I have been a very very long time Client of both Neiman Marcus ( at the Country House ) and Bergdorf Goodman in NYC, where I have a couple of apartments. I am from the east coast, apparently. Back east I received superlative service, received free gifts, was above In Circle status, and bought tons of items because I tend to purchase a lot more when given good service and assistance. I love NM and BG back east....especially BG.
Since moving to San Diego .... I stupidly decided to order my favourite Fragrance from NM in San Diego.....what an utter and horrible MISTAKE! I could have bought it at Bergdorf's......but I wanted to establish a relationship with a sales person here....over the phone, because I just don't have the time to go into the store. I have Excellent Personal Shoppers in BG , who call me when they receive items they feel I would like. Free Shipping and No Tax.....oh and Free Returns too!
Anyway...the first associate I dealt with was a mess. She didn't know anything about anything, however after an hour...she found my Cologne. I NEVER RECEIVED IT....and she did not put " Signature Required"....as I instructed her. If anything is left at the door it will definitely be taken by someone because I live in the center of town and there is a great deal of activity.
I called Customer Service in San Diego.....I stressed " Signature Required" with them as well.
Well.....I never received it.....they left it outside probably. I contacted her.....but instead of dealing with the situation, she handed off to the online customer service.....who could care less! They told me there was nothing they could do!!!!
While I was trying to communicate the situation to her.....she insisted that the package was signed for! I know that I did not sign for it! They gave me a name that I don't sign with....which is why it wasn't me. I live in a huge house alone. I told them how I sign my name. They were basically acting as if I was trying to get over on them for my measly $84.00 Fragrance...insisting it was paid for......I had ordered this item before Christmas! It is now almost March....and no Cologne!!!!
In Store Customer Service falsely stated that they would look into it for me and " GET BACK TO ME"........WHICH THEY NEVER EVER DID.
I STILL do not have my item and they have my $100.00....with tax.
( BG.....No Tax) I regret not buying at BG.
Anyway.....it is now 2/26/14...............NO CALLS......NO FRAGRANCE....NOTHING!!!!
The Customer Service is retched.....simply appalling! I have had better service at Rite-Aid!
I am so disgusted by their lack of caring!
I shall NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!!
WARNING: DO NOT SHOP AT NEIMAN MARCUS IN SAN DIEGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shop somewhere where after you give them your money...they still give a damn.
NM in San Diego takes your money.....and to hell with you after.
They do not deserve your money.
THE WORST NM EXPERIENCE !
And now they SPAM me several times daily with their ads and such!
I repeat............DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!!!
Very high end stuff. If I can't find shoes or the right belt at Nordstroms I'll look here next. I often find something and then look for it online from their website for less. Good selection and staff.
One of the mostly luxurious department stores where you'll find help at every corner. You'll only find name brand designer items here. Don't be shocked at the prices as your paying for the experience as well as the item.
Awful Customer Service - Worst shopping experience ever – I just had one of the worst shopping experiences of my life at San Diego Neiman Marcus. I needed to return some items I got as a gift and the sales associates and manager made it a night mare. Apparently they said they didn't sell one of the items in their store and if it's not in their "Book" it doesn't exist. I told them it was purchased at the Newport Beach store and the manager said I could have gotten them anywhere and refused to take it back. It was bought with the other items I was returning. I had to insist and go round and round with this manager of the lingerie department about calling the Newport Beach store and confirming it was purchased only days ago at the Newport Beach store by the person who purchased it, but it took arguing with her for almost 20 minutes for her to do that. In the meantime she was rude, hostile and discourtious. No custmor service. This woman isn't fit to deal with public. I also called the other store in Newport Beach and got the manager of the dejpartment the item was purchased at and she also confirmed that it was purchased there by one of my family members and they had the charge record of it. I wasn't trying to get cash back. All I wanted was a credit that would be used. at their store which would put the same money spent orignially back to them. The manager at the SD store finally acknowledged reluctantly that I could return them. She did not apologize at all for the inconvience and her rude and nasty behavior.
But at a store like Neiman's I shouldn't have to be treated badly and rudely and basically called a liar. I reported this manager's awful behavior to her manager and have yet to get a call back.
I encourage everyone to go to Nordstroms or Bloomingdales, which have the same merchandise, and they have awesome customer service and really care about their customers.
Luxury department store combines haute couture and classic elegance. – In Short
In 1907, the first Neiman Marcus opened in Dallas. Today, you can buy ready-to-wear clothes at locations from coast to coast. Shelves hold merchandise from an all-star team of designers: Manolo Blahnik, Anne Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and more. The shoe department is small and upscale: think Fendi and Prada. Personal shoppers are available to track down the perfect Chanel nail polish to complement the Kate Spade bag that matches the DKNY skirt.
