Owner's behavior is very unprofessional and does not rectify issues to customer satisfaction.
I called them to fill travertine holes in my home along with cleaning and honing. They gave me a quote and indicated they would use "unsanded grout". When they came out, the material they used to fill the holes ended up being CAULK out of a tube. When I questioned the owner (Darrel Luth) he said that this IS grout and that this works the best. (I later found that statement to be totally untrue.) In good faith, I paid him (my bad). Valleywide Stonecare very quickly cashed my check.
After 72 hours when the CAULK did not dry, I started researching the product (Darrel had left the tube of caulk with me) AND called two very reputable Arizona tile companies in the valley. BOTH told me that this material was to be used as a caulk of a fraction of an inch and NOT to fill holes. (my holes were over three inches wide)
I had Darrell come out the next week to correct. When I tried to discuss this customer service issue with him and told him the result of my research and that this product is NOT to be used to fill large holes, his behavior immediately became unprofessional, belligerent and said "I'm leaving now", walked out the door and would not refund my money. Since he had cashed my check, I knew that I had to try to do everything to get some rectification, I convinced him to come back into the house and was rude the entire time when trying to "fix it".
Bottom line, the additional caulking he used also shrunk and took almost a week to dry and looks awful. This was a total waste of money and time.
I ended up having someone else correct this issue. This is hands down THE WORST company I have ever dealt with and the owner exhibits totally unprofessional behavior. Unbelievable customer service NIGHTMARE. Oh, and I also found out that Valleywide Stonecare is NOT licensed to do stone work/care.
my husband and I are retired and live in gilbert, yesterday we hired Darrel luth owner of valleywide stonecare to strip and hone 900 sq. feet of travertine tile. the job took 4 hours and 30 min. we were charged $1800.00. who gets $400.00 an hour to clean a floor? if we had done more research, we would have discovered valleywide stonecare has an F rating with the az. BBB. please don't make tne same mistake we did.
Be afraid, be very afraid! – This company was hired by a maid service who damaged my brand new travertine tile custom built shower by using a harsh chemical that left streaks in the tile. Valleywide Stonecare assured me they could fix the damage by honing and buffing it out & then resealing. Suddenly, they arbitrarily decided they would not do the thorough job promised & rather then honing & buffing as arranged, they just went ahead and sealed over it. This was a costly mistake as they sealed in the damage, making it even harder to return to its original condition. The shower looks significantly worse than it did immediately following the damage. When contacted to fix their subpar work, the owner personally insulted me and attempted to get me to okay ripping out my tile and destroying the shower and my bathroom wall, rather than just doing their job & fixing their work. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company of this nature and would not recommend them to my worst enemy
