They're out to make a profit off donated stuff!!! – I have frequented the Salvation Army in the past as a great place to get things you need that are reasonably priced & its re-using instead of buying everything new. I'm glad that places like this exist because a lot of us can't afford to buy things new especially with the state of the economy. I am however appalled to find a non-profit "charitable" organization taking advantage and trying to make a profit on used donated items. I went in last week and saw a vintage fur cape, probably from the 60's, it was marked at $14.99, but it had a seam that had come apart so it would need to be fixed. I opted not to buy it so I could think about it, however, when I returned to buy it, I found that they had marked it up to $44.99 since last week. They claim that this was done because it was real fur, but that makes no sense, I bought a MINK fur cape there with no flaws for only $20.00. I decided to look further and notice that they had marked up several items I had previously seen, including a very worn and dirty Coach bag, from $29.99 to $99.00!!! Also, many of their winter coats had been marked up as well. I personally find this to be deplorable. It seems to indicate they are trying to pull a profit and they are doing this right before the holidays, like many retail stores do, but don't want you to know. So buyer beware, these days even "charity's" are out to take advantage...

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE IRRESPONSIBLE PPL! – Had to book with them over a month in advance. Had to be home per their instructions. Spent the night before moving all items to garage. Took the day off from work to be home in their 8am-2:45pm window. They called me at 2:50 to say they were not coming. ARRRGHHH! Just terrible. like I can afford to take a day off from work. What a waste of time and effort. Stay away from the Worcester Salvation Army. I went with them because I read bad reviews of other SAs, I guess we can add this one to the list. COMPLETELY UNRELIAABLE!!!!!!!!

Stocked exclusively with donated goods, thrift store contributes all earnings to Bible-based rehab programs throughout the world. – In Short
The Salvation Army is an evangelical Christian organization that devotes billions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours each year to disaster relief, social services and other charitable causes worldwide. With proceeds going directly to adult rehabilitation centers, the Army's many thrift stores play an important role in furthering the organization's mission. Patrons of the stores pick through a diverse selection of moderately worn clothing, as well as second-hand furniture, electronics, books and toys at bargain prices.
