Ugh – Pros: 24 hours, decent price
Cons: way too crowded all the time..they need to expand..many times you have to wait for a machine to open, PT sessions are not worth it (alot of inexperienced trainers and you see new ones every week)..do yourself a favor and go with a friend to help and motivate each other rather than paying the extremely high fee for worthless PT sessions, make a separate area to do floor exercises for PT sessions...not in the middle of the aisles where everyone is trying to walk, alot of machines are out of order, most of the staff is not friendly and some are snobby, workers are pushy, I've heard it's extremely hard to freeze and cancel your membership, although I have not had to do so yet, I did a free training session and the trainer was pushing me way too hard (i know my limits, especially on a 1st session, and I am in decent shapeand have a great weight) and made me feel humiliated when I didn't do what he/she said and all the other trainers were staring, VERY HUMILIATING! Talked to me like I was a child, when I am even older than the PT I had. Try somewhere else!
How To Get Membership Cancelled! – In my experience with this location, tick off someone in your life on a personal basis. Have them go to Club Fitness on Lemay Ferry Road and tell all kinds of lies and half-truths about you. When you attend, you will be treated to being personally insulted and physically threatened by the staff and some of the general membership.
Complain to management at the location, and they will make a half-hearted attempt to get people to stop. When the people don't stop and you try talking to them directly, congratulations your membership has been cancelled due to several complaints against you . Get a good attorney...
Club Fitness -- lots of consumer complaints – Aside from not being particularly impressed with anything associated with Club Fitness, I joined any way. If I knew then what I know now...
This site will not allow me to use the formal name of the organization that gathers and reports information on business reliability, alerts the public to frauds against consumers and businesses, provides information on ethical business practices, and acts as mutually trusted intermediaries between consumers and businesses to resolve disputes, but this organization's records show about 50 complaints over three years.
Keep in mind that a lot of people try to resolve problems on their own and don't report to the above-mentioned organization. I myself tried for three long months to cancel my membership and finally had to close the bank account that Club Fitness was charging. (After my sympathetic banker promised not to charge me for resulting overdrafts.)
