The salesman we had out and out lied to us he seemed like such a nice man but what b s we recieved from him, he is definately a great liar, he was such a good bullsh....r we never checked the paperwork because we believed him, shame on you C.A.D. and because he lied on the extended warranty and our sectional barely held up for 6 months and we were shocked at the rude treatment we rec'd fom customer service, what a nasty witch the superviser is!!! I think its time to weed out the dead weight at your company! when our last set from Rotmans held up great for 20 years, not one tear anywhere! He told us they would repair any damage and or stain, were it animal, human or negligence on their part! Needless to say wesaw a dining room set, and bedroom set we loved and planned on buying this year, but that has changed, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING AT ANY BERNIE AND PHYLS, and i am a very easy going person and dont normally complain, but $2,000. Should stand up alot longer than 6-7 months.
Great Product, Great Service, Great Price! – I bought a sectional sofa for our family room from Bernie & Phyl's last year and its been holding up great - still looks as nice as the day we bought it. So when I needed a desk for my work and the kids homework, I went back to Bernie & Phyl's to find something that would match the decor and fit in one corner of the family room. I found a beautiful desk and decided to get the matching bookcase too, since it fit my budget. It was delivered the next week as promised, and the delivery people were polite, friendly, and careful with unloading and setting it up. We set up our home computer on the desk, and I use it during the day and the kids use it at night for homework. We've filled the bookcase with all the books that were scattered around the house, so one kid can be reading while another is on the computer. It's a great set up that looks great too!
Disappointing experience – We bought a bed and a dining set in May. The first issue we had was that the price of the bed we were charged was higher than what was displayed in the showroom. Unfortunately, we did not find out until a couple of days later. When we called, we were told that we were charged the correct price. The price in the display is broken down even more on paper, so you would need to sit down and add things up, so you can compare apples to apples. One of the few things that didn't match price wise was the bunkie board, it was listed at $39.99, but we were charged $49.99. The biggest difference was the bed itself. We were charged $150 more. Same goes with the mattress.
The salesperson was so nice that we trusted her. And really did not think that we need to double check. When we went back a few days later, of course, all the prices were already changed. So please be careful. I did not cancel the order because I just don't have the time to go look for another bed. The whole twin bed with trundle cost $1300, so I don't think it was that inexpensive.
We accepted delivery of the bed as we were told that the dining set was already shipped from the manufacturer and on its way as well. We were even asked if we want to wait another week for the bed, so they can deliver both. We asked them to deliver the bed first.
The 2nd issue we had is that the dining room never came. We were first told that it was already shipped, then got a call that it was going to be delayed until Aug 14. And then, got another call to say that it's being delayed until end of September.
Meanwhile, we postponed our summer party, thinking the dining set will be here by mid August. And now we have to scramble to get a dining set. Had we known that the dining set will be an issue, we would have never even bought the bed. We ended up paying $79 of the $99 delivery fee for the bed. We could have gone somewhere else and saved on delivery fee.
The 3rd issue we had is with the free TV. With the bed and dining set, we were qualified to get a 19inch TV. I asked if we can still get a 19inch TV versus a 15 inch TV for all the inconvenience we've been through. I was told on July 31, that they are no longer giving out 19inch TVs. It's either I get a 15 inch TV or a $100 best buy gift card.
I think its pretty obvious that Bernie and Phyl's is saying no to my request. I am very disappointed that there were no apologies or act of goodwill on Bernie and Phyl's part for the inconvenience and increased cost that they put us through.
They are supposed to refund my $100 deposit and $10 delivery (which I had to ask for). Also, waiting to get the $100 best buy gift card.
We'll see and will post again if we have issues with those.
I will never go back again to this store. It's not worth it.
