Unique spot downtown – Brass Beck is really worth five stars on the restuarant scale. Everything I've had there has been fantastic. The charcuterie is simply the best I've ever had and is great value.

My only complaint is that for happy hour the bar is just too small. If you really want a seat get there real early. The bartenders are very nice and helpful.

That said, if you order some appetizers and drinks than you can score a table, and even one outside if it's nice.

More than great beer! – We went to Brasserie Beck for a birthday dinner, and had a great time start to finish! The hostesses, servers, and bartenders were all friendly, outgoing, and very knowledgeable. We felt very welcomed!

We tried seafood and meat dishes, and enjoyed them both (read: licked our plates!). Our waiter gave us awesome recommendations (try the pan-seared scallops for an app, and the pork tenderloin for your main course). We saw a lot of people enjoying the mussels, as well.

I can't wait to go back!

Citysearch Editorial Review – Diners seeking upscale French-Belgian cuisine need look no further than Brasserie Beck, veteran chef/owner Robert Wiedmaier's stylish, modern homage to the flavors of Brussels. From the view of the bustling, glass-walled kitchen to the lively buzz of conversation at the huge walnut-and-marble bar, the sights and sounds within the capacious 8,500 square feet give the place an energetic, informal atmosphere. The menu features signature Belgian fare like the large, succulent mussels flanked by heaping piles of hand-cut fries--but it wouldn't be a brasserie without beer, and Beck makes a strong bid for the title of Washington's best Belgian beer selection with its staggering array of nine draft choices and more than 100 bottles.
