I made reservations for a retirement dinner party for my father, and the day of I was told that we were booked for a space that I did not request (which required an additional charge). However, Shannon (manager) was very accomodating. She apologized for the inconvience and saw to it that my father's dinner was a success. We had the BEST wait staff, and they were very attentive to the need of all of our guests. This was my first time dining at this establishmnent, but certainly will not be my last! All of our guests were impressed by the food and service received. My Father (who is a native of Louisiana) really enjoyed the food as well as the atmosphere! SHANNON YOU ARE THE BEST!
If you are in need of a private dining room for a special occasion, this is the place!
Seafood, cajun, and chophouse. Can't go wrong!! – This is one of my fave places to eat. They have a large wine list and a great atmosphere but definitely not pretentious. I hate pretentious. Most importantly, the food is awesome and I always leave full and happy. The desserts are good, too. Also, Happy Hour is popular and they provide some free food. All in all, I highly recommend this place. Ask for Sheree. She's a great server, very nice and gives you a great experience. The owner is there a lot, too. It's a family affair and I like that.
Freshest seafood in town – Love this seafood house, definately has the right combination of fresh seafood and service. Ambience is terrific, reminds me of some of the places I love in New York. Highly recommend this place to everyone!
very fresh seafood – I have eaten here four times now and have enjoyed my meal each time. I am picky about eating seafood and get bored easily with a menu. The Golden tile is my favorite fish. I unfortunately ate too much and went home very stuffed from eating delicious crabcake, rainbow trout and bread pudding. I will return soon but won't make the mistake of over-eating!
Extraordinary seafood and steaks, excellent service, beautiful decor – Last night we tried the new Jimmy Wilson's on San Felipe at Sage and were very impressed from the time we walked in. We had our 8-year-old with us and as we waited a short 10 minutes for a table near the front door, two women were discussing trash a bit too loudly at the bar. The bartender quickly asked them to turn it down out of respect for our presence. I was truly impressed! The restaurant is tastefully designed with massive wine moving wine racks from floor to ceiling. The husband wanted steak so badly but they're a bit costly at $35. He went for the ribeye anyway which was prefectly prepared and he was satisfied. I chose the Redfish Roulaide, one of the house specials topped with oysters, shrimp and a spicy roux based sauce. Simply delicious! Our server was very attentive but not overly! There is no child's menu so next time we will arrange for a babysitter so our daughter ate crab fingers w/fries and steak and fish bits from our plates. If you love wine, excellent cajun-based seafood and perfectly prepared steaks, Jimmy Wilson's on San Felipe is the place. It's new so not overly crowded even at 7:30 on a Sat night. It will be though as long as the food, service and atmosphere remains as excellent as it is now!
Jimmy Wilson's Seafood & Chop House serves up Cajun-Creole fare at this west Houston seafood landmark. – In Short
Cajun seafood delights await at this casual eatery named for owner Denis Wilson. Count on a lively bar scene and fresh daily seafood specials highlighting the flavors of the Gulf. Order a house-specialty Bloody Mary and grab a bowl of deep, dark gumbo, crawfish bisque or sample shucked-in-house oysters at the popular oyster bar. Crisp, cornmeal-coated fried shrimp shine as do crab-meat dishes like the jumbo lump saute. Platters suit the indecisive while meat lovers can rely on veal chops, lamb or steak.
Our New Favorite Place in Houston – Jimmy Wilson?s Seafood & Chop House on San Felipe at Sage has great atmosphere, excellent service, food, and drink at a reasonable price. The owners have completely gutted the former restaurant at this location and the result is a spotlessly clean, open kitchen behind glass and a big wrap around bar with multiple plasma TVs. There is also a patio. They serve impeccably fresh seafood prepared in a variety of ways (ie. not all fried). One of our favorite appetizers is the sweet & succulent Garlic Steamed Gulf Oysters. The gulf crabmeat, fried oysters, and broiled trout almondine are delicious! We haven?t tried the beef dishes but have been told that the Colorado lamb is fabulous! Give this new restaurant a try! It will not disappoint!
A great addition to the area... – Just went last night to the new Jimmy Wilsons on San Felipe and it was GREAT. I eat at the one on westheimer about every month or so and it has been my favorite seafood place for many years. The new one is so neat, when you walk in the first thing you see is a giant wine tower and a giant tower full of liquor. We were also happy to see Jeff the manager from the other store. We will defiantly be back again, the food was perfect like always and the service was very good as well. I recommend this place to anyone, I am not a big wine drinker but they have a huge wine list and the other person I was with commented that the prices were much better then all the other places in the area.
