Exquisite – A great looking place with excellent Thai food without the VAST over crowding

Very disappointing – I've been wanting to try Cafe Chili since it opened and I was truly disappointed when I ordered from them tonight. Since Tuk Tuk closed I've had a hard time finding good reliable Thai delivery but this place was by far the worst I've tried. The first disappointment was that they included a plastic fork instead of chopsticks with the order! I ordered chicken satay and drunken noodles with tofu (my favorite Thai dish). The chicken in the satay was spongy not unlike the 'chicken' product that they use in chicken McNuggets. The drunken noodles were soggy, absolutely drenched in oil and there was not one piece of tofu. Not one! I could only get down a few bites of flavorless soggy noodles before I just threw the whole thing in the trash. $17 down the drain. Oh well, the search for great drunken noodles in Cobble Hill continues...

Good Food, Fast Friendly Service – Don't be fooled by the name. Its not tex-mex! My wife and I were lamenting the passing of the dearly departed TukTuk when we stumbled upon Cafe Chili. Cafe Chili replaces what used to be an interesting but sadly eternally empty Siam themed restaurant. In contrast Cafe Chili was totally packed with people but we managed to snag a quick seat. Our servers were extremely friendly. We ordered and were served quickly. The Papaya Salad was nice and fresh tasting. Not as spicy as we would have liked it (TUK TUK!) but good. My wife had Pad Thai with Shrimp and I had Basil Chili with Chicken. My wife liked her meal just fine. Mine was also good. I should have ordered sticky rice but the regular rice was ok. It had a strange texture that caught me off guard and maybe wasn't the greatest flavor. It wasn't a meal killer. The servers were also vert attentive to the status of our beverages. By the end we were so full we couldn't even consider desert. The ones we saw looked tasty. We liked that it wasn't as scene-ish as Joya. When we're looking for Thai we will definitely consider Cafe Chili.
