Just Not My Favorite – Our waitress was a little strange. It took her too long to take our order and it seemed like she was on Mars. The manager was very nice and one of my friends thought he was hot. lol! I was disappointed in the wine glasses. We got a little glass? I just like my red wine in a big, wine glass. The food was very good. The crab ravioli was to die for. Someone had the gumbo and like it. I don't like a thick, dark roux - it's just not my Momma's. lol! I had the fried oyster salad - I loved it! And of course the best company ever!! I swear you could put me & my girls on a deserted island and we would have the time of our lives!!

Great Food, great value, great ambiance – We went two different nights b/c it was so good. Great decor, modern and relaxed despite upscale food. Two great servers in a row (Bianca, Rich). THey do a nightly 3 course meal for $24. Hard to beat. Friday night was corna nd crab bisque, an amazing redfish with crab claws and oysters and pumpkin creme brulee. All excellent. The next night was almost as good. I highly reccomend this restaurant, wish they would open one in Dallas!

Avoid at all costs – Having eaten at Luke several times, I have finally reached a point where supporting local restaurants no longer applies. John Besch needs to eat there. If he can endorse the poor service, untrained staff, and mediocre food, he needs to get out of the restarurant business. After trying to eat the french fries which are so overly salty you can't taste the potatoes, I mentioned to the server that this seemed to be a consistant problem because I had encountered it every time I had them and had heard the same from others. She mentioned this to the manager who apparently told her to ignore it while presenting me with the full bill.

Another tip to John Besch - if you have a glassed in kitchen where diners can observe the cooks, let them know that it is not acceptable to eat while preparing food. Also, the trendy(?) bathroom toothpaste glasses really don't add to the presentation of wine. Bring out real wine glasses

Tasty but not amazing. – We were there the same night as the previous reviewer but sat in the back of the house, right by the kitchen windows. We thought the service was good, prompt, and polite. We had a group of four so we started out with some fresh oysters from BC that were delicious. We all agree brown water oysters are horrible compared to what we get in the PNW. We also had the foie gras with toast points. That was tasty, although the color of the foie was a bit odd. For my main entree I had the croque madame. The presentation was nice, on a wood cutting board. The sandwich was tasty, but nothing to rave about. My fellow diners had the Shrimp Farsi, that we later learned was missing the sauce, the oyster salad and the steamed mussels. Out of all our entrees, I'd say the oyster salad was the best due to the originality.

One thing that did high;y disturb and gross us out was the kitchen staff with the HUGE open wound on his right forearm and the massive cuts on his knuckles. It didn't look like he was involved in touching any of the food, but being seated right next to the kitchen window, we got an eyeful of GROSS. Recommendation: next time wear a long sleeved shirt, or at the very least wear a bandage. Not good for the diners stomachs.

Terrible Service and Seating are NOT enough to compensate for the Good Food Quality – The location is average and it only got worse. They sat us in the front part of the restaurant, which is basically a bar, but is called a bistro. I guess that is a fancy word for a bar. The chairs are bamboo (or something similar) and look like they came from Pier One. They are less than comfortable for fast food, much less a two hour dinner. I knew we were in trouble when the waiter said "My name is Rich, but if the service is bad, call me Mike." So, Mike, as predicted, was terrible. We waited 10 minutes for the bar drinks while others seated at the bar drank quickly. We waited for side orders, water, and sweetener. When the desserts were ordered, we selected two to share. Before they could come out, Mike tried to give us the bill. When we told him that we hadn't been served dessert yet, he mumbled "Is anything going to go right tonight?" One of the desserts came out, but the other one was wrong. Eventually the second one emerged. The food was good, but the service, seating, and delays were unbearable. The manager knew that there were problems from the beginning and she should have intervened earlier. She did comp the drinks/desserts but that won't get me back to this place. Please save yourself the agony and do NOT go to LUKE. I have encourage everyone that I know to do the same.
