Good Thai food – I eat there pretty often & the food is always good because i know they make everything when you order it

it is not a crowded restaurant so you always enjoy a nice meal there.

WORST THAI IN SAN ANTONIO – this was the biggest waste of time and money. definitely the WORST thai restaurant in san antonio. the food was old and they were out of everything. what i read on the menu was not what i got on my plate. The bill for this terrible experience was much higher than they ought to be charging. i felt like doing a dine and dash it was so bad. i cant believe they actually charged us so much for such nasty thai food. i should have gone with my instinct and left the second we got our drinks. Dont waste your time, effort or money on thai lao. this place sux.

Worst Thai Place Ever!!! – ThIs place was so bad that I actually created an account to let people know how horrible this place was. When I ordered what san antonio express news claimed one of the top 10 thai dishes in san antonio I was really disappointed. For one they didn't have the main sauce that was supposed to go on the dish, and it was extremely overpriced for what I got. It tasted like ramen mixed with lots of lime and dirty feet. After reading the first persons review I can't help but think that it was written by the owner of the restaurant. I should have known to stay away from this place when i noticed the parking lot was empty. Had a read the reviews before hand it could have prevented me from wasting $36.00 on trying the worst thai food in san antonio. I honestly don't know how this place is still in business. If your reading this before your thinking of trying it DON"T!!!

Such a surprise! – You don't often find delivery options that offer quite as exquisite a menu as Thao Lao. Their service is impeccable, the delivery time lightning quick, and their food is just heavenly. I would definitely recommend the Nem Tahdear. But their curry dishes are also to die for, and their sushi is delicious.

Thai Lao = Lousy Thai – Dirty soy saucer, dusty condiments, dinghy cups, old ingredients, tiny size scoop of white rice. Even the service was slow. We were the only ones there! Just bad. Something just isn't right there. Is it a front for another business in the back? Just odd. They sure seem like they don't really care if they go under or not. How much is the rent across from North Star Mall? They can't be paying it with the guest checks.

pretty bad all around – I gave this place a few shots. My brother SWORE by it and when they first opened they did actually have good sized portions now they're really poor. Last time i tried to just pick up and order ( because i didn't want to sit around this uncomfortable place alone ) they completely messed it up, I asked where the sushi i ordered was and all the waiter had to say was, "Yes, we have sushi..." not even understanding that i had ordered it, and they didn't roll it. I don't understand how they're still in business, because nobody is ever there. Prices are high, not due to fine cuisine by any means. i could go on and on...

I will NEVER eat there again and NEVER recommend this place – Read my boyfriends review at: Cityguide.aol just look up Thai Lao & find the reviews.

My boyfriend is a huge fan of Thai food so a few weeks ago as we were leaving North Star Mall we saw 'Thai Lao' across the street and decided to give it a shot. BIG MISTAKE!

We arrived 2 hours before closing time on a Friday night and there were no customers (Gee I wonder why!). The menu did not offer many traditional Thai appetizers or entrees & our waiter was lame - he did not even know anything about Thai food in general. My entree came out correct but skimpy for the price. My boyfriend's entree came out served with a glass noodle when it was suppose to come with egg noodle - these noodles are very different. When we complained to the waiter about this he said, "we are out of egg noodle." This is a surprise since almost 80% of their entrees is suppose to come with egg noodle. I guess they just give everyone glass noodle hoping no one will notice. He said that we could switch it out with something else so my boyfriend did get a curry dish instead but it was still not that good. Our entrees took a long time to come out considering we were the only customers. When our bill arrived we noticed we were overcharged on our appetizer (egg rolls) which were suppose to be $5.25 but rang up as $6.95 - the waiter said, "I just push a button."....(ok so I hope you can see now how lame this place is)...so he corrected the price but then we noticed we were overcharged over 25 cents on tax and basically he just rounded the tax up to $3 (which is illegal). We just wanted to leave so we paid the bill but left the waiter a skimpy tip for overcharging us on the tax and also because he sucked.

The food is overpriced, not authentic, & the staff try to rip you off - Don't waste your time or money here. We checked out a great Thai restaurant a few weeks after this incident called 'Thai Chili' off of Thousand Oaks and it turned out to be really good-go there instead!!

Gross! – BIG disappointment! I thought that because it looked nice and it was across from North Star Mall that it would be good. It even sounds expensive and classy. Well, the prices were expensive but the place looked shabby inside. I should have known by the taste of the nasty city water they brought us that it was going to be a bad experience. I literally cringed when I took a drink of that water. I cannot imagine what was in it! Then we waited 25 minutes for our LUNCH which was $10.95 a plate. Then looking at the servings I thought they accidently brought us something from the childrens' menu! For that price a plate there would normally be something to pack up and take home. Then if I hadn't had enough disappointments by now, when I took a bite of the food I had waited so long for it was COLD!!!! We made them take it all back and didn't pay a dime! Will NEVER go back. I can't wait to go to the new restaurant that ends up in its place because Thai Lao will NOT last!!!! GROSS!!!!! I wish I would have read the other two reviews before wasting 25 mins. of my time!

An unwelcome surprise – After searching high and low for a Halloween mask for an amazing womans daughter we decided to stop here since it was next to a Halloween store to grab a bite to eat. Seemed nice at first but that all changed when a napkin was unrolled and we were greeted by a german c0ckroach that had made itself a home in it. Needless to say we left and will not be returning.
