St. Matthews Location- Horrible Customer Service – I am a member out of Middletown and I used St. Matt for shear convenience. The massage was ok, but customer service at the front desk was horrible. They messed up my account and I had to call to have it fixed. The managers were inept and rude and said they fixed the problem when they didn't, leading to me havign to call in for a second time. Once again, rude and inept. Finally spoke to my home location and they fixed the issues quickly and with good customer service. I highly recommend not using the St. Matt location.
Horrible Management! – Massage was great but not the reason why I am writing this review unfortuantly. This review is strictly about the very very sad poor and pathetic ownership I've witnessed at my visit and as being A member there. First let me start off saying that the part time staff seemed to know more About the business and how to run it, more thann the owner himself, he actually rang me up once and he took only about um 20 min to run myy massage on what normally take 3 minutes...he seemed to be confused by the look of his face while looking at the screen as if It was something new to him...after finding out he was the actual Owner and not a newbie that started just the day before, it kind of made me laugh the rest of the way home. He even admited he wasn't used to ringing people up or even familiar booking appointments so I didn't want to open those can of worms and ask him to rebook me a future massage...shouldn't a owner know the ins and outs of running their OWN business??? Just saying...was again sad on the owner's part too not even know. What I would think be the BASICS of the business. Step it up bud.
Amazing Healers! – I get lots of massages and this place rocks! They have over 20 different therapists to choose from and they usually have walk-ins available. I called on a Tuesday morning and got a massage in the next 30 minutes. I paid $39 for the hour, well worth it considering other places charge up to $80. I joined their wellness program that only costs $49 a month but includes one massage and discounts on additional massages. What a deal! I went back in two weeks and tried a different therapist and they were even better than the first. The important thing is they listen to your needs and really care about your aches and pains. I am going to tell everyone I know about this place. I hear that they are open at 8am and close at 10pm everday except Sat and Sun close at 6pm. Finally a place that offers a great service, great price, and great convenience!
You get what you pay for – I did the introductory massage which is only $39. I didn't like how when I paid they asked me in advance how much I wanted to tip, so I was saying it out loud. I think they should get a credit card system like most other salons and spas because it is unprofessional to ask outloud. The massage itself was okay, it just didn't have that "uummf" that a massage at a spa such as an Aveda spa has. I mean for the price it was okay, but I am sore from it right now as I'm typing this. I requested very light pressure and when I had to tell her to go lighter, she gave me some excuse how she normally gives deep tissue massage and wasn't used to Swedish. I don't really care about your reason, do it right because I'm the customer! Also, comparing with the last customer, the hand sanitizer straight to the face doesn't exactly feel the best! Maybe they should do it either outside the room while the client is changing or at least not right in front of their face. Also, I could tell that they smoked! I could even smell the menthol under her fingernails when she massaged my face!!! It was nasty, and I have Asthma! Also, the "relaxation room" should only have one client at a time, like they should have multiple ones so guests don't have to sit together. There were these tacky old people who smelled gross when they came in, and she started grabbing tea bags and putting them in her purse! I know they can't help who comes in, but maybe they should have separate relaxation rooms since they can't help it! Anyways, it wasn't horrible or anything, I think next time I'll save up longer and go to Z's.
smokey massage – I went to the middle town location and I walked in and was greeted well.. It was clean and very professional. Then my massage therapist came out greeted me and we went back. She asked a few questions and we started the service face up. Her hands began to touch face and an aroma of camel lights and bath and body vanilla bean anti bacterial lotion attacked me. SHe massaged well, but talked about personal issues and majority of the time. I think its kinda sad that in a place of wellness you would allow your employees to smoke in between guests. Get them a nic patch and call it a day
