Illinois-based drugstore chain serves neighborhoods with fully stocked stores and modern amenities. – In Short
Founded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. Store features include a computerized system connecting pharmacies nationwide via satellite, grocery-store food aisles, one-hour photofinishing and an automated phone system for prescription refills and pre-arranged pickup times. Other services include in-store flu shots and childhood immunizations.
Walgreens pharmacy is light years superior than others! – I'm so-o glad they put a Walgreens in my neighborhood! Those of you who don't know the difference... here's a few reasons;
If you need to stop and get just a few things, milk, bread, ice-cream, a birthday card or balloon... things you'd go to the Eagle for, try Walgreens!
Never a parking problem, never a big line (even the 10 or less lines are longer at the Eagle!) and the prices are just fine and dandy.
*I always spy out the orange close out tags that aren't advistised--woo-hoo! Really good.
The reason I wanted to write a review in the first place is this~~ The pharmacy.
Why in the world would you want to go someplace else when you can get the same thing/prices with no hassle and moreover.... SERVICE. Remember that?
I recently called three places (Walgreens, Giant Eagle and Wal-Mart) in trying to be a good consumer and get some prices 'before' I had my doctor call in a prescription for me.
What I found at the Eagle--the phone ran a long time-- they were curt when I wanted to simply ask a few questions...no time for me attitude for sure. In fact she said they could NOT quote me prices.
Wal-Mart was fine and friendly-- they quoted me prices--nice all'round.
Walgreens not only quoted me the prices-- but when in conversation I wondered aloud if my insurance had a deductable---KRISTEN a gal in the pharmacy actually OFFERED to call my member services on the back of my card to see! Talk about serive! She then called me back and explained everything to me.
Same meds, no lines, same prices and service. THAT'S why I took time out to write this--thanks Walgreens and Kristen. Sincerely, Mrs.eBay
