“great location!”
“Awesome experience at Color Salon, the airbrush artist was sweet as pie and gave me a fabulous tan for my sisters wedding, I needed something light but extremely even (bright bridesmaid dress, never good).”
“think there an amazing addition to the block and they have started something that i think will be amazing and continue to spread its way up and down 14th street, moving right into meat packing.”
“the hardwood flooring is beautiful and their bed selection is marvelous.”
“It is the nicest and most professional tanning place I have been too.”
“thanks again for the great airbrush I will be back for sure!”
“the atmosphere is great and the people are so nice that work that and come in!”
“great tan, great prices, great look!”
“was very comfortable and it was quick and easy I was thinking it was going to be a huge process and its not!”
from good to bad, fast. i joined over a year ago and never had a problem until recently. the woman who managed the salon had a baby a couple of months ago and the service went downhill. first, the hours because inconsistent. it would very often close early. and for the last several days, the salon has been closed, period. no sign on the door. no notice to members. not ok. but even the condition of the salon itself went bad. the bathroom was "out of order" for several weeks and the floor was filthy. the computer broke recently and the machines had to be turned on manually. this place went from 5 stars to 1 star fast. i sent an email tonight to cancel my memberhip but it bounced back because the inbox was full. i want to believe that the couple is just really busy with the baby and will return to managing/caring about the salon someday soon. until then, you may want to consider another tanning salon.
HONEST REVIEW. Ive been to my fair share of tanning salons in New York City and elsewhere, this place is the cleanest around and the customer service is second to none.
Be very careful. The people that own this place used to own Bond Street Tanning: the establishment that literally stole all of the money from their clients when it closed up overnight. However, they were "smart" about it and sold quite a few large packages, some for about $1,000 (airbrush tanning sessions). The owner Uriel is/was a low level real estate agent and his fiancée is a frustrated city girl from Wisconsin who is the typical “model” slash this, that, and every other thing in between. Now this may seem irrelevant in terms of a review of a business; however it is their mutual desperation which has in the past and currently leads them to steal money from their clients in order to compensate for their poor business choices and desire for a lifestyle which they can not keep up with. It is their unrelenting need to maintain an appearance of success which drives them to do so. Remember the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior - stay FAR away; I would know better than most as I worked for them. J
5 stars for the airbrushing!!. I looooove to fake tan! love it. I have just about every product on Sephora shelves in my own bathroom. I love to experiment with new things and try absolutely everything out there. I ran across Color Tanning in the Allure issue of last month and decided to book an appt with Nicole Zito the artist that was mentioned in the article. She was sooooo sweet. The awkwardness that one can endure being barely dressed can scar you for life...but she was super talkative and just the sweetest. You could really tell that she cared what she was doing. Every little inch was perfectly sprayed...it was a great change to the "power hose" that other salons can use. Usually your done in 3 minutes. Nicole took 20 and I received the most stunning, natural tan ive ever had. This salon really knows what they are doing. Perfecto!
GREAT AIRBRUSH.
so I had a family reunion to go to and I had to get a tan on my pasty white skin. I only had two days before the reunion so decided to try out the airbrush by nicole. nicole actually traveled to my apt and airbrushed me in the comfort of my own home!
her work yielded an amazing natural tan result... like I had gotten a real natural looking tan not that orange streaky result.
nicole also walked me through the entire process for before preparation and after in order to maximize the results. I looked and felt amazing for the reunion!
DONT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!!!!!.
I made an appointment for an airbrush tan after reading the glowing review in Allure magazine. I had a wedding to go to and decided I was going to splurge the $100 bucks for the "Five-Star Results". I made the appointment a week in advance and they asked for a credit card to "hold the appointment". The next day I see that they had already charged my card, more than a week before my actual appointment. I called and I get a oh ok, i'll have them take care of it brush off but it was never taken care of so I just left it. 15 minutes after I arrive im told that I am not on the schedule mind you I have already been charged but it will be a few more minutes. 20 minutes later, Nicole comes and tells me her airbrush gun isnt working, that shes sorry, she will give me a free tan, etc (all bs) and the biggest lie is that I will get my money back that I have already been charged. I have called 5 times and each time I am told I will receive a call back and nothing and still out $100 bucks a week later. FYI

Free week of tanning :).
great promo where u can buy a week free of tanning with only one tan for $39.00, the next 7 days u can come in and try EVERY machine in the place for the same price.
if u like it, which u will..u can get a pack of tans that last anywhere from 3 months up to an entire year. i use only high pressure machines, which of course r the most expensive machines to tan in. they r super affordable at color...the cheapest ive found in the city, especially to tan in this nice of equipment...any cheaper you'll be in stand ups at Hollywood Tan burning ur skin off for $30 bucks a month...yuck.
Addicted to the Airbrushing!. I first found out about the salon through the Allure magazine issue last month with fergie on the cover...quite a few salons were listed under the "golden touch" directory, but this salon was the only one rated with 5 stars, of course it was a bit more expensive than the rest...but the reason is because of the time and effort that goes into the airbrush. My color was mixed just for my specific skin tone and was applied with the tiniest gun...like the size of a pen, slowly she blended my color so it went on just right...not too dark and not too lite. Nikki was really concerned whether I liked the results or not, just really sweet. Ive already scheduled my follow up appointment and will be addicted for life...no more sun damage for this body. Completely UV FREE :)
I GO THERE FOR THE HOTTIES.
The men that work there are sooo god damn hot. I am praying on them not being gay... cause if that were the case i dont know if id be paying so much.
if you go you know who im talking about...tall dark and handome.... that gorgeous girl might be a problem though...
