Tailoring a work out program that's personal for your goals. Educating how nutrition is factored in and how to keep you on task and focused. Working with James hands down was the most success I have ever achieved in fitness. My kudos and as always, I will keep recommending WBF!
Good staff, good equipment – I did some physical therapy here and definitely got a lot out of it. The trainer that James paired me with was very careful and obviously knew a lot about what she was doing. They've made really good use of the space they have and it's a great place for a quick, or extended, workout.
great facility...great location – i joined whole body fitness in july for the dual purpose of losing weight and strengthening my neck and back after sustaining an injury a few years back. james paired me up with a personal trainer, erin, who has experience working with physical therapy patients with back issues and together we defined some achievable fitness goals i could get excited about. i'm not a huge fan of stationary cardio equipment (i'd much rather be outside where the trees and squirrels are), so the gym's close proximity to laurelhurst park allows me to customize a weight/cardio workout that's perfect for me. the staff is always very welcoming each time i come in and the facilities are always kept tidy and sanitary.

Best personal training anywhere – I found Whole Body Fitness at a very unhealthy point in my life. I was 5 1/2 years post-baby, and my body was the most out-of-shape it had been in a very long time. James and others at the center really helped me get back on track. I joined in December, 2007. Their extreme knowledge on nutrition, weights work, cardio, and most importantly, how these all fit together to ensure sustainable fitness really made an impact on my life. Within four to five months my cholesterol dropped 70 points and I am now very near the average percentage of healthy body mass for my age and height (means I've built up a good amount of muscle mass and have decreased fat!). I'm so glad to be working with this gym, center, and the trainers. They are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and just plain fun!
It is always nice to hear that we were able to not only make you feel better about yourself - but also help you to achieve your health and wellness goals! Exercise and a healthy lifestyle can truly be a wonder drug!
Best fitness center – In February 2008 I walked into Whole Body Fitness after 4 years of no consistent exercise and lots of nagging back pain. I must have driven by the gym over 100 times when I finally I said to myself "Just do it!". When I walked in I immediately met Laura Kallen, yoga instructor who was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I knew I was looking for a good yoga routine so I signed up for 3 classes and now I'm hooked! I've also been working with James Dubberly on strength training, cardio and nutrition. He's very knowledgeable in all areas in addition to being a good motivator and most importantly has a great sense of humor! I've seen a big difference in how I feel day to day, I've lost body fat, gained lean body mass and best of all my back pain is virtually gone!! I highly recommend this small gym to anyone who is looking to get off the couch and work with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Walking into Whole Body Fitness was one of the best decisions I've ever made!

My first gym membership – At the beginning of the year I made a decision to change my lifestyle and am so happy that I found Whole Body Fitness! The facility is clean, in a great location and the staff is amazing. The environment is comfortable and the people that work there are friendly, encouraging and extremely knowledgable. The price is very reasonable and I am so glad that I got the personal training packages. My trainer, Liandra, is just wonderful and she has helped me learn how to use the machines and excercise properly. I recently included some nutrition sessions with the last package and boy, what an eye opener! Everyone that is there, from the staff to the members, really enjoys what they are doing. We all know that we are all there for the same things...health and wellness. For me, joining was the hardest part. The people at Whole Body Fitness have made the rest fun and very worth it.
Great Place to Get Fit – Having been a member of various "clubs' throughout the Northwest, my search for a new place to workout has finally ended. After checking out some of the other fitness clubs in the Portland area, I was delighted to find a place I can call my 'second home'. I feel like I am part of a family, rather than just another number. The staff is always there if I have a question about how to change up my routine and I love that they offer words of encouragement when I'm just not feeling like finishing my workout. And, with expert nutritional advice available, I am able to find a good foods combinations to carry me through my cycling season. Thank you, Whole Body Fitness!
Best Neighborhood Gym – I first heard of Whole Body Fitness when I received a postcard from the gym in January of 2007. Since it was after the holidays and I was feeling out of shape and full of Christmas bloat I decided it was a sign for me to get myself moving and get serious about getting back into shape. I went in to check out the facilities and talk to James and the next thing I knew I had signed up for 3 personal training sessions a week for a month. That turned out to be one of the best things I have ever done for myself. James was such a great inspiration to me. He did the exercises with me, made sure I was doing them correctly, encouraged me to find strength inside myself that I couldn't find and best of all he made me laugh. The gym, which is close to my house, is clean and comfortable. The machines are all in good working order and well taken care of. I never feel uncomfortable around other members. It feels more like family than just a place to work out. It has been a year and a half and two membership renewals since I walked into Whole Body Fitness. I am leaner, stronger and healthier than I have been in a long time. I love James and his gym and highly recommend it to all my friends.
Breath of fresh air – What a breath of fresh air! I was surprised to find this gem right in my neighborhood. I went into Whole Body Fitness having had experienced what the large gyms are like and was attracted to the intimate environment that theyoffered. I had gotten comfortable with my fitness routine and needed something NEW! I decided to try personal training-and what a difference! This was just the kick-in-the-butt that I needed. James, my trainer, has been the motivation that I was needing and is always there to support me and make me work just a little bit harder. I actually enjoy going to the gym and looking forward to my creative routine which may require his famous lunges and crunches. Whole Body Fitness is supportive and the people there make me feel special and that they really do care. Highly reccommended!
