“The Parlor could not be more fun.”
“Final Four at the Best sports bar ever!”
“I've never been a huge fan of sports bars, so for me, it's a sports bar without the meat heads.”
“Two levels, plasma's at every angle, a great sound system, an amazing selection of draft beer and a staff that seems to really enjoy being there.”
“It's got great food(surprising for a sports bar), a good crowd(nice ratio gals to guys), great entertainment(as many flat screens as you could fit in this place), and great music.”
“The people are cool and not pretentious like in Hollywood.”
“The drinks are not too ridiculously overpriced (for the Westside), but The Parlour wants to be too many things to too many people.”
“Food cold and slow.”
Happy Hour!!!.
My favorite happy hour West of the 405 (of course, I rarely go East). I live in the heart of Venice near plenty of bars/restaurants with impressive happy hour deals, but haven't found anything that beats The Parlor.
Beer prices are great; selection is vast but average (lots of taps, but they are mostly American/Import lagers with some good brews mixed in). Liquor/wine prices are good too, but I rarely stray from beer.
Food is good-to-great. Appetizers are well above average. Love the fried ravioli, quesadillas, and sweet potato fries. Don't eat meals a lot, but haven't been disappointed when I have. Heard great things about salads, but I eat meat.
The staff does a great job taking care of the customers. Bartenders and waitstaff are friendly and responsive. Never seen anyone go thirsty. Do a great job remembering you and treating you right.
Does well serving multiple audiences. Games on TV for sports fan, trivia for the die-hard competitors, DJs late at night for those who need to move, upstairs porch for smokers. Has several separate areas (game room: air hockey & video games, outdoor smoking, bar area, table seating, & private couches) to please most crowds.
Great at Happy Hour. Good all night. Top-notch sports bar with good food and great staff. Weekend nights get a bit "scene-y" so choose your night if you want to avoid (or encounter) crowds.
good at being a sportsbar, good at being a club, great at being neither. This placed is pretty cool during the week but I generally avoid it on the weekends. It gets SO PACKED!!! Not pleasantly busy so that its filled with interesting people but slammed so you can't move. And my girls and I usually get walked in right away but it seems like guys will have to wait a while. My roomie's boyfriend was stuck outside for a half an hour last week after we walked right in:(
GREAT Sports Bar on the Westside. Glad there is another sport's bar on the westside. On the weekend nights it is more like a night club atmosphere.
Final Four at the Best sports bar ever!!!!!!!!. Me and 7 friends decided to attend the parlor for this weekends final four games. we got there early to get a good table because it filled up fast. our server was melissa and she greeted us with a smile right away. more of our friends joined us and greeted with prompt service as well. the games were great the food was great and my drink was never empty, it was always refilled right away. when it came time to pay we asked our server if she could separate the checks for us. i was amazed at how quickly and accurate this was accomplished. as we were leaving she thanked us again and welcomed us back. We will be back soon.
Always a Good Time. This place has become my regular spot. If you are all cute girls you will have no problem getting right in. If you are nice to the bouncers they will be be nice back, in turn letting you right in. Guys do have to wait sometimes but they always get in eventually. If guys go early, around 10 they shouldn't have too long of a wait. The Parlor is not pretentious, just be nice to the bouncers. The inside is all fun young people right out of college and in their 20's. There is no dance floor but in the pit people make it a dance floor. The people are cool and not pretentious like in Hollywood. Every time I go to Hollywood I just wish I was back at the Parlor. Its also pretty big and there are lots of regulars.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!. This place has just about the worst customer service I have ever encountered in a bar in my life. Our taxi driver stole my friend's iphone and the bouncer at the Parlour was completely not helpful in helping us get it back. The bouncer even went as far as to accuse my friend of losing the phone herself and that the taxi driver had nothing to do with it. When we threatened the taxi driver that we were going to call the police, the bouncer started freaking out and told us not to do that under any circumstances. I have no idea what kind of shady business is going on there, but it must be something pretty bad if they were so terrified of the police coming to help us out. The taxi driver eventually gave in and took the iphone out of his pocket (we all saw him do this) and pretended to find it in the taxi. The bouncer at the parlour then yelled at us for causing a scene. I will definitely be calling the management to complain. There are plenty of other bars in Santa Monica to go to, and I will not be returning to the Parlour where its patron's are treated horribly.
Fun Place, Gets Crowded, Younger Crowd on Saturday, Great Food. There was a line starting at 10 pm. So get there early. Their drinks were made well. The food here is awesome and our waitress was prettygood.. Coming at 10 pm and being crowded we still managed to find a seat. They had a DJ and and played videos (Video DJ, some trivia going. Foozball. Lots of good looking people. Upstairs had a small hang out area, became extremely crowded though. This is a very fun place; however, don't expect this to be a place where you will be dancing nightclub style.
Potential is there, but needs attention to customer service. We decided to check out the Parlor as it's still somewhat new to the neighborhood and it looks to be a great place to watch some sports. Arrived and by the bar, but we grabbed a table, big mistake. After 5 minutes a waitress comes so we ask for menus, another 5 minutes goes by and we wonder since there is only 15 patrons how longer it would take if they were busy. She finally brings us 2 menus for 4 of us. We then had to yell at each other to communicate over the TV commercials. When I asked to have the table wiped off the waitress proceeds to wipe the table pushing all the crumbs into our laps. The food menu looked really good, but too many let downs early on so we bailed.
Hot and cold. I usually come for football games on weekends, and the service is hot and cold depending on who's working. If a young, quiet, white kid is there running food, its like you order it and its there, longest I've waited for food was about 10 minutes. Not only that, but when you need something, you tell him and he takes care of it right then and there, no matter how busy it is. When he's not, it'll take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, and good luck getting service. I'm a chick who's a picky eater, and for a bar, their food is pretty good. Go Cowboys!!!!!
coming back when i'm in town. I was in town for a couple months because of work, and it was a fun place to go to. Troy and Damon are some of the best bartenders on the westside, and if you ever need anything, look for the kid with braces, he takes care of everything. Look forward to coming back when I'm in town.
