best in the village – just had brunch at Gottino.....the best brunch in the west village so far.....amazing food,wine,ambience,service.....excellent!!!!can"t wait to go back tomorrow!!!and the patio is super charming and cozy.....try it and you'll love it
go elsewhere – Although gottino's wine list is laughable, the bartenders exude a stuck-up, holier-than-thou attitude about their meager offerings. Couple this with uncomfortable seating, a narrow space, a faux-rustic feel, and a clientele that makes you wish you brought a pillow, gottino is best avoided.
Amazing italian winebar and great food... they have a really nice magazine online "I LOVE GOTTINO" about food, wine and gottino's style....
great find – had an absolute wonderful experience, friendly service with great explanations, small, but not too small, plates, not cheap, but entirely reasonable for the city. chairs a bit uncomfortable, but thats about the only downside I found. Have been back two days later...
Jody Does it again! – Everyone knows Jody is the finest chef in the west village and after giving Gusto and Morandi breath she has done herself proud with this superb eatery. Offering something different and extraordinary. Try many small plates of heaven. Jody's artichokes make me coming back for more and more and more...
Possibly one of the best wine bars in the city. – I've been a regular since the day it opened. The wine list has a character, you can tell a single person with a vision picks everything on the menu - have not had a bottle that i did not like in one way or another here.
The small plates, yes, they are small, but this is NOT a restaurant, it is a wine bar, after all. The plates are delicious. Especially anything with anchovies. All the meats and cheeses are great as well. Possibly the one of the best wine bars in the city right now.
And here's a sleeper: Go there for breakfast, and see what I consider the best breakfast in the city right now. Not going to tell you more. Well OK... Try the steam scrambled eggs with prosciutto.
Fantastic Wine Bar with Delicious Small Plates – I can't imagine giving this wine bar a negative review as I've always found the food, wine, atmosphere, and service to be superb. My friend and I shared 6 small plates and all were delicious-- additionally, we each loved the wines we selected. The service has been excellent for both of my visits. Last time, we ordered a particular dessert wine that they happened to be out of-- to compensate, they substituted another dessert wine and gave us two glasses on the house. Gottino is truly an exceptional and enjoyable wine bar experience.
Mmmmm, the wine is tasty – I am not a wine person per se, but Gottino may have changed all that. My gal and I hada heck of time at the restaurant and everything that the server recomended was dead on accurate. Ask for the table in the corner if you are looking for a little romantic spot. And if not go just for the cozy atmosphere.
Go To Gottino – Gottino is one of the awesomest, coolest places I have ever been. I like the food and the service and I will go back for sure. Everyone must try it at least once. Great wine and great atmosphere.
Worst in Class – There are so many excellent wine bars in the West Village, to waste your time at this bland, over-priced little place would be a damn shame. There is nothing that sets this place apart but its inattentive and rude service.
Gottino is one of those restaurant/bars you should admire from the street as you walk by on your way to some place far better.
