This kitschy, pop-art adorned hipster hot spot is a sweet space to catch some awesome DJs and to marvel at the Warhol-esque walls.

Worst Bar Ever – I've been to a lot of bars/clubs in New York since moving here in 1996, and Le Royale was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was there for two friends' combined birthday parties, and we must have spent hundreds of dollars there, only to have a terrible witch of a hostess (manager, whatever--she was a rude woman who thought her sH*T didn't stink because she had a clipboard) storm back to where we sitting and order us to leave for no reason. She stepped on my friend's foot and bumped into another friend, causing her to spill her drink, and didn't even apologize. When I told the hostess what she was doing was bad business, she uttered a homphobic remark (think f word) and tried to kick me out of the bar. I left on my own, and I'll never go back to this tacky, homophobic dump.

Le Royale play's incredible music on the best sound systems in New York! – I honestly get the feeling that the owners just want everybody to have a great time. Been there at least 12 times never once had an issue at the door.

Music aficionados and downtown scenesters reclaim the night. – Co-owners David Baxley (of the old club CentroFly) and Terry Casey (British DJ and producer) join forces to bring the West Village haunt Luke & Leroy back to life. Though the space has undergone minor renovations (think glam-dive chandeliers and pop art prints), those who frequented Le Royale's predecessor--famous for having spawned the ever-hip MisShapes DJ faction--will feel right at home in the dark, sexy space, as they sip affordable well drinks alongside their fellow hipsters, fashionistas, and other assorted uber-cool misfits (is there any other kind?), all the while dancing to electronic and rock tunes spun by world-class DJs.

Hits: Good music and a hard-to-come-by cabaret license make for a top-notch scene on the upper level dance-floor, and if you need a little liquid courage, you're in luck--drinks are served strong, cheap and quickly.

Misses: In theory there is no official "door policy," but in practice admission can be difficult to gauge. Some nights you'll be stopped and asked what party you're with, other nights you may walk in virtually unnoticed.

Terrible, rude bouncer! (at least on friday) – We were told that we were not wanted in this place because of how my friend looked! (He had come after work and was wearing a suit with no tie). I was told he was "too dressy" and "we don't want his kind in there". Way to give off a good vibe.

This place is what makes people think New Yorkers are rude.

Best intimate lounge and nightclub in the West Village 2008 – Restaurateur David Baxley, and esteemed English porn@star chef-DJ Terry Casey (known for his bangers and mash/fish and chips) have really outdone themselves with Le Royale. Cabaret shows, Couples/Lesbian shows, and Broadway show excerpt/s are just a small glimpse into the caverns of excess which is Le Royale, quiet possibly the sexiest little lounge in the West Village.

The space has 2 floors, 2 crown EV surround sound systems. Live PA. Two projectors, flat screens, comfortable seating areas, and a hardwood dance floor with 1970's Manchester Chic decor. The space is also equipped with a sidewalk license for brunch and street performance in the spring. The Sunday party is the most character driven party.

The place really caters to regulars so become one. I highly recommend this place for those who love music. 250 Capacity.
