bad practice – I've been taking two children to Snodgrass and King for over seven years, starting before they had a Spring Hill office. My younger son had braces with Wendy Oakes going on three years.

Apparently, the practice "let go" Dr. Oakes months ago and replaced her with Dr. Habeeb. My last discussion with Dr. Oakes included having my son's braces removed, as his gums and enamel were being damaged, and our plan had been impressions for retainer and removal on the next visit. I only found out a new orthodontist was there when I scheduled this last appointment with Dr. Oakes and was casually imformed she'd been gone for months. I never was notified in the slightest way that Dr. Oakes had been let go, and replaced with a new person. Dr. Habeeb's name was never mentioned, her picture never placed at the doorway. The office manager said "They'd been trying to tell people when they called!" I said they had patient addresses and was told they'd "decided not to send out a letter."

I've been waiting anxiously for four months, worrying about permanent damage, and listening to an assistant say "four more weeks" over and over again., and assuming Dr. Oakes and I were still on the same page. I had to tell the receptionist myself I wanted the braces taken off. The practice manager talked to me, and said "Well, he'll be evaluated today and if he's ready we will take them off." She also said "Didn't your son notice the different doctor?" Finally, after I voiced my complaints and mentioned a lawyer -no kidding- I was sent a message that Dr. Habeeb agreed with me, that because of "poor hygeine" the braces were doing more harm than good.

The *practice manager* came out to have me sign a release for early removal. I refused. I had to demand to see Dr. Habeeb. She refused to accept any responsibility for any of this, stating that she was just an employee. She said she introduced herself my my child, saying "Hi, I'm Dr. M iriam and I'm taking over from Dr. Oakes." She told this to a child laying down in a dentist chair and seemed to think this was adequate transfer of care. I asked if she was a licensed physician and she said "Yes." And then she had the nerve to say she was willing to finish the treatment, and I wasn't being forced to sign this release.

I am a retired physician myself. Nothing about this experience was adequate, and I suspect a good lawyer could make a case of it.

Not very happy. Will not go back. – As physician myself and a new patient , I understand need for baseline X-rays, but the office made no effort to get X-rays taken by another dentist not more than 2 months prior to my appointment. There is no concern about cost or excess radiation.

My hygienist and dentist were both very condescending and very rough.

When I went to schedule some follow up work (a crown) the office insisted on taking my credit card payment for half the expected copay before even making the appointment. Unbelievable--never before have I seen such a practice.

unhappy with service – I have been taking my kids to Snodgrass King for a while now and using Dr. Oakes as well for their Ortho work. I have consistently been feeling less and less happy about their services. First, the people at the main desk have messed up on more than one of my kids appts. My taking off work to bring them their to find they have messed up has happened one to many times. I keep my appointments and so should they! No real appologies are given. The people at the front desk should make sure they are writing EVERY appointment down correctly on their computer and also on the appointment card given to the patient!!!!

Also, not happy with Dr. Oakes. We are done with this! She is not as pleasant with my child as she used to be. My daughter comes out feeling bad every time she goes in their....feeling like she is always doing something wrong...not a good doctor-patient relationship.

Expensive and unpleasant people. I am disappointed. I brought my kids in for their first cleanings as babies to this place. As the business grew, I felt like my kids were just another number and the prices are too much. Is money their biggest concern or the kids???

Looking for a dentist who actually makes my kids feel good about themselves and are treated with kindness.

AMAZING DENTAL PRACTICE! – BEING A MOTHER, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT I HAVE MY CHILDREN SEE THE BEST OF THE BEST. I TOOK MY ENTIRE FAMILY TO THIS PRACTICE RECENTLY. MY EXPECTATIONS WERE SURPASSED. A LONG LASTING IMPRESSION HAS BEEN MADE ON MYSELF AND MY FAMILY TO KEEP US COMING BACK. DR. SNODGRASS, BEING A SPECIALISTS, DID MORE THAN JUST AN ORDINARY EXAM. HE CHECKED MY CHILD'S BITE, BONE STRUCTURE, GUM TISSUE, TEETH, AND ETC. HE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE. ANSERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. THE OFFICE WAS BUSY AND I DID NOT FEEL RUSHED. HE TOOK HIS TIME AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THOUROUGHLY. DR. SNODGRASS WORKED VERY WELL WITH CHILDREN AND MY KIDS WERE NOT SCARED AND ARE EAGER TO GO BACK. THE OFFICE STAFF IS VERY PLEASANT AS WELL TO WORK WITH FINACIAL SIDE OF THE PRACTICE.

Know before you go – This place advertises heavily, and the dentists are perfectly nice. However, please review your insurance coverage in detail BEFORE you go. Their finance person told me the procedures the dr. recommended for my two kids were completely covered by our dental insurance. She showed me a printout. I was surprised and said, "Are you sure?" and she looked at the computer and said It shows that you are 100% covered. SO I okayed the procedures. Three weeks later, I got an estimate of benefits statement from our insurance showing that while two teeth per child are covered for the procedure, any after that were not covered and that I would owe almost $700. I was astounded and had never encountered this with any dentist in the area. I will say that after a few phone calls, their office did cover the entire cost, but now I am so gun shy that I will not go there again. I would try a dentist that may not have as many bells and whistles to pay for but still does excellent work, such as Dr. Buzz Alexander or Dr. Paul Gilliam.
