Not as hustly-bustly as some other Viet joints on Wash Ave, but this place still delivers a solid pho for those cold winter days.
My jammiest jam here is pho "B15," with brisket, flank steak, fatty flank steak, tendon and tripe.
Old beef in tired broth – This place was fine when it opened a couple of years ago, but it has seriously gone downhill. Tonight, my wife and I had some of the worst pho we've ever had. The beef was old, gross and borderline unsafe. Chunks of fatty meat were practically disintegrating. A slice was shifting into a metallic blue coloring. The broth was not clear like it should be, but dull and tired. Pho should brighten you up, not disgust you. We should have known it would not be a good night when the waiter took our order while listening to his cellphone. I've had pho on three continents and up and down Vietnam itself, but tonight's slop made me feel a mixture of revulsion, resentment, foolishness and self-pity, not to mention pity for anyone else who had to experience the same. In short, this Pho Hoa travesty is a felony against the great cuisine of Vietnam.
Best Pho in Philly – I ate there last weekend and I can't wait to go back this weekend. I'm totally hooked! The service is great and the food is outstanding!
Pho Hoa - Good Vietnamese Food, Good Service, Great Price! – This place is great. I've dined here at least a dozen times in the past six months. You can actually get a delicious Vietnamese meal for $10. Try the Cuan Goi (Summer shrimp roll) appitizer for $3 I think . Now I know there are zillions of Vietnamese restaurants in Philly, believe me this one is one of the best! A favorite entree of mine is the filet of salmon in a sweet and peppery "Sriratcha" type sauce -- yum! New to Vietnamese cuisine? The menu has pictures of it's main dishes and there is a thorough explanation as well! The service is always quick and attentive. They have some really exotic fruit drinks (beware of the Durian fruit! Flavorful but the smell is something so awful it is nauseating!) I'm giving this five stars because I believe it is the best meal you can get in Philly for ten bucks or less.
best pho in town – this place is great. my husband & i go out for pho at least twice a week and this is the best we've tried so far. there are so many pho joints in town and most of them are very good, but the broth (which is really the most important thing) cant be beat. in addition to that, the vietnamese coffee is great and they also offer a ton of different bubble teas is you want to have a little fun with the drinks. the service here is better than any of the pho houses we've been to. if your looking for a good noodle soup, this is definately the place to go.
