boutique style spa. Loved my experience with Afterglow Medical Spa! From the moment that I walked in the door of this intimate space, I was warmly greeted and was made to feel at ease. I was there for a consultation with Dr. Falvo and was thinking about having the IPL laser therapy done. ( a friend had referred me) After meeting with Dr. Falvo she explained to me that because of my brown spots were caused from pregnancy and not sun damage that I was probably not a good candidate for the IPL procedure. Instead she recommended that I go through an extensive 6 week microderm and chemical peel process that would help to re texture my skin and lighten the dark patches. The recommended procedure was considerably less expensive than the one I originally went in for ! I have had two treatments so far by their caring esthetician ( who gives an awesome facial massage btw) and have already seem a tremendous improvement. I strongly recommend this office to anyone that is looking for honest, realistic results with a caring, informative staff.

Reassurance through expert medical advice. I've never tried any type of chemical or laser treatments on my face. I learned about Radiesse and researched it extensively. I liked the fact that the results lasted about a year and that it stimulated your own collagen production. I was intrigued, yet a bit afraid: after all, it is my face, and I didn't want to risk scarring. I appreciated having a true physician, Dr. Falvo, answer my medical questions, and I was reassured. We took a before photo and she followed my directions for a conservative dosage. I can't stand needles, but I was thrilled that her skillful needle technique didn't hurt at all. The only side effect was a mild bruising that I covered with a good concealer that I use for my under-eye circles. About 6 weeks later, I went back for my "after" photo. Then I could really see the difference in the creases around my mouth! Because the results were so gradual, no one asked if I had had anything "done."

Never AGAIN!!!. When I went in for injectable fillers, I had had them previously. I was aware that swelling and bruising might mildly occur. I was told by the doctor that it might not be a great idea if I was going to be out in public, but after a little persuasion from her aestitician I decided to go for it! The treatment was aggressive, the pain was intense, and the final result is a purple line on my face where the filler was placed. Any questions I asked seemed to be answered nervously, and basically...not answered. If I were to get anything like this done again, I would go to a more knowledgeable location with a more credible background.
We agree that it is most unfortunate that temporary bruising occurred after receiving a dermal filler. However, temporary bruising is a common side affect when someone receives any type of injection. We forewarned this client both verbally and in writing that temporary bruising was a possibility. Dr. Falvo expressed concern directly to the client about the procedure being completed so closely to the day of her big event. Her aesthetician showed the client pictures of what the potential bruising might look like and offered the client complimentary camouflage makeup if temporary bruising should occur. While we understand that the client was upset, it is not because she wasn't made aware of the possible temporary side affects.
cleared up my acne. I don't usually do these sort of things but I am so delighted about the results that have taken place! I am a 43 year old woman and have been suffering with adult acne for about 10 years. I feel like I have tried just about everything, and tried almost every type of prescription. When my dermatologist suggested that we use accutane as my last resort, I immediately balked at the idea and started looking elsewhere. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Falvo. I made an appointment with her and she suggested a series of treatmens with microdermabrasion and chemical peels specifically for acne. Long story short, it has only been 4 weeks since I have started treatment t and my skin has not looked this good since I was a teenager. As an added bonus it has really reduced the appearance of my wrinkles and scarring. Carrie the aesthetician has done an excellent job. I HIGHLY recommend going here.

Five Stars!. I had been not so happy with results I had received in the past, but my fears and concerns were quickly and honestly put to rest by Dr. Falvo and her amazing team. No high pressure, just good solid advice and suggestions. Very happy with both procedures I have had (Botox and Micropeel), Afterglow has earned a repeat client in me and one who would highly recommend their services to anyone.

I had the IPL treatment on my decolletage. Heather's spa is very elegant and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and caring.
They kept checking with me to see if I had any pain during the procedure. I was given numbing cream 20 minutes before the procedure and it must have helped a lot, because I had very little pain. I don't believe all facilities will be able to offer this because it is a prescription cream, but with After Glow, you can have the confidence you need that not only will your experience be a beautifying one but also very safe.
After the procedure I was given instructions on how to care for my new to be baby soft skin. I am of Irish decent. I do tan, but it is mainly by connecting the dots of freckles! Post procedure, the freckles got a little red, turned dark, then sloughed off. I have smoother even toned skin than I have had since junior high, before I started tanning myself. I can wear low cut blouses to go out for a night of dancing or plunging neckline cocktail dresses and my skin looks very young and youthful. Thank you Heather and Afterglow staff.

Gem of a Medical Spa. I have been shopping around different medical spas in order to get the appearance of a facelift without actually having to get under the knife. I thought that I had already made my decision , but a friend gave me a 20% off coupon to Afterglow so I thought I would try them. I met with Dr. Falvo (Heather) and was immediately impressed with her caring and interest in my needs. She listened to what my concerns were and came up with a treatment plan without being pushy. Her staff was very personable and caring as well. Her nurse performed my lazer treatment then Dr. Falvo gave me the injections, and i was surprised at how little it stung. This medical spa is a gem!
