Tips for Strongs Everyday Tavern
really good food. I live near by and finally stopped in to try strong?s for dinner. Great food and really good cocktails! I tried the chicken florentine entree and it was outstanding. Service was solid without being too stiff or formal. Only three deserts offered on the menu, but the two we tried were amazing! It?s not a huge place so I?d recommend calling ahead on weekends.
Great Casual Date Place!. Strong's is the perfect place for a casual weeknight date. The atmosphere is chill and the food is great, especially if you like simple, yet tasty home style cooking. The meatloaf if my favorite - it's even better than Grandma's! My guy and I frequent Strong's and we're never disappointed by the food or the service. Sit out on the patio on nice evenings for the full effect. And if you live up north in Plano, I highly recommend Red's Patio Grill off Preston and Spring Creek. They have a similar menu and atmosphere. Like I said this is a great casual date spot. Enjoy!
Best Top-Shelf Margaritas. Dean Fearing needs to take note. Strong's Margarita selection is quite possibly the best in Dallas. Nowhere will you find margaritas made from different kinds of tequila and all being distinctly different. The food here is generally quite good, with a few menu items sticking out. The UpTown Dog, is one of the most ingenius dishes around and is great during a ball game. Their chips and salsa are also outstanding. Overall, Strong's is a great casual pick that I recommend for anyone who loves margaritas.
best $3 margarita in town. loved Strong's! Just went the other day after work for a fantastic $3 rita, the happy hour there is great! Cool atmosphere, nice staff, tons of parking, right in the middle of town! The environment is really open and inviting! Had a blast!
Patio meal.
We had a seat the first time on the patio. It is really special.There was a fireplace with a fire that smelled great.
We started with margaritas that were fantastic. The waiter said they are made from fresh juice. Mine had a spray of Mezcal over it. It gave it a slightly smokey taste. The onion rings were coated with a spicy batter. The waiter recommended to try them with bbq sauce. He was right. I had baby back ribs and my date had a broiled seabass. Her meal came with home-made mashed potatoes. Mine has fresh fries. He recommended the coconut pie that D Magazine said was one of the best. They were right. I took my boss the next time at lunch and we sat upstairs were it was less crowded. He had a pork chop that he liked and I tried a burger with bbq sauce that was very good. They said brunch would start soon.
What DO you have?. Horrible!! We ordered shrimp nachos - they didn't have them. Then it was meatloaf - they were out. The waiter suggested pork chops, only to have him return to the table and tell us that wasn't available either. He then steered us towards the fish, only to come back AGAIN and tell us they didn't have that either - no lie - and HE had suggested each of the substitutions. If I hadn't been there myself I would have never believed it. Plates had food on the bottom of them and the place seemed to be in total melt down mode. Server was polite and the manager comped our drinks and gave us gift certificates before we left to have lunch at The Porch. The manager said all the problems had something to do with testing a new brunch menu on this Sunday morning....don't know about that - no one ever mentioned or offered brunch to us. I wish this place luck. Honestly, they are going to need it.
Great atmosphere, slow drinks. The atmosphere is good for a happy hour group or a casual date but probably not for an intimate dinner. Nice decor, good wine selection. The calamari and that amazing spicy dipping sauce is heavenly! Easy parking, valet or street.
Eighty brands of tequila!. Ok, they also have great food! But 80 BRANDS OF TEQUILA! WOW! We came in for a burger which was fantastic! Juicy, big crisp piece of lettuce, huge burger patty and a bright red tomato slice! It was the best burger I have had in a long time! THEN we went to the bar and had one of their now famous Dallas fresh squeezed margaritas. All in all the best time I have had in a long time. This is the kind of place you go to eat but stay to dine.
Refined casual dining. Have you been here yet? This is like being in a San Francisco fine Old Californian business dinner location on Van Ness street. I would call it refined casual dining. The owner mixed the dark wood with the black and white clad waiters then raised the roof and added clean lines and an airy feel . The patio is one of the first in Dallas NOT to face a street ( what is up with Dallas and street dining? Yuck) and the service is divine. I went for a margarita that was fresh squeezed and hands down the best I have ever had. Try it for lunch, dinner or just a drink, this is a must see, eat and drink place!
best burger anywhere.
I was visting friends from out of town, and they took me to Strongs Everyday Tavern, we ate outside, on a great night, super nice patio
I had no idea that I would come across the best burger I have had in a long long time, my friends wanted me to see this new place, sort of feels like a new version of a cool New York City Hip Tavern, great vibe, We all had margaritas and loved them, all fresh lime juice, we needed to have more, so we did. a few too many.
I had the burger, they had the ribs which they went crazy for. one of my buds had the meatlof and loved it,
smart of this place to have the choice of a full entree, or a salad or burger. something for everyone it seems.
