clubs expecting the same as Curve, I was greatly disappointed. Curve is like an alternate Universe.

Just BAD!!! – So I went to this club last night for my birthday and it was HORRIBLE!!!! First of all, i waited in line to get in for an hour and a half before i gave up. I walked to the front of the line to the door and the only way to get in was to slip the bouncers $20! Which DOES NOT include the $10 cover charge. The staff is screwing people over. $30 is not worth going into this rinky dinky club! The club was super packed there was no way to even walk! This club made my birthday a HORRIBLE experience. If there were a negative rating i would give this club it!
