Closed now – This was one of my favorite places to visit on Fridays because they had the whole lamb roast. But they have been closed now for over a year!

Crazy experience – We showed up on a Saturday - sign said "Open." We went in and found that we were the only patrons in the place. The manager/owner said that they were open (we asked about 3 times) but that they were having a private party and needed us to, basically, be gone by 6 pm (it was 4:45pm). There were no signs that the restaurant would be closed to the public at a certain time.

Anyhow, they insisted that we stay. We were seated by a very nice server.

Without warning, they started a very loud and irritating (and somewhat hilarious) sound check as, apparently, they were hosting a "famous" singer. This went on and on. We shouldn't have stayed. However, the server was very polite and the food was high quality. It's too bad that the owner has such incredibly bad manners.

We can't make up our mind if we'll go back or not. The food might be worth it - (our only criticism of the food is that the chicken was very dry) and, on an evening when they are not doing a sound check - the atmosphere would probably be pleasant.

BTW, we were going to have dessert, but the clock was about to strike 6 pm, so we left. Come to find out, the party wasn't starting until 7 pm and believe me, they were already set up and prepared.

Not a good experience! – I would have never gone to this restaurant but on Saturday night I had a coupon that I got out of the "clipper" magazine. I actually never really use coupons but I thought I'd give it a try. Buy one dinner entree and get the other one free, was the coupon. The place was nice. Very nice waitress. I ordered the mezza platter and my husband, the lamb chops. Very good. We were impressed. However, when the bill came I gave the waitress our coupon and she said that the owner wouldn't let us use it. She didn't tell us, or she forgot that the mezza platter was not on the "dinner" list. The mezza platter was less expensive than a dinner anyway! She said that the owner still would not except it. Long story short...Give me a break! Good customer service would have let us use it. I am also in the hospitality industry and I will tell everyone not to go here. Too bad cause I would have gone back.

Diamond in the Rough – I went to Yasmen for the first time this past Saturday night. I see it every day on my way to work and usually see alot of cars. Immedietly when you walk in you experience the sweet smell of the shisha, I didn't try the hookah but will do when I go back. The decor is very very nice, to the linen lined tables set to a T, to the nooks draped with fabric and lined with pillows, it was a nice suprise because the outside does not reflect the beauty of the inside. The drinks I had were prepared with care, and yes they were strong : )

There was a man who played keyboard and a singer, I loved it! I danced the whole night!! It was a little slow as there were not alot of people but I talked to some other people who frequent the joint and said that this night was particularly slow.

I hope more people go check this place out because it is a jem that I'm glad I discovered and will go back very soon.

Give it a Try – I tried out this restaurant on a Friday evening. The outside of the building leaves something to be desired, but the inside was clean, and made our meal a novel dining experience. The dining area has pillows all around, and is interesting. The belly dancer we saw was very good, if not a little too provocative for the table of senior citizens dining near us. The food was good, not great, and I agree with the other review, that it is overpriced. The best part of the meal was probably the roasted vegetables, with garlic and olive oil. My chicken kabob was dry, and needed seasoning. The appetizer sampler was ok, but I thought everything on it was a little too oily and needed more seasoning. The cocktails were good, and our server was outstanding.

Cool place, good food! Don't let the exterior fool you – The inside of this place is roomy and cool. There is a front stage where they have belly dancing on weekends. It looks like they are suppose to have a live band there, but all I have ever seen is a DJ. The bartenders are pretty and the drinks are strong. I ate dinner there recently and had an excellent, tender lamb shank and rice flavored with pine-nuts. The hummus and homemade bread were excellent--plenty of good olive oil on the hummus and even though the bread was not really traditional pita (was thinner and seemed to be baked with some oil of some kind) it had a very delicious flavor. The prices were a little high for what you get, but overall the quality of the food and the atmosphere were very good. Another time I just had a few cocktails and smoked the sheesha (water-pipe), which lasted 15-20 minutes and had good flavored tobacco (this is the only time I ever partake--the water in the sheesha cools and filters the smoke and I tell myself this makes less unhealthy than cigarrettes heheh) . I recommend checking this place out.
